In all my weeks of playing DayZ I have barely seen any vehicles. Once a broken helicopter that required endless amount of stuff to fix and one flying in the distance. That's it. Not a single jeep, car, bus or bicycle. Nothing. It kinda annoys me that we (group of 3) are searching through all of the vehicle spawnpoints on the marked map and still haven't even seen a single vehicle. Not even a broken one. If it's meant to be like this, I demand change. If it's a bug or glitch, I demand immediate fix. As it is now, it's incredibly unrealistic and boring.

Start us off with NOTHING please

Do what you will with all the equipment, but please don't remove the bandages! It would annoy the crap out of me when I get punched without a weapon and bleed out then. That one bandage is really needed... or at least a fix that makes it impossible to bleed out after some punches. -
Don't you recognize how you are only making a fool out of yourself here?Get lost if you don't have anything to add to the discussion.

I used one because I didn't have any fun playing the game before. Now with map it's the same fun-less game, only with more frustration. It's really frustrating to see the the "pros" using glitches to get outside the map, hide on impossible places with awesome weapons and equipment, having fun with all the little noobs who haven't got any chance (or fun). I don't think it should be like that.

Really effective way of impressing how mature you are...I don't want to raid for other people's stuff or search for some specific servers only to get a vehicle. It shouldn't be allowed to park all of your vehicles and camps outside the map in the first place. That's simply not the sense of the game.

I support this if it is implemented in a good way. Like you said: Something like jobs maybe. A cop can aim better with police-class firearms... A doctor can use bloodbags without second-hand support... ... etc.

Bikes are the most common vehicle in the world. They should be everywhere!

3 points for me: - There should be spawning one in every city - It should attract Zombies (and players) pretty well - It should be very difficult or almost impossible to ride them on the post-apocalyptic high grass. You can just ride them on roads properly, up to ~30km/h -
I don't want the game to feature vehicles at every point of the map, but hell... it's impossible to find any! I was in a group with 3 people, scattered all over Chernarus. We had a map with all vehicle spawnpoints and were going all over the island for several hours, specifically searching for them, right after the server restart. How come that we do not find ANYTHING. Not a single bicycle! Why are there 20 cities and not a single functioning vehicle? It's annoying and unrealistic.

Different population-proportions for Villages and Cities
thebrinker72 posted a topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I recognized something after walking out of Cherno in some smaller village... If you shoot in Cherno, there are just as much (or even less) zombies attacking you than in villages. I once shot my Enfield in a 4-house village and I just couldn't stop defending myself against the hordes of incoming Infected. Now when shooting in Cherno, there are like 4 incoming Zombies and that's it. I think there could be more zombies in bigger towns and slightly less in villages. This would bring 3 advantages: 1. You are not overrun by an ridiculously unrealistic amount of zombies in a village. 2. The constant bandit-deathmatch going on in bigger cities would be reduced, because you would think twice before shooting on someone sneaking. 3. Cities would be a very interesting place to be in. Kinda like an intense and harder experience that is also rewarded with more. So either scavenge the city for rare supplies and risk attracting the hordes, or search in smaller villages for safety and worse equipment. -
Allow spawn location selection

That's a bad idea. -
Before downloading, I expected a zombie survival game with the spice of some bandits. But what I got was a big fps with zombies here and there disturbing the team-deathmatch action... When I search through the environment and explore the island, I just don't care about zombies anymore. They don't really deal any damage and they are not in hordes either. I am the whole time busy just searching for camping snipers everywhere. Those who really kill you all the time I would like the focus more on zombie survival than attacking other players...

PLEASE add Makarov on spawn again! I lost every motivation in playing since I died! You spawn without anything useful at hand and once you are seen a single time (which happens very often with that ridiculous aggro) you are endlessly hunted, just hoping for some bug to encounter. I never even saw a reason for removing the Makarov. I have NEVER seen anyone getting spawnkilled at the beach!... even if it would have happened, you thought it would be a good idea to remove the only standard spawn-protection? Now there are a ton of corpses from players who got eaten by zombies, being the defenseless puppet they are at the beginning. I hate how I always have to sprint to my fully equipped friends or have to wait for them, to even start playing properly. -
I really like that idea!

As a temporary solution it requires a lot of work for developers to implement this...

Why did u become a bandit??
thebrinker72 replied to austendude's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I became a bandit after I realized how pathetic it is to try to help people. So many unnecessary deaths. People will shoot first every time anyway. After all, you stand in front of the choice to kill someone and loot all he has... or risk getting shot after hours of playing. There is no reason provided to not kill everyone you meet... no advantage in helping others. -
I disagree with that idea, because it takes away something this game is meant to be: complete free-roam. You would specifically have to search through the servers to find one that provides that free-roam then. Kinda annoying.

I am against all this forge-building and bunkering. This game is great for it's need to scavenge all the time and a tent should be the biggest thing you can build.
-
I would love that! Can't imagine the heartpoundig excitement when you are accidentally crossing their lines and you have to lay down while they are all walking past you... This would also provide some kind of challenge some crazy guys could look forward to.
-
I haven't been there. I have this game for a week now. It's just that players desperately need a reason to not shoot anyone. In the current build there is absolutely no reason provided why you would not shoot random person A. It's either "shoot him and get everything he has" or "let that guy follow you, let him take half of your loot and risk a shot in the back later on"

I just recognized it again and I'll stop playing until it's fixed... DayZ is really just team-deathmatch with walking targets for distraction. There is nothing "zombie-survival" about this game. I just investigated the first city I spawned at and took out 10 zombies all on my own while they were chasing me with barely any damage. Now someone comes by while I am making friendly gestures and he shoots me. It's completely unnecessary to look for these weak zombies, all you have to do is to take care of stupid players here. There is also absolutely no reason to team up and that's why everyone runs around like Rambo. All this "try to guess if he's friendly or not" doesn't work as a concept here. Only friendly people are noobs and that's only because they are not able to kill anyone.

Guess I can most agree with blackaciddevil. Hordes are not really fitting for DayZ imo. They need more strength on their own.
