Experimental brings us hunting, do you want to know what this means?
UltimateGentleman replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in General Discussion
No I think it's unrealistic that everyone in every house managed to take all the food they have, like did everyone in Chernaus have a moving truck ready to take their stuff? Most of the people in the place died, hence all the zombies so realistically most of the food would still be in cupboards, even just fairly useless shit like spices because who takes that in a panic. What I'm saying is one can of food per town isn't actually realistic because no way would everyone have managed to take it all. When did I even say anything about shooting people...? Not sure where you're getting that from. -
I don't think we should just outright get salmonella if we don't wear gloves that would be silly. I mean all the gloves in the game you just find laying around anyway...find them on dirt, protects against salmonella! They should just have a spoiling % so at 50% there's a 50/50 chance you could get salmonella so it becomes a risk but if you wash the meat then you could eat it raw so long as it wasn't days old. Eating raw meat doesn't just outright make you ill so it shouldn't be that way in the game.

Is vegetation going to be reworked?
UltimateGentleman replied to infiltrator's topic in General Discussion
I don't really care about the colour of vegetation and such. What I want to know is, is it ever going to move when people touch it? Instead of just being able to walk through branches and effectively become invisible from a distance we should be able to see the branches moving out, it would be great if they make it like that in future then things like sniper hill will be much less of a problem and snipers will actually have to be skilled. -
What would be a realistic level of stamina/run time?
UltimateGentleman posted a topic in General Discussion
So they're adding stamina in the future and presumably what gear you have will affect how far and fast you can run. But what sort of distance/time is reasonable? Because currently zombies chase me for like 5 minutes like seriously if I stop and look back can't see them, stay there eventually they show up still. Basically I hope we can always be able to escape them instead of being able to run two minutes against a zombies infinite stamina(they should have stamina too) -
Plan for release of 0.45 to Stable
UltimateGentleman replied to SmashT's topic in News & Announcements
So when can we expect it to hit stable? I don't mean "GIVE ME IT NOW!!! AHHH WHERE'S MY PACIFIER MOMMY!" But like, generally when? Next week, the week after? Obviously we'd all prefer sooner rather than later but it'd be nice to know the general time it might be on stable :P I plan to not play until it's stable since the experimental servers are too busy and have expected problems but I am eager to play this update in full. -

I like it because it's stupid how it used to make you like half as fast, taking a gun out wouldn't magically make you heavier and thus slower and they're not that hard to carry. But yeah it sucks because now bambi's will have a harder time running away from bandits since they can almost keep up, stop then shoot you where before you'd be like 300m away in seconds and could just zig zag to avoid gunfire which would also take some aiming at that range now anyone with an M4 can shoot a runner in typical pew pew pew fashion. -
What would be a realistic level of stamina/run time?
UltimateGentleman replied to UltimateGentleman's topic in General Discussion
I think sleep should work but it should just be like a logout option, so you can find an empty house and log out one a bed then when you log back in if you haven't played in 8 hours(because maybe you went to sleep IRL) your character is fully rested. So long as we don't have to actually sit while playing the game and watch our character sleep for hours I'm all for sleep being added, along with sitting down to rest. As said about run speed it should be toned down if you die it only takes like 20 minutes to run back to your dead body depending on where you spawned. Though I hope bambi's can always run decently fast so we can escape bandits with full gear sets >.> -
What would be a realistic level of stamina/run time?
UltimateGentleman replied to UltimateGentleman's topic in General Discussion
I think he means more like stamina so like you start with 100 stamina but slowly it increases the more you run and longer you survive so you can have 200 stamina or whatever. It would be silly for it to be in the inventory menu, can't look at your wrist and see how long you can run in real life can you? (without a watch anyway) Wonder if they'll add watches so you could time your progress, if they implemented an unseen progression/stat system. -
What would be a realistic level of stamina/run time?
UltimateGentleman replied to UltimateGentleman's topic in General Discussion
Why can women run less a distance than men? ... 5 minutes seems reasonable, but I'm not sure about with gear a 2 minute run time would suck escaping zombies would be a nightmare but to lower it by only a minute when you have a huge backpack full of stuff would also be stupid... -
What would be a realistic level of stamina/run time?
UltimateGentleman replied to UltimateGentleman's topic in General Discussion
To me it seems more like the zombies just get bored :P But yeah having them run in your general area is something I hope they do, it's so annoying in games where when one enemy sees you they all know exactly where you are all the time... I hope they don't make it so you just get hungry/thirsty from running, kinda dumb like if you run for 4 hours you can't fit more stuff in your stomach so in future I hope the incorporate a "rest" system where you sit down and recover, preferably on a seat or bed(boost to rest recovery) Should make you get thirsty quicker though. -
Should walkie talkies have text chat?
UltimateGentleman replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
Why should we be forced to buy mics? I don't want to actually converse with strangers I'm autistic, text chat would be great with these. -

Only if it's not prepared properly. If you kill a deer, cut out it's heart and devour it all that might happen is you'll get a bit sick because you're not used to it. Cooking isn't part of our DNA we've not evolved to need it we just prefer it. So long as the animal in question isn't diseased it would be fine. That's another thing they could do add in the occasional ill animal, maybe they could have a different character model that you need to look at carefully. So you could have hunted the thing for a while, finally took it out with your only bullet and then find out the meat is no good, would make for some interesting gameplay. -

Yeah I know what to do but raw meat shouldn't make people ill cooking just makes meat tasty you don't need to cook it it's just something humans learned to do at one point, before that we ate meat raw so it shouldn't result in illness outright. On the bright side though this means KoS people will have less space for ammo since they'll need a stove and/or firewood etc to survive in future and to take a break from killing bambi's to go hunt. I must say so long as they reduce the amount of canned food to find I love this hunting, it gives you a nice objective once you get fully geared there's not a lot left to do except kill or help people, now exploration is fun and provides rewards. -
Does it need that much? Considering the zombies are the former residents there shouldn't be that many dead people around most would get turned. What I'd like to see in the way of gore is a few carcasses around and maybe some dead NPC's that committed suicide in a bed or maybe hanged themselves to escape the horror. There doesn't need to be blood everywhere just because it's an apocalypse doesn't mean the landscape would change all that much, over time it would get overgrown not get dreary and horrible. It would actually look more beautiful after a time so I'm not sure why people want this dull, dreary looking landscape covered with death from top to bottom when not many people died.

I think they should add some kind of sack for us to keep meat/food in since it doesn't take up all the space in your backpack, it sounds like you get a lot from each animal, more than you really need so it fills up your slots or goes to waste which is a shame. I don't think it would be so unreasonable to have both a backpack and a sack, maybe it could take up your melee weapon slot so you have to fit a fire axe or whatever in your backpack? Or a better way to keep balance could be that it requires some kind of clip that goes on your backpack, which are hard to find so not everyone can have this extra storage space. Another thing which would be awesome, not sure if possible would be when cars are in and working have a trailer and the ability for two players to carry a fridge and put it in then take it to a base, fix up some kind of generator too. That would be freaking ideal but if not possible just an extra sack would do, maybe it could slow your runs speed or something so there's an element of risk to it and if you're putting a lot of meat in it you should have to clean it often or food gets infected, another use for disinfectant perhaps.

Seriously? That's pretty lame you can eat raw meat just fine, it's natural. I hope they change that in future. -

So can you not eat raw meat from animals? Cooking it should provide more of a benefit but I hope we can eat them raw too. I wonder if they could add in some kind of ice box, like a variation on the protector case that keeps food from spoiling better? That would be cool until we can use fridges and make bases. Hoping this goes stable later rubberbanding is kind of annoying as is getting shot while trying to find new stuff because the servers are so full. -
Hey, I'm not the one getting his ass kicked by bambi's. Maybe you should man up instead of whining and asking them to make the game easier for you :P
-
And you do this when people can lay on the floor of a building and look out the window in third person, how? Or if they're on rooftops, if you can see them with the naked eye zoom it's a miracle that they haven't shot you already. There are far too many places to hide to make "scouting" any kind of a solution when you have no scope or anything like that. More like assholes shouldn't camp and kill everyone because it's not a war game, why should they be rewarded for being dickbags? People too chicken to go to an airfield and fight people who can shoot back shouldn't be able to sit and keep a whole city to themselves.
-
Damn well is harsh because what if you get killed by some asshole camping in a building when you're just trying to survive? You act like every Bambi is a crazy person and that not almost everyone else is a douchebag. I don't see why bandits should be rewarded for being assholes and killing everyone then having a territory to themselves, that's not what the game is supposed to be about. If anything being able to run back and mess with your attackers is a good thing because maybe they'll think twice next time, they deserve to be attacked for killing you for no reason. I think if anything a death timer should be that long depending on what weapons you and the other guy had, if you had an M4, pistol and fire axe and they had a frying pan then they should get like a 2 minute death timer, because you're the douche killing someone who can barely defend themselves. People who have equal weapons get a 5-10 minute death timer. People who had loads of weapons but still got killed by dude with frying pan, 10 minute death timer for both sucking and possibly being a bandit who got his just desserts.

Since when do zombies die from one shot to the leg?
UltimateGentleman replied to Goddam Firestations's topic in General Discussion
Not accurate in relation to real life though. A zombie right in front of you hitting you you can't point your gun at the barrel would be going past them, guns be long. Headshots are only viable with a mouse when they're running at you from some distance away otherwise aiming is way too clumsy. There's no other way to make it difficult than making it unreasonably harsh like getting diseases near constantly and that would just suck no place is that dangerous, zombies are the only real way to make it dangerous so more types do that instead of making them ridiculous nigh invincible monsters when they are just people. I mean super as in like been tested on, like Patient Zero in whatever mod it is not like supernaturally super, Riot Gear zombies with functional armour could also work as super zombies, shooting them would do jack. -
Since when do zombies die from one shot to the leg?
UltimateGentleman replied to Goddam Firestations's topic in General Discussion
Why not? I suggested this a while back, it would be cool if some crazy zombie spawned in every half our or so and everyone had to fight it or be hunted down one by one. Would encourage some co-operation. I don't think they should EVER make zombies only killable by headshots, they move too fast and aiming with a mouse is nothing like real life. In real life I could shove the barrel of my gun right in their face and blow their head open but with mouse aiming you're just swinging the gun around until it's pointing at something. If you could actually push zombies back and stun them a little, then maybe but zombies like they are now should not be headshot only. Shoot it in the spine and it's not walking after you, why should headshot only count? -
I don't think they should add snow because it definitely should stay with such a cold area, they should just add in ice and frost effects. That would be cool, ponds freeze over limiting your water supply. If they add fog I wonder if they could work in smoke grenades?
-
I like it but I hope they only add it when it will work properly. By that I mean they should only add it when zombies can't still see you from like 300m away in it because that would suuuuuck. Also I hope it gets thicker than that from time to time, that would be fun and scary.

I like the memorizing thing but it assumes you get close enough to memorize their face, if it's someone wearing the standard set or brown/green and a hunting backpack as like 50% of the people I find do, who looks exactly like your friend then the logical thing to do is walk over all friendly. Then get shot because it's not actually your friend, they're not going to let you have a good look at them. Especially if that was a feature in the game. A textline is basically what I mean over floating indicator, perhaps you could memorize someone's outfit and/or face and then when you look at them for a couple of seconds it says who it is in the bottom left corner, at reasonable distances. It would be great for snipers covering their buddies while they go search for loot or whatever because if people steps out wearing virtually the same clothes currently the sniper becomes useless because they have no way to differentiate between them. So it could come up saying "That's Tom" when you look at your friend Tom. And then if you memorize someone's set if you look at them again at a distance it could say "I think that's Tom but I'm not sure" so there's still some guesswork in it if things change.
