How are you running into so many people who don't shoot you on sight? Everyone I have come across with a projectile weapon has shot me on sight.

I'm still waiting for my first good encounter. I was on a server with four people. I came across one guy in the NEAF and I had my shotgun out. He had a crowbar. He turned the corner, saw me and stopped in his tracks. I told him I wouldn't shoot him. I'm just checking things out. We both went our seperate ways. Then the next building over, I walk up some steps and get shot immediately from behind as I hit the top of the steps. (not the same guy, he was in another building) There was a guy at the top, behind the stairs, just sitting there. That's what I get for behind a "Sup" first kind of guy. :/

I have yet to find a friendly player. Everyone I've come across has killed me. (due to me not being a shoot-first type of person) It doesn't bother me much because I expect it, being the internet and all. I do wish people were playing this game more for the role-playing aspect though, rather than the every-man-for-himself attitude. Given enough role-playing, there would end up being plenty of PvP action because of people's egos/attitudes/etc. The "I see you, I kill you" aspect of this game for many people take away from the whole experience, IMO.
