    Video Series Seeking Voice Actors

What is the shopping list? Is that equipment required for recording of the video, that needs to be gathered in DayZ? Else i don´t see what it could do. Also how much time requirement would it require a week?
  2. Are you Australian or New Zealandish? Because that seems to be a rule of the server judgeing from the name. If the server is a private hive, the admin has full rights to ban you, and some admins do it without having a proper reason to do so.

ClimacticGaming | The Sexiest Name in Gaming

    Too Late to Start?

Im confused. You say you bought the game and then escaped due to zombies. And then you ask if its worth buying Arma 2: CO for DayZ. What game did you buy if you didnt buy DayZ?
  6. So my supply of NVG,s got stolen, or despawned or whatever, after 1.7.3 came out. Only my weapons remain (along with ammo n stuff) and since i need NVG,s more than i need some of the weapons, im looking to trade. I have a L85A2 AWS, a FAL AN/PVS-4 and a M14. I can also put in some Anti-Biotics. PM me or reply to this tread if you are interested.

    My equipment never saves

When logging out of an occicial hive atleast, only abort to the servers main screen (the one with names and ping) At that point the server still has your location, and if you go back into the server without exiting it completely, you will spawn where you left, you can now leave the server.

    My equipment never saves

Do your character reset to previous location?
  9. V2_Danny

    So, its Halloween...

My halloween was scary. My long lost tent came back to life after 1.7.3, haunting me, as the stuff that had been in it, but stolen, had reappeared, and it carried the holy FAL Mags.

That made my day. The confusion in the side channel after he shoots them. "wut". Well played trap, caught them completely by surprise XD
  14. This have might been posted in the wrong forum, but as i read the trubbleshooting it was only for asking help with problems, not posten preemptive treads. If i am incorrect about this, please move or lock this tread. Basicly ive noticed that your character data does not save when logging out from server to server on the official hives. Luckily there is a fix for it (its not the first time it has been used), and it basicly involves logging out twice. NOTE: this is only a problem on official hives as far as ive seen, i cannot speak for private hives. When you are done for the day(z), and want to log out, you do so normally, clicking abort, and then ok. When you get to the servers main hub (the one that lists player names and ping) do NOT press disconnect. Instead press ok, and go back into the server. That way your character should have been saved in the spot you logged out, and you can log out normally. I hope this was of any help NOTE: If this has just been me and my friends having a series of bad luck with loosing data tonight after 1.7.3 came out, and it is not something that has been an overall problem, please lock/remove this tread.

    DayZ Stories

(This is a story of my first time in namalsk, part one is located on page 80, this is part 2. The story is completely bound to what happended in the session, but liberties have been taken with details, for enhancement of story.) I wipe the slimy axe in my pants, and clear the blood of the handle, so as not to loose grip. I sit down in the abandoned factory, shuttering from the cold winds howling trough the open walls. "Nemsk материалы здание завода." "Орден. 230453 подписанный командующим Павлов." I glance in disbelief at the stack of bricks. Nemsk, i remember having read that somewhere. I yank the map from my bag, and sure enough, Nemsk is a factory on the eastern island of Namalsk. Finally having found out where i am, and decide to head for the old hospital, just a little hop up the road. Well not a literal hop, you get the meaning. I force myself up, unfreezing my already freezing limbs. I look at the 12 or so zombies i slaughtered to get into this building. I step outside, and wind instantly tears trough my bones. I force myself forwards, slowly crouching trough the gravel, and into the trees. About 5 minutes later i see the hospital in front of me. A big office building and a hospital is marked upon my map, and i start looting the office first. While sneaking around the 2nd floor, something catches my eye. A pickup truck is parked outside in the courtyard, and it seems to be in a fairly good condition. I sneak up on the top floor, wanting to take the ladder down to avoid zombie attention, a russian service pistol lies dead mid on the floor. I snatch the Makarov, and the magazines for it, quickly rushing down the ladder to claim my new price.
  16. The problem is that anyone who got in the games first, or had their own server that they kept clear untill thye had a big base with tons of guns. Then they would go to the coast and snipe anyone who got in, to make sure that they never ever had to pay again. It would make me never, ever go on a high pop server again, and never ever trust anyone again, not even someone i met on the forum, because killing someone is alot more fun if they actually loose something, so it would absolutely ruin the teamplay of the game.

Can someone tell me what killed me? (Video)

Definently someone with a large metal object capable of shooting small objects at high velocity. He also might have had a TP script.

    [TGL] The Gentlemen's Legion?

Age: 18 Playstyle/Character: Survivor, group Leader (I dont take orders that well, as i dont trust other peoples instincts) Country: Denmark Playtime: Since Early May. 300-400 hours. Guns: Battle Rifles (FAL, M14), Snipers and Scoped assault rifles. Driving: All cars, and i can fly a helicopter pretty well (Flying, and landing without damage) NOTE: I am a very busy person (tho i am able to play most of the days) so dont nag me if im not enough on. Also im not going to take orders from someone under my survival level (Im a very carefull player, and i have survived many PvP encounteres due to that.), so either i get someonething to say, or the squadron commander is skilled.

    Where's a safe Namalsk download?

SixUpdater Select mods and search @dayz, and then right click on Namalsk, scroll down to updater options, and select install/launch this mod. After installation you will have to launch the mod from SixUpdater, by again right clicking, going to updater options, and select launch.

    DayZ Stories

(This is a drama version of my first time playing namalsk. Starting on the coast, and ending with the explosion of 2 helicopters.) A cold wind tears trough my shirt, and im shaking. My hands are numb from the cold, and my nose is dripping. A bare, desolate hill, with barely a tree or animal standing upon it. Its foggy, and tiny drops of rain cling to my face and clothes. The wind blows again, and i swear i can hear a little girl laughing. I tell myself that my fantasy is getting the better of me, but the screams and laughter i find difficult to shake. I look down at my hands, grasping the bloodstained hatchet. The weapon had been imbedded in a zombies skull, and with much strength i had been able to release it. It was the only weapon left from the trip. I remember getting on the boat near Kamenka, with Andrew, and we had set of from the zombie infested country. After a couple of days at see, while looking trough the boats inventory, we found a map and coordinates for a closed Russian island, called Namalsk. We set our course for it, but ran into a powerfull storm, slowly tearing the boat apart. I remember the boat capsizing, and how cold the water was, and then waking up on the coast with a hatchet in my hand, and a map in my pocket. I am going to find out if i am on this island of namalsk, but i see someone walking, and they seem fairly unstable. I crouch towards the Russian soldier stampering forward, the gravel crounching under my every step. After some slow sneaking i get cloose enough to see his pale skin, and blood stained teeth. Here we go again.

    Robbing.

Never let them go, and make sure you have the advantage. If you had ran in on me and my buddy we would have moved left and right and opened fire. So make sure they have no chance of knowing where you untill they drop their guns.
  22. Note: I know that this is kind of an already used topic, but people are still complaining about hackers, and i wanted to give some tips on how to avoid them (i have yet to be killed my a hacker in dayz, playing weekly on official hives, though i have run into several of them.) I see many, many players putting up treads whining about beeing hacked to death (i am an avid Graveyard reader), and i thought i would make a sort of list on how to get around hackers for the maximum ammount of your playtime. This will only count for official hives, as private hives are often hacker free, and i would suggest for you to play on a private hive instead, as it will often solve the problems, but as for official hives, here we go: 1. Never join a server with many players on it. Especially European/American servers seems to have a large problem with hackers when they have a decent ammount of people on it. Run trough the rather empty servers 0-10 and find one that you can play on several times without anyone hacking. Be aware that these rather empty servers might have tents stashes quite often with really good/scripted gear in them, but keep your selfrespect and leave and/or destroy it. Ofcourse you can just take the equipment, but beeing well equipped can make the game boring, unless you have a purpose with it (see below). Now you have an official hive server to play on where you wont get hacked to bits. 2. Running around on a empty server will get boring at some point, no matter how many camps, airfields or cities you raid. Because its often decently empty or with only a moderate ammount of players, the PvP element is limited (not to say that it does not happen, but it wont be as often as some people like.) So assuming you get bored and want to go back to some PvP or a high pub server there is several ways to go: 2.1 Belive it or not there is a few official high pop servers that seems to avoid avoided that wave of hackers for now. Try searching in unusual regions (Russia is a good one) for a server to play on. Sure you might not understand the other players, but neither can the hackers, and they will not get as much satisfaction as Russian admins do not think so much about local bans (not from my experience anyway). If you look around enough, you will find one where the hacker activity is not hourly. Those you can play on without going back to your low pop server. 2.2 Switch to the first high pop official hive you can after having gotten the necessary gear from the low pop server. A map, a canteen, some food and a weapon or 2 will be enough, depends on your playstyle. If you then get killed by a hacker on the high pop server, you switch back to the first server, and gear up again, and then try a new (or the same) high pop server. Repeat untill bored. 2.3 Walk around supermarkets and churches untill you find a camping tent. Pitch it central to most of the spawnpoints, or pitch several along the spawnpoints (1-2 km inland) and stuff some gear and guns into them. If you then die, either on that server or the high population you where planning on joining, you can quickly gear up and get back in the action, but be aware that this will remove the looting aspect of the game, which is quite fun. 3. alt+f4 is one of your best friends when avoiding hackers. If the server suddenly has a massive lagspike, or you can hear voices even though you are sure the area is clear, hit the combination to exit the game. It is often possible to survive beeing teleported or someone teleporting to you if you log out quick enough, even if you are teleported into mid-air. Be aware that you need to be 100% sure someone has not legitly snuck up on you, or that your pc is not chugging frames. Because usage of the alt+f4 combination outside of avoiding hackers is frowned upon by the community, and you should avoid doing it at any cost. 4. Do not try to fight a hacker. Some of them might toy with you before wiping you out, others might just kill you instantly. Hackers can often teleport behind you, and they can often see trough all world geometry, so as you cannot hide behind a wall or a tree. You are not going to be winning the fight with a hacker, and it will only annoy you by getting killed by them. There is no shame in quitting to avoid hackers, if anything you are pissing them off, exactely what we should all do. Regulator Lone(Thanks for information): "Hackers cant teleport behind you if you put your back to a wall. If you must fight/ distract them for maybe a teamate who is wounded or needs to loot their body before the hacker hides it, distract the hacker with low level weapons and keep your back to a wall. They will attempt to teleport behind you at some point abd eiether end up on top of the building or stuck in a wall which can confuse them for 5-10 seconds at times giving you the time to log out as they tend to teleport to you if you return to your body and try to loot it, this will give you some precious seconds to grab your weapon and pack and get out of there." I hope this list of tips can help you avoid that deaths by those devious creatures that dare to call themselves "human". I give no warranty that this list will remove hackers from your gameplay, or that they will always work as ive described, but hopefully they should help taking the edge of. If none of the above tips helped you, find a well run private hive with active and fair admins, and play there. That will most likely solve your problem. Have a nice day.

Which games did you abandon for DayZ?

Call Of Duty mainly. I still play it, but the ammount of playtime is severely lowered.
  24. True but if you look along the severe ammount of treads/topics beeing posted every day complaining about hackers while playing on official hives. Also if you look my first suggestion is to play on a priv hive, that will remove most of the problems. I am just determined to stay on the official hives for now and i have had luck avoiding hackers for 1 month now using those tips mentioned above. You will be killed by scripters if they decide to just end you, there is pretty much no avoiding that. My list is more of a way to avoid running into the ammount you normally would, and to lessen the frustration when they kill you. Say if you have a camp of enough weapons to supply a small army and equipment to go with it, getting jacked by a scripter is not as frustrating as it would normally be. Also i wonder why you are giving us information about how to spot a scripter, and what potential methods they use, if its what you do to play the game? :P
  25. Ofcourse you will be killed by hackers if playing on an official hive. There is pretty much no way to avoid that. But some of the things i mention above can lower the ammount of times it happends. And regarding gearing up on a low pop server its more a meassure of having an easy time gearing up, and then going on a high pop. get hacked to death or manage ot avoid it, go no another high pop. (usually i stay on the same low pop server, i know its pretty safe playing.)
