I like it but I wouldn't go to crazy with the tent spawn rate, it should still be rare. I'd love to see drivable RV's.

"flying/knocking/pushing back" I don't care how we call it, there is none of those... I showed my reference why a .50 cal won't push you back, now if YOU say a bullet will knock back a human (or animal) target, the YOU should show the proof, not ME. I'm not going to search for your non-existent proof. But hey, do you want to see more proofs? In those Videos some people shoot deer with a 50 cal BMG and there is NO knock back effect, they just drop to the ground...
-
Well, then show me your references. You also said the .50 cal will knock somebody back a few feet... Maybe you watch Mythbusters Season 3 Episode 21. They shoot a dummy with a .50 cal and made sure he took ALL the kinetic energy and he flew back 2,5 inches... A .50 probably needs only 10% (rather less) of it's energy to penetrate a body, which is then the total force applied to the body, so there is noy "flying back".

I think the MP5 is already good enough. Such a magazine would just make it overpowered. Its an automatic weapon that fits into your backpack, so it's basically a second "primary" weapon. I know it's weaker but with the insane rate of fire and low recoil a 100 round mag would make this weapon too good. Maybe the downside could be that with the magazine attatched it doesn't fit into the backpack anymore. If the 100 round mag makes it into the game I'd still take it :P

Hi, Very simple, artificial bait which you can use "unlimited" times. Since live baits work better in reality, the "hook with the worm" should have a better catch rate than the artificial bait. Additionally, each catch should damage the fishing lure a bit, because in reality the same happens, ripping the hook out of the fish damages the hooks. So for each x (x=3 sounds good to me) catches the artificial hook should switch to the next worse condition (pristine > worn). Maybe also the catch rate could depend on the condition of the artificial bait (makes also sense to me). Maybe the artificial bait should be even more rare than the usual hook because it seems like the better item to me. I'm not a fishing pro, so maybe someone who's more experienced can add something or correct me :)

Hi, This is different from the "shout" suggestions that have been posted here so read first. I actually like the idea that you can shout with a button (instead of talking) but I somehow doubt that this will find a way into the game. If they should implement the "shouting" via microphone solution, I'd prefer that of course. So my "shout" solution: Something like the animations on the "F" keys (waving, pointing, sit down, etc.), but with different sounds, so a scream, shouting some words, whistling, a battlecry. An idea for the key combination could be Alt + (Any "F" key). Those "shouting" sounds could be louder than the usual talk function or people could be able to hear them in a longer distance. This would probably be easier to implement.

HAHAHAHAHAHA, you're a funny guy. We were talking about the 50 cal, which is probably too big that it will ever appear in DayZ, but you're taking the .700 Nitro Express as a reference, are you kidding me? For everyone who doesn't know what a .700 Nitro Express is, here is a picture: We are talking about a bullet, which could be used to shoot down airplanes or penetrate amored vehicles, it generates 20,000 J of force (for comparison M4 ammo has 1,700 J of force). So, please get a reference with a 50 cal, then we can keep talking. BTW, I'm not sure if this bullet would knock the target back, because again, the ammount of energy which is put on the body is only the ammount it needs for the bullet to penetrate the body, which is only a small fraction of the energy this bullet has. In the video ALL the energy is put on the shooter, so that's why it knock them back.

Hi, If gasoline is coming with the vehicles, open fire in the world will probably come too. It would be fun to make lines of gasoline and then light them up. Maybe they'll make torches or fire arrows too, just stuff that burnes... Maybe they will make burning houses and wildfires (stuff that has been suggested) So my question to everyone, Should the zeds fear the fire? Whydo I ask that? Well, if you'd set a zed on fire, what does "it" do? If I make a circle of gasoline, light it up and stand in the middle, will the zed still reach me or will he stop in front of the fire? Will they just run through fire (or even burning houses if they should implement them), or will they try to avoid them? Does that work with the new navmesh system? This could influence gameplay and would give fire arrows or molotow cocktails a whole new meaning.
-
In the mod, zeds had loot. I think they will add it again
-
Haha, yeah I didn't hink that through Well, I'm not a fan of those "here is a list of suggestions" posts, because when somebody else has the same or a similar idea, it's harder for them to find it, especially with the bad search engine. Anyways I posted two topics not ten, so that's not even close to "filling the radio box"

Hi, This is very simple, an arrow that burns. When hitting a player, animal or zed it could set them on fire (probably unrealistic for the animal) or inflict some extra damage, or it could set other stuff (buildings, trees, bases, tents, etc) on fire if they are able to burn later in this game. A fire arrow could be craftable with an arrow, a rag, and something that burns (gasonline, alcohol, etc.). And before shooting it it has to be lit with a match (or whatever starts a fire). NOTE: I was quite surprised that this hasen't been suggested before, so I hope I didn't fail to find the topic where somebody suggested this already.
-
Yeah, I guess making people or zeds burn only works when they are soaked in gasoline :P My bad At night, like some of you mentioned, it would be a great addition, especially when some objects can burn.
-
Yep, I'd like that too. But there isn't really any place to hide besides closets. The jump-out-of-the-window solution should have a downside though, maybe a risk of injury. I'd also like the idea of climbing down a gutter, if there is one available.
-
Well, I've showed the reference, where they prove that you don't get knocked back. Where's your reference? What? I think my answer would be "fall down and be dead", because thats how it is, but I'm not sure if I understood your question...
-
There are plenty of topics where you can discuss that, here is one http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/201126-having-2-primaries-on-back-instead-of-primarie-and-a-melee/ I think it's coming, since bayonets are already implemented, this idea would be a nice addition.
-
In addition, you shouldn't be able to catch rain while sprinting. I do that quite often, but it's kind of unrealistic :P

I just leave this uncommented... http://mythbustersresults.com/episode38

If you are reffering to the "filter", this is chemicals causing the salt to chrystalize. This link is great, could have saved a lot of confusion  :beans: Same here, so I did some research First of all those "filters" are no real filters. The process works as following: You fill the bag with salt water and add the chemicals which remove the salt from the solution in the water, causing the salt to be crystallized. In the bottom of the bag there is a filter which lets the water through but not the salt anymore because the crystals are to big now. There are two problems with those kits, they are very expencive ($600 for a new one) and therefore rare, maybe the ship in the north east could be a good spot for them. They are even so rare that there is no video on youtube of somebody trying them out. Second problem, it takes usually an hour until all the water is desalted, maybe this can be ignored for the game. I couldn't find the answer for the question how "good" the water is, but they only say it gives you unsalted water which saves you from dehydration, so I guess it's "better than nothing". If I understood it correctly, the chemicals "replace" the salt in the solution but no guarantee that this is correct, I'm not a chemistry pro. :P But so far I like those kits, but I agree with the others here, dehydration is usually not a problem in DayZ (so far). It would probably be harder to find such a kit than to find water.

Hi, It would be so awesome if there would be syringe darts (tranquilizer dart), which you could shoot with a blowpipe or an air rifle. Imagine all the fun, you could fill the syringe with whatever you want; poison, anesthetics, alcohol, air, water or anything thats liquid. Kind of, "Hey, what happens if I put this liquid into a human body?" :P It would be a nice stealth weapon for hunting and trolling (or even killing) other players. Normal "blowpipe darts" could be used as decoise for zombies. A compatible air rifle/gun would also be nice, but I don't know if it generally would be worth the space to take those, maybe in the early game. But air rifles and guns are lounder but have a way better range. Effects of the different fillings for the syringe: - Poison should kill after some time. Maybe treatable with antibiotics (not sure if that works, I doubt it though) - Anesthetics make unconscious after some time. Maybe treatable too. - Alcohol makes you drunk, since "being drunk" is coming, it would be funny to make random people drunk :P - Air causes air embolism, which can be deadly. More dangerous if the player doesn't lay down (tratment for air embolism is to lay down on the left side), sometimes reanimation required. - Water (depending how clean it is) makes you sick. Maybe the syringe darts could also be fired with the crossbow, I think it should work. (Maybe instead of the air rifle) Syringe dart: (These rifles are gas poweres, but air-compressed exist too) EDIT: Sorry guy, I just saw there are plenty tranquilizer topics, I didn't search for "tranquilizer" (stupid translation programm), but this is still somehow different ssince I focus on the "filling" of the dart ;)
-
Sounds nice, didn't think about that. Maybe if they add some kind of poison, one syringe should be enough. And remember it goes directly to the blood in full concentration
-
Well those darts are reusable in real life. Don't worry, I'm a nice guy :P

Sorry for posting two very similar topics, but after I've posted the first one, I had this idea. In my opinion "force feeding" handcuffed people adds a nice fun factor to the game (maybe not that much fun for the handcuffed guy :P). To take this even further, why not inject random substances with a syringe? Basically you could put any liquid into the syringe and inject it to anyone (also yourself). Also injecting air should be possible, which causes air embolism. The reactions should be "realistic", like getting drunk when injecting alcohol. What do you think?
-
Well, with that kind of impact you're dead anyways :P I think it's not unrealistic when you get shot with a smaller caliber that you know where the wound is, and therefore a statusmessage should appear. Maybe something like this: "I think I got shot in the left side of my stomach" It's only an estimate, and still doesn't tell you the exact direction, maybe somebody manages to hit you on the left side of your stomach from standing at 10 or 11 o'clock (with my example message). Maybe a "check" action could tell you more about the direction where the bullet came from when inspecting the wound, but this obviously would force you to stop running.
-
BTW: This, "Let's put random liquids into a human." should be available for the basic syringe too. Like feeding bad food to handcuffed people. EDIT: I made a topic for that.

Well, if you have those "filters", you'd be the richest person on this planet, because this would solve all the world's water problems. Even richer areas like California have a huge water problem and don't really use filter techniques. There is a way to "filter" salt water, but this technique requires a lot of energy and high tech membranes. With a lot of pressure the salt water is pumped through those membranes, which only let the water molecules through and filter salt and bacterias, this is called reverse osmosis. You can't make the reverse osmosis on your own with some "kit", it requires high tech industrial equippment and a crazy amount of electricity. They even try to make electricity now with osmosis (putting salt water and normal water together), this shows the crazy amount of electricity needed for reversing it.
