When I first started, and I'll admit I did some server hopping back then (my 1st 75 hours or so,) I would aim for the emptiest servers and I'd keep checking the server list. Every time another person joined my heart would beat a lil faster. Now (~375 hours in) I always go hardcore w/ the highest populations, especially if there are experimental servers up. I want as much interaction with other players as possible, and I never shoot first.

I got stuck in the 2nd floor middle room of the police station. I kept shooting out the window hoping I'd get someone's attention. Ended up logging out facing the door, then spamming W when I relogged; that always works for me.

Generally I avoid the Berenzino deathmatch but especially on Experimental when I have a new AK and 75 round mags to play with. You'll NEVER find me.

Alright, but if you're not at least on the level of Mr. Blackout or FrankieonPC then I shall not sub. Edit: Video's are quite short. Edit 2: I've watched them all, so far I've seen you do little interaction. Just a bunch of KOS videos. My advice, less music and more talking. But I was surprised by that food/water glitch.

Gotta love all the bullshit excuses from unskilled KOS noobs for their play style. But in all honesty, I love you guys. You give me a reason to kill, you excite me when I now can demonstrate my ability to sneak up on you, you ruin my clothing giving me more reason to explore to get my rare look back, you give me a reason to protect (or avenge) your kills. You KOS noobs complete me, without you the game would be rather boring. Every hero needs a villain.

I care about realistic Caliber choices.

I've seen them mostly in the wide open fields running between towns, but also I see that zombies have been attacking them so... if you're on an old server they may all be dead.

Since most foods give you water (except rice, cereal, dehydrated milk, etc...) don't bother drinking anything until you're fully energized. "Don't fill up on water" as Momma used to say.

Survive, practice stealth, the challenge of stalking someone down for some interaction unnoticed while maintaining the higher ground if they're uncooperative or the KoS type. I enjoy teamwork, covering someone while they search for something we need. Or baiting bandits/KOS with a fresh spawn partner, then sniping them. I enjoy gearing up, running the map looking for my favorite rares (Press Vest, Engraved 1911, Rider's Jacket, etc...) rather than server hopping. There are a great many ways to enjoy this game, even if its just large groups of people running around being silly for YouTube purposes. You don't need to play this game KOS style.

Until the red dot on the FN gets fixed, the 1911. It just sounds so good. When we had that constantly spawning zombie problem, I stuck to the Amphibia S 22LR

I hate when I find one and its badly damaged. IMO the Engraved 1911 is the rarest. Just lost my first and only yesterday, i crouched to shoot a zombie with it and another I didn't see came from behind and hit me once in the head. Instant "You are dead" I had no helmet, just the red star cap you see in my avatar picture. I was so mad that I spawned in Svetlo and couldn't make it to Cherno in time to get it back; It was a completely maxed out character in terms of rare items (press vest, 1911, impro backpack, Rider's jacket, etc..)

IKR, the glitched out audio has made me refuse to rely on it. DayZ has been the boy who cried wolf one too many times for me.

I disagree with the OP. DayZ is what we make it. Its not just PVP, its a guy running around RP'ing as Morgan Freeman. Its every DayZ youtube video, every friendly encounter and its also the joy of killing some KOS'er who took at pot shot at you without any interaction. If you only play DayZ to shoot people, 99% of the time you must really be bored. I however enjoy the challenge of not killing on sight but stalking someone and interacting when holding the advantage.

My worst moment, being fully geared. Flanking a guy who took a shot at me, I come up behind him and have a clean shot then my computer lags for some reason or another for a full 2 seconds and I cannot move or shoot. When I regain control and try to take aim he's already turned around and gets me before I can click. Dammit computer... time for an SSD. Or to turn off all scanning software because I think that might have been it.

My hardcore character I play with friends in populated areas, watching from the hills; hunting for bandits/KOS. Am @ 350 hours played. Most of those hours were played using a Camo Mosin w/ LRS/Bipod on both chars. I've grown tired of the long range sniping, less fun to me. I like to spot, stalk and hold up; Then help if possible.
