Works too, but that's not my point. In my opinion, this feature is way to overpowered right now, so they will probably change it as more water sources will find their way into the game, but let's not talk about balancing. They will add polluted water to the game at some point, which will make the search for water more difficult, so more ways to collect or find water seem a good addition to the game for me.

Ok, three things: 1. Suggesting and complaining about mistakes are two different things! Suggesting is making a SUGGESTION about how new features could improve the gameplay, whereas complaining is about telling the Dev's what is not working. 2. "Complaining about mistakes" belonges to the bug report section, not the suggestion part! I found EXACTLY THIS TOPIC (!!!) on the bug report page. Guess what, is was posted in Februrary this year. So insead of spamming the forum with an irrelevant post about an obvious bug*, which has already been reportet 7 months ago, you could have added your comment there and upvoted that post. http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=8830 3. Think about this, the devs just added some ambient sounds, to create a placeholder for a proper ambient sound system in the game. Since there are more important tasks right now they won't focus on a minor issue, which is rather cosmetic, than an actual bug (like glitching zombies) or more important features in the game (barricading, cars, etc.). So what is more important in your opinion? Some ambient sounds or key elements of the game? Of course it is justified with alpha. I can't understand why people keep asking for minor details to be working instead of key elements of the game. I hope they won't fix this problem until they have all thier main features in the game (cars, barricading, building, etc). If they start adressing this problem, they have less ressources on more important topics, which would be really stupid! So yes, this is ALPHA and that's the reason why a "bug"*, like this is irrelevant. If people don't like the ambient sounds, they sould wait until they are fixed in late alpha or beta and stop whining about them (which is not a suggestion). * It's actually not a bug, it's rather a placeholder for a proper ambient sound feature.

I'd like to see something craftable like this: It should be quite hard to build, so that it takes a few people to build: - 8 Sticks - 4 Ropes - 1 Stone (weight for the tarp) - 1 tarp - 1 conatiner (container size should be variable) With that rain collector, water collecting should be quite fast. Downside should be that the water can be poisoned if somebody finds the collector. Rainbarrels should be in chernarus: At least where I live they are quite common. They should function as a water source but the water should be undrinkable sometimes (too old, posoned, etc.)

None of this is planned. They think about a new map but their plan is to release the tools so that there will be player generated maps.

I'd love to see them, one per server would be nice. Should require some additional parts to function, instead of "crafting" it. This is alpha, I know the fence sounds with no fences around are stupid, but the sound team is currently working on the phantom zed sounds (which I think is way more important to be fixed), so give them some time. They surely are smart enough to make sounds "logical" (and I bet it's planned), but how can you COMPLAIN about something, which is not working, in the SUGGESTIONS topic of an ALPHA stage game?!?!?! So please, for the love of rasputin kvass, make a suggestion that is not related to the fact, that the dev team just hasn't had the time to implement the system properly!!!

Sniper silencer is USELESS on long range. Silencers only work if the bullet travels at sub-sonic speed, otherwise the sonic boom makes so much noise, that the need for the supression of the explosion is needless. Hi, I know blankets have been mentioned in some topics, but with the new "body temperature" system, blankets got a new meaning. I think everyone has experienced the trouble of getting cold in the beginning. Especially with no fireplace, the cold can become a serious issue. So my suggestion, you can take a blanket and cover yourself in it and sit somwhere to get warm. While doing that you warm up slowly, but you can't do anything else but eating and drinking. There should be different kind of blankets, with differnt up- and down sides: - Emergency/space blanket: Warm up quickly, low amount of inventory space (1x1), water resistant, highly visible, noisy - Wool blanket: Warm up quickly, more inventroy space (2x1), not water resistant, visible depending on color, not noisy - Down comforter: Warm up very quickly, much inventory space (3x3), not water resistant, visible, not noisy Space/emergency blankets: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/177487-items-and-gear-i-would-love-to-see-in-sa/?hl=%2Bspace+%2Bblanket#entry1820800

Right now they only exist in the mod. Plus I described a different functionallity (what my topic is about). I don't like the idea of, "use it -> cure immediately". Plus, they are reusable ;) so unlike the mod, there wouldn't be a need for them to spawn everywhere, they could be more rare. Also a nice idea Additionally: Space / emergency / heat blanket (whatever they are called) should fit into the first aid kid, that's where they usually are (in real life).

I think we all need to remember that the "heat system" is still very young, so let's give the devs some time. Regarding the layers, I'd like to see socks.

I like most, but some are just too unrealistic... - Soda can knife? Probably only good for poking holes into paper - I'd like to see you make a Rock knife by breaking a rock with another rock. - With such an improvised axe you can't chop anything, it would be good for hurting someone, but that's it

Finally a well researched and written article, sadly this has become very rare. I like your ideas, but I wouldn't make it too complex, the game is still played by many players who don't have such knowledge about grenades (like me :P). In my opinion instantaneous fragmentation grenades are just "too much".

Hi, Everyone I know who plays DayZ (including me) struggled with the controls of the game when playing it for the first time. For me it even led to dying a few times when it got very hectic and I didn't know which button to press. So it would be nice if you can get in thouch with the controls in the main menu. My idea, make all movement options available for the character that currently only can be rotated. This way a new player can try out all the controls without any pressure or somebody who hasn't played for a longer peroid can get back into the controls easily. A few examples: - Walking and running (character should stay on the spot; kind of run without moving) - All body movements (sit down, lay down, stand up, lean left/right) - Step/jump over fence (without the fence but the movement is clear enough that anybody understands) - Fight mode (should be according to the weapon the character is holding), aiming mode (look through scope) - Fire gun/rifle or use the melee weapon (depending on what is in the characters hands by deafault and should not consume ammo) - Use flashlights - Throw (Object should respawn in the hand after a few seconds) - All the F-animations should also work (like F3 for "sit down")

Yeah changing the controls is useful, but most of the time I do that when I played a while and know whats important to me (removing throw from "G" :P). Well, first time I died I tried to jump over a fence like crazy with "Space" while I was running away from a guy chasing me with an axe. The other thing I remember is that I acidentally double tapped "Shift" and was wondering why my character was walking instead of jogging, since you can't fight while sprinting I lost a fight to a zombie because I could only walk :P. It's a bit frustrating if you're new to the game and die because you're not used to the controls. Of course dying wasn't really too bad because I just started playing but it takes out some fun in the beginning.

Yeah that's been suggested before (http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/184864-optional-tutorial). But in my opinion this takes out the excitement of discovering DayZ. If I get told right away what I can find and do, it seems kind of boring to me. For learning what and how to craft I'd rather use google and YouTube. This doesn't mean I don't like a tutorial, I just wouldn't use it. For me such a "playing with a character" would be a quick way to try and learn the mechanics and then I'd just head into the game ;)

Yeah I thought about that too but this is usually a lot of work and a very late game feature. That way learning is surely easier, but if you just want to get used to it again you don't have to start a whole tutorial. Personally I never do tutorials so this suits me a lot more. Especially when you show somebody the game you can quickly pick up the controls. Besides, it's a good toy to play around with while waiting for someone :P

Since we are talking about what happens to dead bodies, what about zeds eating corpses? (Or pretending with an animation) Would be scary to hear that sound behind the corner in the city
