If H1Z1 will have squads and clans at early access why ...

But everyone just wears the same stuff or near enough, it's usually the standard hunting backpack and assault vest set with a ballistic helmet or bandanna then green/brown for the rest. There's like literally no variety to what people wear once they're fully geared and if your team is just like "LET'S ALL WEAR BRIGHT ORANGE HEADBANDS" you're all going to die. A HUD and a friend tagging system is not unrealistic at all so long as you don't see names above heads through walls and shit or from a million miles away, couple hundred or even a hundred metres at most. The character models are all the same and they're never going to have the kind of variety the real world has to body shapes so there is no way to identify people as easily as you would in real life. The most variety you could get is if they added height options then all your team mates could be giant or short but that would just look stupid and everyone would have the same idea. Unless you throw tactics and camo out the window you can't identify each other without trying to act like you're badass military personnel in a game with call signs and whatnot when they shouldn't be necessary. Shooting first and asking questions later is also what people do because if someone comes round a corner with a gun out after you've just been in a firefight, both people are going to aim at each other and how often do both take the time to ask who it is? It's too risky to not shoot then boom your friend is dead or you are. Anyway Yeah but the problem is H1Z1 is going off like a rocket(no pun intended) where DayZ is moving really really slow, H1Z1 will probably finished before DayZ even hits Beta and then when it is finished it's going to be either equally good or worse so why even play it when H1Z1 is free and has more in it?

If H1Z1 will have squads and clans at early access why ...

It's obviously not but really without being a fanboy what game looks more promising? H1Z1 has things that are still very broken or far away in DayZ, a way bigger budget and a way bigger development team. It's future is very bright. Honestly I think the only bad thing about it is being F2P because I don't want to buy vanity items, I'd rather that and to have to pay £30 for the game to give them something back. However if it's going on PS4 it has a constant stream of money from PS+ so it should still last. But seriously what makes DayZ so much better? "I like DayZ more" is not a legitimate answer. People have a fondness for it because it was like nothing they've ever played before. Like the first shooting game ever, it's obviously going to be awful compared to shooting games today. DayZ in this age of technology is just dated.

If H1Z1 will have squads and clans at early access why ...

Yes. DayZ is so easy it's only difficult at all when you lag out or fire a whole clip in to someone and it somehow misses or glitches and they survive it. Zombies are easy, just annoying when you're trying to pick up stuff. Zombies in H1Z1 can kill you in just a few hits, can people please explain what's so "hardcore" about DayZ? Get cut the fuck open, just slap a bandage on and you're healed that big gaping wound won't harm you again and will instantly stop bleeding just like real life. Broke your leg? Just get a stick and some rags, put them together and put it on your leg you'll be right as rain in no time. Or stab morphine in to your leg, which everyone knows pulls bones back together and puts them in working order again. Don't give me that "isn't final" crap there's no reason to have morphine and splints if they're not always going to do that. You know this...how? In H1Z1 you can set people on fire like instantly, if anything it's the harder game. They even have exploding barrels set up and traps so how the hell is DayZ harder? In H1Z1 if you walk in to any building you could have something falling on your head and knocking you out or stabbing in to you whatever. The only hard thing like that in DayZ is when someone has glitched in to a wall or just sat there for hours with the sole intent of killing someone. DayZ is not hardcore at all it just has a more varied medical system than most games. That's it. Hardcore mode on Minecraft is more hardcore than DayZ, now that's how zombies are done. Also zombies in H1Z1 already don't walk through walls it only looks shitty because they're building it from the core where DayZ is just adding things to an existing landscape, everything in H1Z1 is built up to accommodate zombies so they're not glitchy and annoying and they have hordes. Explain what DayZ has that H1Z1 doesn't.

Wood mills and quarries + machinery

So it's not really definite that you'll ever find an axe or pickaxe or stones/firewood. What if there was a wood mill, where there were trees you could put in it(exactly like what you get in Skyrim) as a way to get firewood and a quarry with some machine to break rocks(that you can't drive out of the quarry) Before you say "urgh that's too easy! blah blah blah!" not really, machinery makes a lot of noise and that noise attracts people and maybe zombies it's by no means a safe option. If you can even get to the machines too since bandits will likely camp nearby. So it's not a perfect solution but is a last resort, every axe and pickaxe after a few hours in a 64bit server could just have been broken and all the food could have been eaten besides animals so by the point the game gets harder and harder it would be your only option to go to one of these places, hope nobody is there, fight your way through or trade some things for wood/stones or hope that you can sneak in and collect any leftovers. Thoughts? In post apocalyptic situations you always see groups holding up some key location with a valuable resource so it makes sense for something like that to happen in game. In future this would be really cool especially when we can have signs to indicate trading posts or no entry zones, it would add a cool survival element instead of "there's no stuff in this server, let's go to a new one"

Wood mills and quarries + machinery

They have added it in experimental I believe not tried it myself so I don't know if it's specific rocks or anything. Can't really think of many rocky places in the map really. So with the quarry and mill I'm just thinking of one last desperate way to get stones and wood, otherwise the spawns would have to be silly. Picks and axes are great weapons too so it wouldn't make sense if they added loads everyone could just get kitted out in minutes and not have to worry about zombies. Plus axes at least break pretty quick when you cut trees with them so if they weren't spawning in often it would get to the point where nobody had a working axe, assuming they stayed on one server. I'd rather have some last option than just have to leave a server to get a couple of things, it just feels cheap.

    Rocket said

Nice and all but if nobody is playing it they'll just switch the servers off, they've got there money in a few years they'll be doing something different anyway.

Wood mills and quarries + machinery

Well I'd imagine they'll not respawn everything with server resets in future in the beginning it's way too easy to survive so they'll want to change that. Or at least fans will moan at them until they do... I don't think they will add a forage option, not when they added mining and cutting, it would make it too easy then there's basically an unlimited supply. Well it doesn't look like the place was very modern anyway sure seems like some relatively poor area I think they'd mostly have been like that anyway just without all the windows being smashed. Maybe they could add some kind of electrical grid so if bandits are holding up the quarry or mill, put the electricity off so some have to leave and put it on. Or they could just not need electricity, wood mill could be exactly like the one in Skyrim where it's water powered and the quarry machinery could just need fuel. I mean more drivable machinery in the quarry but maybe the wheels are broken so it's only useful for smashing rocks in front of it.

Wood mills and quarries + machinery

Have you noticed the street lights in game? Because I have. IE there is electricity, unless it was turned off it wouldn't just go off after a few days/weeks so it's plausible that it would be on unless the game is set like 5-10 years after the outrbreak, which is doubtful. Guess I wasn't clear I mean literally just for stones and a mill for firewood. Because if there are no axes or pickaxes left, what are you supposed to do? With persistent loot you'd just have to leave the server or not play again until it reset, it would be impossible to survive unless you had all the ammo in the server and could just murder everything. Currently you hardly ever see stones, or they're like in a house randomly so it's not ideal obviously not final but I doubt they'll have them everywhere in future. It would get to the point where a selection of people had all the axes, firewood, stones and pickaxes so at that point you'd be forced to not play or just kill people or maybe, just maybe trade with them and be nice. If a server held 100 people and the loot only got reset like once every two weeks by that second week it would be almost unplayable unless they greatly increase the spawns of all loot which would suck even more. I'd love the challenge of having to sneak or storm my way in to one of these places that bandits have sectioned off for themselves. It'd be like when they try to take the prison in Walking Dead but hopefully without the tank. Also adds another battlefield, airfields are boring more often than not you just get sniped from miles away instead of people having legit firefights with you.

Experimental brings us hunting, do you want to know what this means?

In what way are we supposed to take it seriously? It's not hard to survive at all so it just gets boring right now once you get everything you need what are you supposed to do just aimlessly wander around? Super exciting. Or are you supposed to just walk up to people and assume they'll talk to you when like 99.9999% of the time they'll just shoot you anyway. There's no reason to take it seriously right now because there's nothing to do once you can survive, that's the only reason I accept bandits but KoS guys who should fresh spawns are dicks. Well bad luck really some houses always have food(unless taken obviously) once you know which ones do you can just not bother with all the houses that only have like a hat or something in them. All they really need to do is make hunting supplies more common or alternate ways to get stones and wood and light fires.
  10. Not really they're not adding player zombies so it would be something specific to a DLC and I was giving basic ideas there'd be more to it than that like different buildings and things. I don't see what would be so bad about adding some fun arcade kind of DLC modes the game is pretty dry, it's good for tactical shootouts and stuff but once you've done that so many times it just gets really dull especially when you've walked round the whole map a million times so there's nothing new to experience. DLC isn't just things like weapons it's anything you can buy that adds content to a game, a game mode or different map is content so it's still DLC. It would be great if they added some fun modes I don't see how that would make the game terrible if you don't want to play any modes like that...don't, it's quite simple the base game would always be there. I don't see why they should limit DLC to being vanity items that doesn't really add anything to the experience like wow I've played the game 4000 hours but now I can buy a top hat that makes the game interesting again...not really. Plus if they go for DLC items then it could just become some crappy Pay To Win game.
  11. I don't see how DLC's would fuck up the balance they could just have some servers, I'd love to see some game mode DLC's So you could have an endless horde DLC where you spawn with full gear a gun and ammo and there's constantly zombies chasing you around and you have to survive as long as you can. It would be great fun, currently the game gets very very boring once you have everything you need it's just not hard to survive at all and the only thing left to do is kill people which also gets boring. Endless horde mode, zombie player mode, animal horde mode(like wolves and bears everywhere) Shit like that would be awesome. Any DLC shouldn't affect the base game they should be separate, like how stable is to experimental.

Experimental brings us hunting, do you want to know what this means?

I think they should just go ahead and make the days shorter instead of being real world days. 'Cause in a DayZ day you need to eat like 10 cans of food and drink a lot of fluids, nobody in real life needs that much two cans a day would be enough to survive. It would be great if the days were even 12 hours long so that you could play through a night without having to waste your whole day on the computer, night time is so long that it's barely worth playing and if it was shorter more people would play it too. It's that or they make food last realistically long which would make it way too easy a couple of cans would last you like 30 hours of game time. Shorter days means the frequency in which you need to eat makes more sense so I think they should go for it. Even an 8 hour day would be cool. Not really there's more than enough food for that currently you just have to explore to find it. Plus hunting and fishing, they seem like unlimited food supplies that require some work, so I think it's pretty much fine now.

    Some questions regarding the AK-74

Oops yeah 74, used to typing 47  Exactly as the bold says, zombies are so easy to deal with that you wouldn't need to blow them up anyway, so people would more often than not just save them to use on people because they're not needed for anything else. Except maybe vehicles, if someone had some armour plating over the windshield a grenade launcher would be good then. I wouldn't mind a grenade launcher if there was like literally one grenade in a random location in each server so that having a grip is more viable. Or perhaps since they're adding fog soon they could just add launchable smoke grenades that are more common, maybe even tear gas the former would be excellent for creating some cover at an airfield so you can get in one of the buildings away from any snipers.. That would make it an awesome piece of kit but not overpower it (direct hit by any grenade from close range should do serious damage of course)

    Perks/skills/professions/stats

Well not just aim in general but controlling a weapon too. After having just picked up an M4 nobody would be as adept with it as the characters in the game the recoil would be a nightmare so over time you should get used to it and guns should sway less the longer you survive and use them until your character is a veteran survivor. Guns should always sway though I don't mean you should improve so much that they're held still perfectly. Judging the distance and how high up to shoot plus the wind should be up to the player but the player can;t affect how toned their characters muscles are and how well they hold a weapon.
  15. UltimateGentleman

    What range are your gunfights?

I don't think I've ever tried long range, I don't see the point in exposing myself with the lag my bullet is probably going to hit where they were half a second ago anyway. That and I almost never use a Mosin because you have almost no chance if someone with an M4 walks round the corner. Typically I use an SKS or M4 so it's close range I go for. Never really tested out long range shooting and we don't get to see where bullets hit now so I don't really want to try it and waste ammo. It would be awesome if they added in a target range, just some old decrepit thing at a military base we could practice at...or get killed practising at. Even though that'd probably happen a lot in an almost empty server I'd like to test out my guns since I'm mostly getting shot at from behind suddenly or shooting someone in close quarters who hasn't noticed me yet, no real aim judgement involved there...

    Some questions regarding the AK-74

A frag grenade can ruin a whole room they do a lot of small scale destruction that could probably never be worked in to this engine I'd rather those kinds of explosions not be in the game than look half assed. They'd still have to cause some destruction if they want to be authentic, and they'd need some gore too since if you got blown up by a grenade your body isn't going to be intact :D Because people treat it like a PVP game enough as it is it's supposed to be a zombie survival game but everyone would just use grenades to kill each other instead of taking out hordes of zombies, only like 1 in 10 grenades would probably be used for anything tactical like that the rest would be for killing bambi's. Having just spawned I'd rather be able to run in to a house for safety than expect grenades to fly through the windows seconds later, especially since people holding guns can run faster now coastal bandits are enough of a nuisance without grenades to play with, nevermind launch-able ones. And yeah but the model is there so if they added it and didn't add the launcher people would just complain "The model is there just add it stupid devs I want to blow things up right now, it doesn't take any time to make an explosion system what are you doing!" I would like the danger hearing explosions in the distance would add to the game but no matter how rare they were people could just take their time, collect like 40 and then just be assholes. It wouldn't take a clan long to hop through loads of servers and collect enough to take on an army. I'd rather they add another semi-auto rifle like the SKS to another auto right now, something more modern though. Maybe something with a 20 round mag using the same ammo as the M4, that would be awesome. They've added the AKM and are adding another bolt action soon so I think semi-auto should be the way to go and then one day AK-47.
  17. UltimateGentleman

    Some questions regarding the AK-74

They probably don't want to have to add in the grenade launcher yet, if they added the gun the community would never shut up about the grenade launcher even though it would probably be extremely broken. Maybe they will add it relatively soon since they've started with the throwing physics. Can't say I care too much about them adding a grenade launcher that makes it even more of a war game... Although it would be HILARIOUS to see bandits lag out trying to shoot you and hit a wall in front of themselves, so dying obviously. Maybe they're waiting for 64bit servers to handle explosions and maybe some small scale destruction but I hope not. The gun itself I wouldn't mind though.
  18. UltimateGentleman

    Perks/skills/professions/stats

But your shooting skill would improve the more you did it in real life so in the beginning your hands should shake more than they do currently and gradually get steady like some professional sniper if your character has lived like 200 hours. Player jobs and things like this have been suggested many times(I suggested it before too) and I think they should implement it, doctors can heal themselves and others faster and can have morphine stack for example. Everyone else starts at a basic level for everything but their select field and then slowly get as good as a doctor at applying bandages the more they do it. It would be nice if the game had some kind of a point like that currently it gets dull as soon as you have full gear, there's nothing to do but kill people or aimlessly explore pretty identical looking towns.
  19. UltimateGentleman

Experimental brings us hunting, do you want to know what this means?

No I think it's unrealistic that everyone in every house managed to take all the food they have, like did everyone in Chernaus have a moving truck ready to take their stuff? Most of the people in the place died, hence all the zombies so realistically most of the food would still be in cupboards, even just fairly useless shit like spices because who takes that in a panic. What I'm saying is one can of food per town isn't actually realistic because no way would everyone have managed to take it all. When did I even say anything about shooting people...? Not sure where you're getting that from.

    Cooking Wishlist

I don't think we should just outright get salmonella if we don't wear gloves that would be silly. I mean all the gloves in the game you just find laying around anyway...find them on dirt, protects against salmonella! They should just have a spoiling % so at 50% there's a 50/50 chance you could get salmonella so it becomes a risk but if you wash the meat then you could eat it raw so long as it wasn't days old. Eating raw meat doesn't just outright make you ill so it shouldn't be that way in the game.
  21. UltimateGentleman

Is vegetation going to be reworked?

I don't really care about the colour of vegetation and such. What I want to know is, is it ever going to move when people touch it? Instead of just being able to walk through branches and effectively become invisible from a distance we should be able to see the branches moving out, it would be great if they make it like that in future then things like sniper hill will be much less of a problem and snipers will actually have to be skilled.
  22. So they're adding stamina in the future and presumably what gear you have will affect how far and fast you can run. But what sort of distance/time is reasonable? Because currently zombies chase me for like 5 minutes like seriously if I stop and look back can't see them, stay there eventually they show up still. Basically I hope we can always be able to escape them instead of being able to run two minutes against a zombies infinite stamina(they should have stamina too)

Plan for release of 0.45 to Stable

So when can we expect it to hit stable? I don't mean "GIVE ME IT NOW!!! AHHH WHERE'S MY PACIFIER MOMMY!" But like, generally when? Next week, the week after? Obviously we'd all prefer sooner rather than later but it'd be nice to know the general time it might be on stable :P I plan to not play until it's stable since the experimental servers are too busy and have expected problems but I am eager to play this update in full.
  24. UltimateGentleman

What would be a realistic level of stamina/run time?

I think sleep should work but it should just be like a logout option, so you can find an empty house and log out one a bed then when you log back in if you haven't played in 8 hours(because maybe you went to sleep IRL) your character is fully rested. So long as we don't have to actually sit while playing the game and watch our character sleep for hours I'm all for sleep being added, along with sitting down to rest. As said about run speed it should be toned down if you die it only takes like 20 minutes to run back to your dead body depending on where you spawned. Though I hope bambi's can always run decently fast so we can escape bandits with full gear sets >.>
  25. UltimateGentleman

What would be a realistic level of stamina/run time?

I think he means more like stamina so like you start with 100 stamina but slowly it increases the more you run and longer you survive so you can have 200 stamina or whatever. It would be silly for it to be in the inventory menu, can't look at your wrist and see how long you can run in real life can you? (without a watch anyway) Wonder if they'll add watches so you could time your progress, if they implemented an unseen progression/stat system.
