Try looking some more, I can go into Berezino and have AK's coming out of my ears. I stumbled into police stations and left MP5's behind because I already have one and ACOG's used to be pretty common, now (Just like all M4 attachments) you can find them at Heli crashes. I've got an ACOG on Hardcore and threw one away on Reg the other since I use Mosin. Edit: The question I have is how the tent will be found or made. Will it be crafted or will we stumble across a tent?

How can you guarantee there was no one around you?

Unfortunately that's the nature of the game, it doesn't take long to gear up and losing gear is just a factor. It's impossible to say if it was a zombie or another player, I've logged onto servers with 1 other person playing on it before and logged into the exact same position and been shot before I could even react. When you log out you have a 30 second timer in which your body remains in place, people can still see and kill you for that 30 seconds to prevent combat logging and server hopping. Bearing in mind, it doesn't take a lot for someone to hide in a tree opposite you or a field or a building and take a 600m shot the moment you log out.

There's a well known bug at the moment for when you experience a crash. It can sometimes crash your system and reset all your configurations to default. To get this back the way you want it can oft be difficult and time consuming. In regards to resetting your character of the Hardcore server, this isn't something I've experienced and most likely due to you being killed by a Zombie or a player. If you need help resetting your graphic settings correctly, including the resolution there are many threads setup for this, or you could just ask.

I'm embarrassed, I'm going to use the cubicle :( Medium settings, 30-40 FPS in Cities. Post your setup too? -
One does not simply eat a ration pack and sprint from NEAF to NWAF. I'm pretty sure they were designed to not only provide calories and good food, but to make things "move".
-
From the British 'MRE' or Rat Packs you don't have heaters but hexi stoves and hexi blocks that don't come included, everything in there can of course be eaten hot and cold anyway. Great idea, very impressed. They'd definitely need to add a shitting animation if this is introduced though. If you want to know about what you can find or information about the British ration boxes then hit me up, I've still got some lying around somewhere. Panang chicken anyone?

and I can sleep easy at night once again. There's nothing wrong with being an old lady that plays video games. I'm still in my twenties but according to online studies I have the mental attitude of a 66 year old. I'm not sure if it's the beard.. or the pipe. But I have a peeve for people who refer to a she as a he or a he as a she. It really aggravates me. It's only occurred to me know that I could have taken a look at your profile..

I was going to ignore this post and just assume you 'understood' and 'got the idea' for everyone else who posted here. I simply cannot do that, so I'll break this down for you nice and easy so we can understand each other. If you feel the best time you have on the game is looking for gear and objects to help you survive the apocalypse, that's fine - not for me but that is your own opinion. Some people prefer to stay in the woods, some people prefer to explore the western part of the map, I prefer to shoot little shits looking for the items to survive the apocalypse. Sorry, but.. not sorry. When you join a server to obtain items, please make note - the server should either be regular or hardcore and should be connected to the public hive. Make sure you log out in a safe area, far away from any combat zones, spawn zones or any other high traffic zones. When you log out, your body will remain in place for an additional 30(?) seconds to prevent people from combat logging or server hopping. If during this 30 seconds you are shot or killed by other means, your next respawn will be a fresh spawn. It should also be noted, when you join your next server - please make sure it's the same difficulty as the server you have just left, you will have two different characters on Regular & Hardcore and items do not swap between each character. ALWAYS ensure you are joining a public hive. Crazy amount of zombies? People on the forums are asking for more zombies. I personally feel, for a Zombie Survival game there is a distinct lack of zombies within this game. If you dislike Zed's then maybe you should try another game. I hear Bambi Online is F2P. I hope you caught the keyword in that sentence. During a Zombie apocalypse, people won't be so friendly as to provide you with their free items, you will need to work for those items and you will probably need to kill for those items. Again, if you want to just jump into a game and have the very best weapons, then maybe consider Call of Duty or Battlefield. I hear there's Zombies of the first one though. Getting gear is not a struggle, I don't think it has been a struggle for anyone, ever. You spawn, you go into a house, you find a god damn Mosin. Have a look around you, if you see a zombie and you're physically unable to punch that zombie to the ground, then take a wide berth and avoid it altogether. Otherwise I can only suggest you log out, uninstall DayZ and move on. I hate to say it, but we're back onto the subject of getting hurt by Zombies. Seriously, you can punch those things to death without them hitting you once. If you get an axe, you can kill them in one hit. What is wrong with you if you're physically unable to hear, see, point out, avoid or hit a Zombie? I can only suggest another game if you're frustrated after 3 hours of game time. I've put in over 350 hours and I have friends with over 600 hours. Dislike it? Don't complain, you are literally asking the exact opposite of what everyone else on this forum is asking for. Hackers are a part of any game, the only thing you can do is activily avoid them until they get banned. It's my understanding there are far more hackers on the DayZ Mod than on DayZ Standalone. Every item in Hardcore is also on Regular, there's no difference between items. There's no such thing as an item that spawns on Regular but not on Hardcore, same goes to Hardcore for Regular. If you're bouncing servers just to find a gun, look harder. Move further. There's not going to be a gun at the bottom of your feet every time you spawn, that's life. You work and search for the things you want, not ask daddy to buy them for you. There's been fixes every month and new fixes and content released faster than I can keep up with. Developer has really exceeded these last few weeks especially and I'm looking forward to getting in-game every day. If you're too blind to see that, then like I've said several times before.. this game is not for you. In regards to your pondering, I'd love to answer it for you. No one here will regret it. Sincerely, emigrates.

On the 3rd line, change the entire line to.. 3D_performance=100000; Save and exit. Try to run the game again and report to us if the problem persists! Edit: after looking at your config further, remove line 31 as well. Your config is basically a file that's telling the DayZ program to run under X circumstances and settings. You can change all of your graphics settings through that config however going in-game will give you the fancy GUI. I'm not sure how but it looks like something or someone has tried fiddling around with your config file and it's telling the DayZ client to run it's 3D performance at 1500000 and then to run it at 100000. It's like telling a car to change to two different gears, it's not going to happen. Edit again: You've already fixed the issue, I feel like a bit of a dick now. Let me hope this meme saves the day.

What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
emigrates replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
If it doesn't interfere, read, modify or write game files, how would an overlay understand the building it is looking at or the location of your character? SweetFX isn't an overlay but changes how DirectX works - nothing to do with the game, but we're not talking about SweetFX we're talking about an overlay, something to enhance say.. someones physical appearance in order to spot them better or highlighting a piece of environment. Let me know and we can then discuss about posting incorrect information. -
I came across this post and make no apologies for waking up the living/necro thread. Has no one made a single innuendo over this?
-
We could always just turn this into a emigrates fan-thread?

I'm not sure you understand what you're talking about. If you enable a 3rd party program that can suddenly make any zed or player around you have a green glow around them, this is going to be interfering with the game files in order to judge the border, spacing and movement of said characterisations. Even things like changing a gun skin interfere with the game files to replace the original, that's why you'll find most major league gaming series prohibit people making the slightest change like a skin change. There's no such thing as a simple 'overlay', how is that 3rd party program to judge the location, distance, size and other factors of the environment it's going to be overlaying without interfering with the game itself? False, like one of the administrators said above, hacking doesn't just have to mean teleporting or gun spawning. It can be a variety of things, hacking is just another word for 'making something easier' or to 'get around something'. Anything that you enable that changes variables, values or interferes with someones in-game experience to give someone an unfair advantage over another player or players is not permitted. It's ruining gameplay for both teams. -
So many different ways a PC can crush tbh fella, just a matter of rulling them out - however Vista is a very demanding OS. A demanding OS + demanding game = unhappy computers.
-
I'd get rid of that Vista and try to boot W7 or Linux. Your specs are above minimum, however I wouldn't expect much life. Is it a constant crash to desktop now or just here and there?

I like to hope Elle is a she. Not that I've ever come across Elle before, It's just nice. Y'know?
