    after more then 1,5 years of development you still didn't realize wahts dayz is about and what the devs here are doing? dayz is like a big table with ingredients, and the devs are now putting more and more ingredients to it. after they have all ingredients they wanted to have, they need to check that all will work with each others and the performance sitting on that table is the best they can get. after all is working perfect the cooks (admins of private servers) are coming and mixing all ingredients they want for dinner together and you as a guest are welcome to sit on this table to enjoy the meal. so, we will have in futures a lot of servers with completely differents balanced loot, weapon- and foodtables, time of day, animals, amount of zombies, aggrostatus of zombies and so on. yes, it will be possible that you can join a server and there are no mordern weapons that spawn, perhaps also no food, just you against the wilderness with bow, stoneknife and axe. this is what the devs are now making possible, the balanced later will be done by admins of private servers. additional there will be modsupport, so what we are testing now is just the basic of what need to be working for a full sandbox of infinity possibilities.

  4. got an awesome run yesterday on experimental. met nowbody, but geared up in a such satisfaction way that i really enjoined the 3 hours. all ended with broken legs (broke them steps down, but was okay, my fault) in a middle of an airfield and 8 bullets in my makarov, the second zombie killed me, the last thing i heared was my makarov clicking empty with no bullets inside... so awesome lying on the ground an shoot zombies. next time as a lonely wolf i need to care more about wooden sticks to fix eventually broken legs by myself. :D
  5. me as a freshspawn hunted by other survivors with machetes because they want to eat me before dying of hunger and not just killing me for fun, will be an awesome experinece. can't wait joing this evening experimental.

    oh, it seemed that a group of wanderer and backpacker were astonished by some zobies, were eaten and/or were dragged away.
  7. i am not a friend of guarateed or balanced loot spread over one town, i am okay with in some towns only one building got loot while others nothing. so, for me i do not see a problem here, just went over next town.

  9. you do not need to know what you have to test, as soon as you join experimental, you are in testmode. if you can not play next branch without knowing what new was added, please only joining stable, there you get informed about changes in newer branches.
  10. do you know what alpha means? alpha means NOT balancing the implemented mechanics to its best, this is the workingprogress in beta. alpha is just for implementing things, not polished them also to final status, just wait for beta, major new things will not more beeing implemented, existing mechincs will then be fixed, polished and pushed to final status.

    "ridiculous" is relativ. :) would say not as much as with fists. wondered myself finding a hacksaw, but i did. got also some issues with that, could't wear that thing on my back, it clipped beside my head, near my left ear, but fighting with it maximium two hits and zombie down.

    yes, tried stable yesterday. absolutely good performance, no desync, quite good fps in towns, no problems fight zombies down with fists or crowbar.

    reconnected 3 times to same server because of all players were kicked from server, but not died after reconnect on same server. okay, it was not raining while kicked.

    hoppers did as well on hardcore, other seem not to. beside this, had have a nice run, joint near petrol station, found some food, knocked down a zombie with fists, found helmet, ridersjacket, backpack, empty bottle, a crowbar. on way to elektro killed zombies with crowbar, melee is fine, random sound bug still present, met a friendly guy, just say hello, nothing traded, was hitted in before electro by zombies, break arm, got nothing to eat anymore, bleeding and hungry arrived in electro, chased by zombies and was killed. overall, nice door sounds, nice melee, got at least no status report about temperature, only as i filled bottle with water in pound, random sound bug still present, hoppers enter closed building through doors. a good 1,5 hour session with 3 server restarts, but no CTD.

    it seems that this is not the build they were intended to push last night if this build "still has issues", becuase it means they try to fix some issues in last hours. we will see. :)

    okay, if you have a problem with that, i can understand. for me it makes no difference how an enemy get equipped if i face him. why i should think about it? perhaps he equipped fast in last 2 hours on empty server or he equipped slow last weeks on full pop servers, but for the moment i met him, it makes no difference. the only way to balance this "injustice", is to let the serverpop be a varable for loot(re)spawning. 1 player on server = lowest loot, 40 player on server = the most loot. this all with a dynamic loot balancing, if players joining, more loot spawning, when players leaving, kill loot. but again, for me it makes in a confrontation no difference how my enemies looted up. in a post apolyptic situation i am also not claiming god for the circumstance that the enemy i met was living next a to weaponshop and me on a farm. ;)

    if you face an full euipped enemy on a populated server, what is the different for you then between if this enemy joining empty server, equip fast and go populated server or if gear up on the a populated server for several hours, quit game, come back to same server few days later full euipped? the enemy you face is same full equipped, not matter how he has done it.

  22. hello survivers, for all those who like to play DayZ SA with a controller, i have tried to figure out the best solution for the Xbox 360 controller with pinnacles game profiler. this program should have a 30 days trial, and if you like it, the few bucks worth it, downloadable here: http://pinnaclegameprofiler.com/files/pinnacle-setup.exe after installed, you need to download my DayZ SA profile, here it is: http://www46.zippyshare.com/v/73005730/file.html after downloaded this profile, doubleclick it and you are asked if you want to import this profile into pinnacle: select yes and it also should automatically detect your path of DayZ SA: If not, you need to set the path manually. after done it, you can click on "okay" (or clicking directly "okay" if your path was founded automatically). you will get this picture: click on "import" and you get next this: if you see the DayZ Sign then you set everything correct, if not, click on "Edit" while marked "DayZ: D0pesen Profile" and you can set the correct path to Dayz SA executeable once again. next you can click on "Edit Configurations...", you will see this: this is the overview of the mapped controlls, feel free to change if you are not satisfy in detail. IMPORTANT: the "left Joystick" need to be unmapped, we will take the native DayZ game configuration for this. i also not mapped the "rightshoulder", i mapped it in Dayz with fast running. you can close this window and only need to start dayz while doubleclick on Dayz Profile: Steam and Dayz should start automatically. Now its important in Dayz NOT activate the custom controller, it need to be deactivated, pinnacle game profiler runs in backround and should NOT be activated in controll settings in Dayz. this is important because if we let pinnacle game profiler take control over the left joystick, it sucks more then hell, we use DayZ mechanic for the left Jostick, we have a much much more smoother running and its also analog. so we activate the 360 controller in DayZ settings and unmapp all commands so that only left Joystick is used by Dayz in game mapping, pinnacles game profiler runs in backround and take the rest commands. with this, you also have the mouse controlled cursor on right Joystick of your controller. thats all, if you have questions, please ask. important note: this profile based on pinnacles author Errol, which can be find here: http://pinnaclegameprofiler.com/pc-controller-support/alpha-gamepad-joystick/xbox-360-ps3-psx-etc/dayz-standalone thanks Errol for the good work, i just optimize it a little bit. ;)

    @desolance1 alpha is for implementing features rudimentary, beta is for polish and balance them, final is the best result of balancing and bugfighting.. we are still an alpha status, feel free to post bugs in bugtracker, the rest of data collecting is still done whole the time by the devs.

    okay, i see there could be an imbalance, and most freshspawn will search for rainy servers. :)
