You've summed it up right there at the end. They did it because the mod was at it's peak everyone knew what dayz was and waiting would lose them loads of money so they did an open alpha.

What a suprise another person on a forum pretending to be a programming god... He just doesnt want the player model created in the world untill after the game client has completed loading and you have control of your character. Think before you post.

I was fighting three zombies with a pipe wrench in 3rd person I got about 2 hits on 1 before I thought I'd try 1st person and they seemed to guy down like flys (3-4 hits) instead of 10-12 at least is this the same for anyone else ?

This is a good idea but they are infected people not the undead so that's why they don't try to bite you they just hit you, so there is no need to have zombies eating corpes. But what you said about the noise attracting them is perfect ! But if you have a suppressor is should severly decrease the amount of zombies that hear it but the gun should be less powerful like in most fps games. -
Hey guys, when you play the game do you really feel like you are in an apocalypse? yeah there isn't many people around and there is blood on the floor etc. But if there was an apocalypse I would imagine there being huge refugee camps and roads blocks with destroyed houses and more signs of looting and fire damage etc. i know it's in alpha and I'm not complaining I'm just wondering whether anyone else shares my opinion.

Whenever I'm playing DayZ, I'll be running down a field twoards the next town or city to do some looting. While I'm running down the field however I'm continuously holding alt and looking around me for bandits or zombies etc.. Although I do look ahead as well ! My question is I never see zombies coming I just suddenly hear them and they are right next to me ? Is this something to do with my settings or do I need to be even more observent?

Can't wear a T-shirt if wearing a hoodie? 1 layer gets damp at a time?

I know this has been posted but I have another idea as well that links in :D. Ive noticed you can't wear a t shirt when you are wearing a hoodie or raincoat? You should be able to wear a tshirt, hoodie and a raincoat all at the same time and when you get hit by a zombie etc and start bleeding the layers closest to your body get damp with blood first so not everything is soaked instantly because that isn't realaistic at all.. And vice versa with rain your hoodie should get damp before your tshirt ? Unless you are wearing a raincoat and as long as it is only pristine / worn it keeps you dry. Anything less than that it starts to let water through?
