If H1Z1 will have squads and clans at early access why ...
dtrain7055 (DayZ) replied to Demonio (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Close proximity, line of sight, friendly recognition. No icons halfway across the map. I say within 50 meters and shows only with clear line of sight. And it be a small indicator. Nothing outlining them but maybe like a little red arm band appears or something just an example really could be anything... but something small. That will make it so if your group is in combat you could very well miss the arm band and shoot your mate. -
So i have come to the conclusion that dayz really is supposed to be PVP

So i was sitting there thinking what next? i am geared pretty much have everything that i need and almost all that i want. i can easily survive now, gotten really good with the fire axe to the head of zeds, dont even really keep food on me because i can always just go get some really quick and eat it then. The reason i see this as a pvp game that is just a little more involved comes from the core of every movie or show with zombies... the intrigue of the human dynamic in it. look at the walking dead for ex. we spend all season watching them run around talking to eachother searching for others and a means to survive. ultimately though we want to see what happens with the other bad guys most recently terminus. the zombies are cool but i ultimately think that the whole facination with the zombie appocolypse is not really the zombies but the fact that it is a pure lawless state and who you are decides your actions. there is no law there is no jury... there are just survivors who make choices every day that decided if another human is safe or is dead. if the walking dead only featured a group of survivors that only killed zombies and never had danger from other humans it would have lasted MAYBE 2 seasons. so the only thing you have to decided when playing this game is do you die a hero? or live long enough to see yourself become the villain? -
So how will Modding work? Only experience I have had was skyrim so It didn't have the mmo aspect. Do u just mod your server and when I play on that server the mods are present for all? Different game types and such?

I am still relatively new to this game but I was curious as to how you go about looting. I have learned quickly what to do and not do when going into town for loot and here are my ideas from playing with newer players than myself. 1. Always know how many empty slots you have available. I have seen too many people rush into a building find something then spend precious moments trying to decide what to drop in order to pick stuff up. 2. Now what your looking for and how many slots you will need to get it. Not all the time you will no what you will run across but having a good idea and preparing yourself for maybe running into it is key. 3. Always double click the item. Dragging and dropping the item is time consuming and while you are in menu someone could be coming to kill you. (Trust me I know) 4. Always be alert and aware of your surroundings. Organizing inventory while in a military hot zone is stupid and you should always be moving quickly and knowing what or who is around you. So these are what I think you should do.... what do u guys think?

im not really saying that its pvp deathmatch, take no prisoners, kos, and everything else. im saying it is pvp but you have many ways to go about it. i just got done playing hardcore today for a few hours... loved it. was on a full 40 person server and most of the interactions werent kos. did i get killed? yes. did i meet some people who just wanted to team up? yes. did i get betrayed? yes. but no matter the situation it all comes down to pvp. i have met some cool people in this game so far a lot more bandits, kos people i think will get bored and stop playing eventually or get bored enough to RP and try to actually rob someone or something... whatever floats your boat. if you are playing to get geared up and are so scared to lose your gear that you take to the hills and hide from others than what is the point of the game? if this was a survival simulator with no intent of pvp then why make it an MMO. i used to be the same trust me. get geared up, hide in the woods and all that. now i run up to people because i dont care if i die and see what happens. today i ran into a new spawn, he tried to lie and say his friends were outside and tried to take my stuff. hit him in the head like 6 times with a machete. he knocked me unconcious a few times lol but i ultimately won and got my stuff back. ran into him again and he tried again same result. then got capped by some random dude that kos... totally ruind what had just went down for the last 10 min between me and this other guy. after i respawn was running down the street and a bambi was following me. ran into town and seen a dead body, looked to my right and there was an armed guy in the street who was at another dead body going through his stuff. ran up and knocked him out with my fists and ran him for all his gear. the bambi seen this then tried to knock me out and take the stuff off of me so i knocked him out. after they both lay there unconcious i ran to elecktro. ran into the city seen more dead people so i ran into the hospital and seen a guy sniping people so i ran up behind him and knocked him out with my fists and now am fully kitted with a mosin maxed out with attachments a fire ax, the works. the absolute most fun i have had playing this game so far. im not going to knock people who want to just "survive" but i have found that interacting with others is essential to the survival of this game. without it everyone will just stop playing and it will always just be an alpha. -

your post talks about helis and i was talking to the people who were discussing it... anyway i think they have already talked about putting bikes and other vehicles into the game soon. me personally i would love to use a bike, trucks and things will bring too much attention to yourself. -

yeah thats what i was trying to get at. im still pretty new never having played the mod and having about 80 hrs in the SA. i too kinda thought there was more than just pvp at first. now i see that no matter what they do or add in this game that will always be the most important dynamic ultimately. now can they add things that make it more likely for people to trust eachother and try to work together more sure. will interactions with other players always the be most fun thing in this game to do ... sure. but without bandits there can be no heros and vice versa. you need both to make this game work. the KOS people are what they need to work on fixing -

maybe they can enter in a dynamic that if the add helis you will die trying to fly them unless you find all the rare books to increase your knowlege on flying them. right now they have books that have pretty much no reason for being there. you must find all the books on how to fly to teach your in game character or you wont be able to fly them. -
So I think I have come up with a solution to how zombies spawn with and a punishment for killing other players as it were. Every time a player is killed a zombie takes his place. There will still be a decent amount of zombies and random spawns but the more killing of players in an area means more zombies in that area.

When I first got the game I hot the same message. Didn't know what I was doing and joined a night server. Couldn't see much so I jumped from that server to another one which was hard core so I jumped again to a regular day time server. I was banned by all servers in Chicago apparently for it. Which doesn't really matter but is shitty because I've never been banned by a game for anything before and two I got banned because I was a Noob who didn't know any better and was jumping servers trying to find the one I wanted. The only thing I can say brother is fuckm plenty of other servers

Not doing it right then... even with the zombies now the only time I have issues is when they glitch. I am a Noob and I guess technically been killed by a zombie once ( bleeding out zed ruined my bandages and ran around forever trying to find some before falling unconscious) I beat them all day with my fists. I was unaware of how they played the story out about a virus instead of the whole undead thing. But I would think that if they were able to figure out a risk vs reward dynamic like that it would be right there along with the rest of the game. Everything really is risk vs reward. It would also make people think twice about killing for no reason and people committing suicide because they don't like the spawn point. There are so many positives. Not to mention the larger cities where people kill others a lot would be causing themselves a zed problem. It is the best way to balance ... well everything

Lol that would be awesome. If u wanted to snipe someone for loot you better haul Ass lol
-
Lmao killing your own kind my friend lol

I didn't even know about the military barracks in the woods to the south west until I seen a video of it. I always just stopped at the airfield and tent city across the street and no farther west. I'll have to check that out
-
Yeah I haven't played much high pop servers just trying to get used to the controls. Just tried one today and man I traveled all around the coast because I felt ready to meet people and interact... negatively or positively. No one! Not even in elecktro. Came by the airfield still didn't see anyone. Thought the coast was supposed to be the most populated but I could just have about looted everything on the way down and would have been good. Didn't even take a pop shot from a sniper... guess the new spawn points really make the south coast a lot easier to loot from.
-
Still need to try that... The whole running up to someone geared up and knocking them out... I'm sure they feel like shit when they wake up and have nothing

Sorry for my typing errors btw. Its from my phone while at work during lunch break so it was a quick one.

What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
dtrain7055 (DayZ) replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
There are hackers for sure.... can't tell you how many low pop servers I've been on with like one other person in it and they always seem to be where I am. There is less than a 5% chance of running into someone when there is only two people on the server but they are always where I am. The odds of that are almost impossible. -

I am new to this game... only have played for the last 4 days. I am on my 8th character. One was learning the keys so that doesn't really count but it's a life non the less. Second got fully geared out finally got a m4 was looting and got so used to not seeing people I let my guard down. Guy followed me in the building and shot me while organizing my equipment. Noob mistake! Third another KOS while trying to be friendly. And so on... u get the picture. I have been KOs on friendly servers with my weapon put on my back ( because why on a friendly server would I need to have it ready) KOS on no bandit KOS servers. And it all remains the same no matter where u got. I watched you tube thought that though there are assholes there are also good people. I've met ONE. and the only reason we actually got to playing together was because I was a fresh spawn and he didn't fear me. I didn't want it all to be rainbows but wtf... people with I'll intent can't at least say something, Rob me whatever instead of KOs all the time? So now unless I am absolutely certain I will do the same and KOs unfortunately and I suggest to new players you do too.

Easiest way is to not open the game launch steam. Go to your friends that are playing right click and select join game. Takes u right into the game they are in

Ok so wow... surprised I got this many people joining in. I wasn't loo mi ING for drama btw to that one poster I was looking for that role playing aspect... seeing as that's what this game or any game is all about. Ok so if people were wondering what has be of me I have a story. I was spawned in, just to the east of the NW airfield I was running through the field wide open but using what little trees I had at my disposal for some cover. I have my sks ready at all times now ready to raise at a moments notice. I have learned to be vigilant now, watching, looking, identifying possible sniper points and routs in which players might take. I look to the right of me and at my 3 o'clock two armed men running in the field looking to loot the small town also to my right. I then decided to stalk to keep them in sight, to make sure I have the advantage this time. I run to the town I and see them enter the police station. Seeing this I decide to run to my left behind cover move across the street and weave my way to the station coming from behind them. I was thinking this is it. I'm going to kill my first player let alone two of them. I then get some zombie aggro so I was forced to displace and Axe him down. Oh no! I lost sight of them I may no longer have the advantage. I then loop my way around the back of the station to see if they exited from the side door... they did so I now know they are moving west through town. I cross the street and cut behind a house and there they are. In the piano house running around so Un aware they are being watched, so unsuspecting. I lean the corner ADS. I see them, running around, right in my sights. As I think of pulling the trigger, thinking of all the KOS I have endured, all the rotten as people who deserve to eat a bullet. I start to pull the trigger but the strangest thing happened. I put my gun down and simply withdrew to the rear. I wasn't ready to get my first player kill today, not like this... no evidence that they were anything other than people just trying to survive. I was in no danger I had the jump on them, they had no idea. I just couldn't do it. So I guess I didn't join the KOS ranks after all. I didn't become another KOS story where killing them first so they don't kill is my first and only thought. Like so many others who got tired of it they joined in I can honestly say this day in dayz I became a survivor in more ways than one.

Well it still infuriates me when I watch you tube videos of people KOS. I think it's Fucked up considering you can just spawn into any server from where u last started and just wait for supplies to come to u while holding down say the military base. I still don't want to be a KOS type of guy but damn I'm tired of finally getting shit and then dead. I watched the videos and thought hey if I get robbed cool, hey if I get in a gunfight because a guy tried to rob me whatever. I think KOS passes me off most because there is no interaction taking place. I thought the different dynamics where interesting with ggroups struggling to survive some bad some good but ultimately requiring more interaction before the given conclusion. Maybe death, maybe robbery, maybe friendly, but at least some interaction to get caught up in that gets u going. KOS has no role play to it which like I said is what probably leaves me so dissatisfied. Oh that was it? I'm dead? Wow how anticlimactic was that?
