We've just turned persistence off as we feel it may be hurting the ability to establish our shard. New players are struggling to get get a foothold on the server and giving up and not many are returning. It seems as mentioned above, balance is way off, and I'm sure this should have been tested further on experimental branch before pushing it out to server owners regardless of alpha or not.

As Dave said, we don't take this lightly, never have, never will. We took pride in http://global-gaming.co.uk/ being one (if not thee) top servers on SA. We want to grow a successful thriving community that caters for all play styles (that's a task in itself!). What I would suggest is hopping on our teamspeak and having a chat with the guys. Our password is currently disabled and open to all, so if you want to be friendly hop in and introduce yourself, explain to the guys your intentions and I'm sure they'll do their best to accommodate you. I do feel that communication is key to building a decent community but I will add that a couple of our guys have already been burned by so-called "friendly players" so expect precautions to be taken. A big thank you to all that populated our server last night from the lads & lasses at http://global-gaming.co.uk/ Only our second night live as a private shard and the server was full for most of the evening. Good times :) GG WOLF

Tempted to try your shard out but can never find it the server list, what am I doing wrong? I did check your forums on Saturday for the password and signed up today.

Not necessarily, Some players may of just been killed in Novo, got a friend watching over his gear, and get a Cherno Spawn. There's nothing bad about trying to save time.

Private Shard Pricing is Outrageous
gg_wolf replied to Weyland Yutani (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Idk about the discount, only that we've received one in the past so our site owner as suggested going the same route (can't hurt to as, right?). I've just check again and you are indeed correct regarding the donations " Donate now to gain access to our private shard servers" so I guess that's the route we'll be taking if we have to go down that route at all. I kind of feel bad asking players outside of our community to "donate" just trying to gauge a viable way of getting a sustainable shard up and running given the dwindling playerbase at present. Hopefully enough of our lads/lasses will chip in and make it a viable thing before we have to even consider that route. -
Private Shard Pricing is Outrageous
gg_wolf replied to Weyland Yutani (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Totally agree with the overpriced statement, but it was nice to see an email from Vilayer this morning showing their prices are the cheapest currently (30 slot = £50, 40 slot = £66). Hopefully we can arrange some sort of discount with them (have in the past) and finally get our shard up. But a 100+% mark up on servers is ridiculous imo. What's everyone's opinion on admins charging players a small fee to gain access to their shards? As I've seen a couple of shards doing this (totally understand given the overheads) just gauging opinion for the time being. -
The main issue I've had with experimental is about 3/4 days after an update servers that hadn't crashed become few and far between and the few that remain are bone dry with loot. Other than that, the last update was really enjoyable.

What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
gg_wolf replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
Well, in 585 hours of Standalone gameplay I've only been kicked 3 times and in 200+hours as an admin I've kicked only about 12 players(which were confirmed hackers, that were kick/banned after being killed. I've just scrolled down the server list and only found one locked server which I believe was a dev test server, but had zero players in it anyway. Point I'm making is, what used to be common place 3months ago with badmins/locked servers isn't exactly the same story today. I also believe admins should get more tools to combat hackers (one of our servers is currently ranked No.2 in the world) so we see a lot of hackers and get messages about players hacking but can do very little to clean up our own server. If admins tools were used to negative effect then I'm sure those admins would get complaints logged against them and the server would be sanctioned, so I can't see no harm in allowing the admins the powers to clean up what is effectively becoming a hackfest, especially in the last month. -

In regard to admins locking servers, The server providers are addressing admins that lock servers. We run 2 well established servers and one of our newly appointed admins locked the server(he says accidental, regardless we removed admin rights) within 5 mins of the server being locked I received an email informing me of the T&C's, that the server had been taken offline and that I'd have to manually restart it! Along with the complimentary-don't do it again! This was with Vilayer btw, but can't knock their prompt response, very impressed tbh. -
friend banned globally for hack 140 fresh spawn
gg_wolf replied to coolslider's topic in Troubleshooting
Who needs enemies with "friends" like these? If it were me I'd tell this so called friend he owes me a Arma 2 combined ops code, once obtained I'd then delete him from my friends list. On another note, it's nice to see battleeye working well :) -
Looking for a group of guys to play standalone with
gg_wolf posted a topic in Clan / Group Recruitment
Recently switched from consoles to PC purely for the adrenaline rush & squeaky arse moments this game constantly gives me. I'm not really looking for a clan as such, just a bunch of like minded guys to squad up with on our travels around standalone. About me: I'm a mature gamer (33) with roughly 55 hours logged so not a total noob, but been playing FPS's for over 10 years with Battlefield being my main poison until I found DayZ. I'm a UK player and free most nights after 10pm with the occasional late afternoon thrown in if work is light. I'm easy going & like a giggle but also know how to be tactically aware. So I'm putting this out to you guys as I can't convince my regular playing guys to switch from PS4. So if a few f you wanna link up and want some extra cover on your travels, let me know. Stay safe fellow survivors. Steam name: SHADES -

Hey Cobra1, Yes mate still looking for dudes but having to build a new PC this week as my other one died, should be good to go by Monday I'd imagine. Add me on steam: Paulie (one with the DayZ logo) -
I do exact same thing but not to be cruel just for self preservation really. Players walking into a town automatically go on a higher alert if they see doors open than if they were shut. Also gives me an idea that if I'm looting a certain are and I've closed that door behind me but now it's open, then I'm not alone!

How long Day Z to be released on PS4?
gg_wolf replied to AK47 (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
Lol, I was hoping for a PS4 release but having brought SA on my workstation(not really up to running DayZ) and SA being in Alpha and the state that its in currently I finally realised that waiting for it to come to PS4 was a bad move so went out and built a decent PC which was honestly the best decision I've made in while, I love my PS4 but PC is where its at! Also with the optimisation issues Planetside 2 is having switching to PS4 i think it will be at least a couple of years before if not when we see DayZ on PS4 Now I just need guys to play with...
