so maybe i was just having the worst luck ever, but tried playing on the exp servers today. played for a few hours, died 3 times to starvation because the only loot i found anywhere was rotten fruit. when i finally managed to find a damaged raincoat got swarmed by 3 jumpers and got killed

the only time i've suicided out was when i got attacked by zombies right after spawn and the game glitched and i couldn't punch. other than that, I will always play the spawn i am given

getting KOS doesnt make me angry, glitch through walls and ladders doesnt make me angry. getting killed by a zombie because the game lags and on my screen im on the 2nd floor of a building but the server still sees me as in the middle of the street getting pummeled makes me rage quit. yes, i know its alpha, and bugs really bother me much, but dying to lag makes me want to punch my monitor.

so with the addition of the police uniform, i have decided to come out of the forests, stop playing mountain man style, and start patrolling the streets. going to be taking my new role of LEO/Sheriff way over the top. handing out tickets, stopping and asking people for ID, and beating down bandits while yelling "STOP RESISTING" I encourage others who feel the lawlessness of DayZ has gone on for too long to join me in bringing justices to the streets

so I was playing on the exp build servers and it was 1700 game time and already quite dark. pulled out one of my road flares (my new favorite item) and continued on with my adventures. well I was at the military base north of kamenka and ran into some zombies, well had to open inventory, turn on headlamp, close inventory, put away my flare, take out my gun, shoot zombie. are there plans to make turning on and off the headlamp/weapon light via action bar? are there plans to hold a 1h item in each hand (flare in left hand, machete in right hand)? as it stands now I dont hate playing during night time, but i hate the cumbersome actions it requires to have light and the ability to fight off zombies or other players

well, things where going good, scouting and looting the towns to the north, had my brown hunter gear (pants, hoodie, beenie) sks with ammo, magnum with ammo, sawed off stuck in my pack, and had a crossbow and around 20 bolts, full map and compass, good supply of meds and water. anyways, was running around, only 3 people on the server, thought i was safe, hadnt seen any zombies in awhile, wanted to go have a smoke. well instead of logging out like i should have i found some bushes and went prone. came back inside about 3 mins later, black screen "you are dead" wish it told me what killed me

i made a fishing pole, found a hook and got some worms, tried to put the worms on the hook, and it vanished

So I've been playing on the experimental servers for about 2 days now and I love it. I still tend to play mountain man style, only going into towns if I'm in desperate need of supplies. I've have nothing but good encounters, gave out some food and machetes to new spawns, and ran with a guy for a bit to try and find his friend. I don't think I'm going back to stable servers.

can you post a photo of the leather bag, been trying to make one but cant find any animals to kill and skin :(

Does how a player is dressed in the game effect your first thoughts about them? If you see someone in all black or all military cammo with a kevlar does it make you think bandit? I know the military gear has the most storage but I tend to go with brown or green hoodies with hunter pants. I like the look better and I think its less threatening, I've also started collecting an urban look, dark blue jeans with white/black checked shirt and blue taloon backpack.

I've only killed 1 person. I was only about 10 hours into the game and I was about to go into a building and out of the corner of my eye i see a guy running at me with an axe, i moved to the side and he kept swinging so i had to shoot him with my magnum, dropped him with 2 shots which was good cause i only had 4

I have switched over to the machete also, but the pipewrench and hammer are good too

from my encounters, i've never been killed by someone who said "hello" its always, "get on the ground" or "dont move"

So, I decided to try a hardcore server for the first time and I spawned close to most NE town. I make my way into town from the west side and head towards the police station, looting a few buildings along the way, all i have is a wool jacket and a shovel. As I enter the police station and start to look around Im in one of the rooms and i start drinking a soda when I hear "get on the ground, get on the ground, get on the ground" well, i had my shovel out when i started drinking so when the animation finished my toon auto pulled it back out, i turn around and see a gun in my face. well, since I really didnt have any gear my response was "no, you would have shot my by now if you had any ammo" and I ran at him swinging wildly. he runs out side and I chase him in a circle for a bit while he says something to the effect of "this didnt go like i planned" after a few more exchanges I tell him "look, im gonna leave this town and you're not gonna follow me, you can have everything here and you'll never see me again." I then turned and started darting between buildings heading towards the tree line. then I hear guns shots and thought that little shit. anyways i got away and I hope that guy learned a lesson, new spawns have nothing to loose and you dont have to try and hold up every survivor you see.

I would like to see more uses for spray paint as well as more color options

well, i've seen them in youtube videos and read about them on the dayz wiki, but is the balistic vest and tactical vest still in the game. I have about 300 hours playtime and havent seen one yet, just the assault vests, anit-stab a few times and press vest twice

I was at the NWAF and had like 6 zombies on me, so i ran into one of those hesco barrier bunkers and climbed the ladder up to the 2nd level, well couldnt get a shot at any of them so rather than climb down the ladder I just ran off the edge, about an 6-8 ft drop, didnt break my legs but did ruin my pants and everything in them. was glad i didnt die but was a little pissed that it broke a gun and some mags i had in my pockets.

So i was playing on a server with only 1 other guy, it was about 4am server time and I was at the NE airfield, I had started at the west end was looting my way towards the ATC tower, as I exited the building and started towards the prison I saw a figure. At first I thought it was a zombie and I just ran past it, then I heard "dont kill me, dont kill me" I replied with "dont worry man, Im friendly, just looking for some sks ammo." then me and my fellow survivor started to talk about the chances of running into the only other person on the server. I gave him some .357 ammo and a speedloader and headed out on my way south. to my nameless survivor, sorry I scared the crap out of you lol

First off, love the game. Got about 182 hours so far, think im on my 5th life, first few where rough learning the game but been having alot of fun looting and getting fully geared but started playing a new way, last life I had it all, fully spec'd M4 and FX45, 2 full ammo cans for each, full cammo'd out and such, it was cool but when that guy died i decided to play a little different, this time Im going minimalist. No military gear, cept for canteen and combat knife. right now im using hoodie and hunting pants, a beenie, chest holster with .357, sks for my main rifle. hunter pack only, no vest. since neither of my weapons can have a silencer im holding off shooting zombies for as long as possible, using stealth and melee attacks, scouting everything carefully before trying to loot as opposed to previous lifes where i just ran in guns blazing. im currently hunting down bolt quivers, hoping to get enough to make using the crossbow more than shoot and drop weapon. oh and if anyone wants to run with me, my steam id is sampsjt
