What makes you think that is what I did? I spent most of my time running between Military Bases, Airfield and Major Cities, also helping my clan. That character was shot at least a dozen times, yet still survived. Its not hard to not die in this game.

This argument is as fallacious as those who claim global warming couldn't be happening because it still snowed near them. Your one experience (with common mags no less) does not make it so that everyone else's experiences never happened. A data point of one does not constitute a trend.

What worked for me was running FRAPS for my FPS and tuning the settings as high/pretty as I could without the framerate dropping below 30fps in Svetlo. Some things I could crank and not only did my FPS not go down much, but in a few cases improved on higher settings. Your graphics card is a factor, but IIRC there are many other settings that are processor dependent, or when switched to low shift the burden from one to the other.

Aside from bug fixes?: 1. Persistence and barricading/base building. 2. Vehicles Right now I'd settle for a bike and my tent persisting on my clan's server. Have you played the mod? Epoch or Overpoch in particular? You can break down barricades, cut them down with chainsaws, drive through walls with a tank, or just shoot up the house (bullets penetrate.)

Its easy on Stable, not experimental. I like it when loot is more scarce, really increases the satisfaction of finding something. It also hurts the KOS / Berezino-Deathmatch crowd, which also brings me satisfaction.

Am @ ~700 hours in, only met one hacker, was like a month ago. Met quite a few dupers though.

I wish they'd implement some kind of damage over time until one bandages (and presumably removes the bolt/arrow)

Given the impending wipe, I've decided to switch back to stable and enjoy my unicorns and their gear/tents. Now I'm not the KOS/DM/Bandit type, so rather than rushing off into combat I figured my kit not being ruined might be a fresh change from the complete lack of loot @ NWAF on DayZ US Northeast 0-5 (Experimental/Testing) (50.97.34.99:2302) They're in the last jail before the tents: Full kit includes: AKM (no mags or ammo, sorry) Sawed Off, tons of ammo and a speedloader Mak (no mags or ammo) Wood Axe LRS and Grass Wrap Improvised Pack All black clothing, sunglasses Boonie hat w/ fishing hook Military Boots Med kit: Splint, Bandages and Rags Canteen, Lamp, Sewing Kit, Compass, Matches I hope they make someone's day, because there's NOTHING else @ NWAF. Oh also there's a crash site on opposite side of NWAF, you can't miss it. EDIT: Oh I forgot to mention, I'm doing something similar w/ my 1st person expansion server. Will bump w/ that server name, location and details.

Yes there are maps in game, I also prefer to use http://dayzdb.com/map or the Android App Dayz Central As others have said, look for a road sign at the outskirts of the town you're in/near.

This game doesn't take place in America, why would you expect to find .45 ACP more or even in equal numbers to the Mak?

Whats wrong w/ Overpoch?

I find rope being rather common. The trees are EVERYWHERE. Don't just look for the short round one, the tall version can be spotted most everywhere if you know what it looks like: Feathers are something of a pain though, hard to find chickens. I wish their coops spawned feathers.

I rather enjoy the thrill of stalking someone to make an encounter. Ill show up with my weapon out, if they're unarmed or claim to be friendly I'll make the gesture of putting away my weapon to feel them out, judge them by their voice or actions. If they draw on me, or have a partner who takes a shot, I rather enjoy the thrill of pulling it out of the fire. Sure I don't always win, but I'm always getting better. The interactions are worth the risk.

Don't confuse balking at the justifications for KOS playstyles, or the "This is the only way DayZ is meant to be played" arguments with complaining about bandits/KOS types. I love you losers, without you who else would I have justification to shoot. A hero needs a villain.
