Matchboxchick, I felt the same recently. I was fully geared. Got my full equiped M4 with two amoboxes full of rounds. Two SPC full with morphine, bandages and other important stuff. All my clothes were pristine. Also got a high cap vest and so on. Only the best and it took me long, very long, to find all this. I than ran though the map. I went everywhere inland. Visited nearly every city and never saw any other player. Just a few zombies that went down with help from my firefighter axe. But that was getting quite boring. Eating and drinking your loot is not enough. I wanted more and ran into Elektro. The server was full. But I saw nobody. I ran do Bere. Nothing. Totally emptiness all around. Then in went to the military base near Vybor. And there was the end of my journey. I was killed by a four man squad. Firstly I saw only one and I killed him. The other three jumped out of their bushes and .... Dead. That's life in DayZ. That how it happnes daily, hourly in every minute.

That was so mean. This poor boy was just waiting for a bus to Elektro and you punched him out of his gear.

These walkie talkies are too rare to use them. I never found one so did my friends. So even if you find it, you'll very hardly find another player using it.

Even if I have the map more or less in mind, this is a great work and helpful if you want offgame talk about the places.

Yesterday I saw a video with the new airfield. To be honest, the area lookes better the way it is until today. The hangars and the other buildings fit more into an airfield. I don't like these normals storage buildings. They're ok at the port in Berezino. Maybe there were some more bugs and problems with the jail there so they had to change this areas completely. Who knows?!

Just move backwards on the stairs. I always see if someone is there even if he is lying on the ground - ah and yes, without getting shot. ;)

It even runs with Windows 8.1 x64.

It's a sound bug and I am getting used to it. After a while you know that this there is no other player or zombie making this noise. But I am still hopeful that they will fix these buggy sounds.

I still got my fully equiped M4 with quite a lot of rounds from a time before the patch was released. So I will pretect this little toy like my eyeball. If you hear some M4 shooting, maybe it's me chasing you! You'll never know. :D

In my eyes the last update made it even worse. I lost about 5-10fps in certain areas. I got still enough FPS though, but I hope it will get better in the future.

Why don't you use google to find something like a beginners guide? The web is full with helpful websites.

Hi there, I normally met my zombie friends in the streets, behind barns or on the meadow. But since some time they are also waiting inside buildings. They are just standing there waiting. I also saw a zombie walking up the stairs into the second floor. It wasn't glitching. It just walked slowly through the stairway and followed me into the floor. Did this happen by accident? Or is it a new feature? See you in Elektro... ;) Tony

In this case it was not experimental. I never joined the beta program.

I was on a server with only one more player. And we ran into eachother on the NEAF. So, now you know how to meet new friends. ;)

I don't know if the server was experimental. But I am quite sure that it was not. It would be much more realistic if zombies are spawning upstairs and if they are able to go up the stairways. But firstly they have to stop that glitching and wall hacking (at the prison for example).

While playing Dayz I never saw any difference between 30 and 60fps. When the FPS is above 30 then it's all the same to me. So in my eyes 30+ is always enough.

And always remember that everything above 25fps is enough. Who needs 60 or even 80fps?

I have an Intel Core-i5 3570 3.4Ghz and a ATi Radeon R7 265 2GB running in my PC. The framerates are always above 30fps (@1080p) independent of the area.

The sound bug sounds like a horse, so they'll add horses to the game. Because it is easier to add a new animal into the game rather than solve the problem with the soundsystem. (Attention: This post is filled with irony*.) * Thanks to Richard II in Leicester

Recently I found four of them in 30mins of gameplay. They were stored in nearly all buildings. But I only needed one. ;)

Well, this was the best part of the game I ever played. I was at the NEAF and ran into another player. Both of us were very surprised and we were standing face to face a few meters apart. He took his weapon like I did. We shot simultaneously. I was unconscious and heard nothing more. No steps. No other shooting. Nothing. So I knew that I also hit him and after a few more seconds I was dead. Until here a very common gameplay. Afterwards I respawned in the very north area of the map. I was surrounded by roads with many dead-end-streets. No buildings, only roads. The sun set and I ran south into the small city, that got no name on the map. It is north of the NEAF. I checked the playerlist and saw that I was alone. All alone on this server. Even the sun left und so I was completely alone in the darkness. I looted the city and found only drinks and cans and a little axe. Nothing special so far. Then I headed south to the NEAF and die playerlist now showed one more player. Actually I wanted to go to sleep but I took the chance to loot the airfield without the risk of meeting a bandit player. So I ran across the airstrip and started to loot the buildings from west to east. The door of the prison was open and I ran towards the building and there he was. The one other player who shared that server to that time. I mean the map is more than 250 km² large and we ran into each other at this very spot. He was well geared with a rifle and army clothes and I was afraid that he would kill me instantly. I waved and told him that I am friendly and that I don't have a weapon with me. We had to laugh that we met here as the only two players on that server and I kindly asked him if he was able to find something special at the airfield. He said yes and took me to the hangars were I found a large backpack and a Blaze95. Than he gave me an ammobox with a lot of rounds for that rifle. I gave him some SKS rounds and after a bit smalltalk we waved goodbye and left the area. That was a very special moment for me. Meeting the only other player on that server who is very friendly and sharing his equipment with me. "FriendlyFriend", if you read this post, thanks for the stuff and your help. Hi there, still a dayz-noob I found this thread (http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/197039-m4-spawns/) and I read about the fact that the M4 will be spawned only at heli crash sites. While reading that thread I believed that the Mod is meant here and not the standalone version, but I'm not sure. So, please help me with my ignorance. ;) - Is it true that the M4 can't be found in Airfields, Mil.Camps etc. any more? - If yes, where are those heli crash sites. Are they positioned randomly or at fixed points on the map. TIA for your help. Tony

Hi there, recently I respawned in Polana. I was thursty and I found many cans of cola, spite and beer. After drinking about 10 cans of that the status was sill THIRSTY. I found four cans of beans/spaghetti and I ate all of them got not energized. After finding a well I finally got a light green HYDRATED and after the next can of beans I also got ENERGIZED. I was wondering why I also got the status HEALING. I was not hit by and zombie. There was no other player around. Did something chenge with the last update? Is the freshspan not only thirsty but also wounded in any way? After drinking and eating more I was HEALTHY. I never got this messages in the past, so this must be new?! What is your experience with that? Tony

The best way to get a lot of loot. Hide somewhere, when 2/3 players are around. Call for help. Let others do the killing job and finally kill the hero. Afterwards you feel like in paradise. Weapons, drinks, cans and equipment in masses. Why searching weapons by yourself. Let others do the job. ;)
