    Weapon locations

So what about the pistols, where can people find them? Airfields are where I find them mostly. I think I've found one 1911 at a police station but someone might have left it there. Screw it I'll just edit the first post now it'll be helpful for any newcomers in future.

    Dead Bodies Should Not Disappear

I would prefer they got up and turned in to zombies, then there's a reason for a different type of zombie. They could be slow but resistant to all but headshots(classic zombie) whereas the current infected are fast but fairly weak. As long as some spawned on their own I think it would be great, especially if the ones that used to be players looked the same. Like if we get armbands to distinguish team mates, imagine finding a zombie with the same yellow armband as your clan...no! JIMMY!!!! Anyway yeah that would be the best reason for more than one type of zombie without getting silly. It could just work like Walking Dead where everyone is infected and only become a zombie when they die. But the survivors we play as are immune to it until death so they don't become runners. Nothing wrong with that, would add nice variety.

    Bicycle Suggestions/Discussion [Official]

What bikes were in the mod? Crap old things, BMX's or full on mountain bikes? I'd like some old rusty pieces of shit in the mix but hopefully we get the occasional good mountain bike.

Ammo Calibration : Poll & Discussion

On this forum out of 91 people. Hardly relevant to the amount of people who play the game. If everyone who did voted and it was 77% then it would matter but most people just play the game instead of demanding this so yeah, minority.

    Trading Post

EDIT doesn't matter I found charcoal tabs at this airfield although I'm still dying so go figure... I'd imagine someone will find me and kill me I now have two ammo boxes filled with ammo and two 1911 clips plus the gun itself. Mostly SKS ammo, some 45acp and magnum rounds. Also 3 things of morphine. If I'm still sick and somebody wants that for free I'm still willing to give it for free, tons of food and steak too just make sure to kill me. 7 charcoal tabs later and I'm still sick so it must be bad(it's at the second stage)

hunger, thirsty, healty and a new for PSYCHE = moral

I'm mentally ill anyway negative emotions don't do much to me beyond depression when a family member dies I basically forget them, same with anyone I couldn't care less about someone I don't know dying there are billions of people anyway. So no not everyone does care. Anyway that's off the point, have the devs ever mentioned anything like psyche being added to the game? I hope they've at least considered it. It'd be difficult not to go mad if you were constantly being attacked by zombies, shot at by strangers or attacked by wild animals your avatar would need to have the most extreme mental fortitude ever not to be going a bit crazy after days in Chernaus... Shaolin monk level mental fortitude, maybe that's the story you're an enlightened monk sent to fight the undead in the underworld

    Bicycle Suggestions/Discussion [Official]

Bikes in the mod though, does that mean bicycles or motorbikes? It's hard to tell what people mean sometimes. Both should be in it. It would be great if you could have a fold-able one on your back. Hopefully we will be able to use one handed weapons on them that would be so much fun. Or imagine you and a friend could cut one bike in half and attach it to the other so one can cycle and one can sit on the back and shoot zombies/people. That would be hilarious.

    Stay away from the shipwreck

The one near Berenzino? What good loot is in it because I went there after spawning in an almost empty high loot server and all I found were hats and stuff, best things were a machete and binoculars. And I was lost in it for like 20 minutes so I'm fairly sure I checked everywhere..

Ammo Calibration : Poll & Discussion

If it's that simple maybe they should hire you then. And get neverending complaints until they did polish it, ammo is a complete nonissue the people that would have to work on the bullets should be fixing other stuff, sound guys should be fixing the weird bug where you hear random zombies/cans opening/etc. Other design and animation orientated members should be fixing the animations, adding more, designing buildings and other item. The people that care are in the vast minority in the grand scheme of the game it barely matters, maybe they will add a couple of more, probably but not one for each and every gun that happens to be slightly different in caliber. I would rather just have some cool guns in the game than have to care about the ammo for them that much, I want a distinctive cool looking and cool sounding gun as long as it works nothing else matters much. If it was a choice between gun and ammo variety taking priority, hands down, guns win.

Ammo Calibration : Poll & Discussion

And you...have a great understanding of all that making the rounds entails? They have to do that, balance out all the ammo drops in a way people won't whine about, configure how much damage they do, design mags for them and codes that say what ammo goes in where, how loud they are, the sound itself, how much they make people bleed, the bullet drops and what distance. Or would you rather they just copied and pasted ammo stats over and just changed the title? What would be the point... Well, they need to have some crappy weapons in the game those are hardly serious weapons they're there to be the best of a bad situation we can't all have high powered rifles or machine guns can we. Same with the bow, it sucks but if you have no guns or never find any ammo but founds some composite arrows, it's your only option.

Fog horns, air raid sirens etc

Wouldn't it be cool if any old ships in the map had a working fog horn? Or airfields could have air raid sirens or there could be buildings with them in certain areas. Basically so we could lure people to locations and have battles, essentially it could be inviting them or saying you are there, anyone goes near they die. Someone with only the Amphibia might think twice about entering that airfield if someone puts the air raid siren on. Or someone with a Mosin might accept the challenge. (they should have like 10 second timers or something though instead of being on constantly that would suck) It would add an interesting layer of tactics to the game, maybe you just found a shotgun and two shells and you're starving at the crashed tanker, fog horn and wait for your geared prey to come with what you need. Or once you know someone is there you could ask nicely(I doubt it would happen much...)

Ammo Calibration : Poll & Discussion

That then defeats the point of ammo being rare, ammo should be rare but not because you find millions of the wrong kind for your gun it shouldn't spawn in as many places as it does or as much as it does and probably won't in the full release, so if there were like 20 ammo types it would be almost pointless to have a gun. Not really they're not going to remove things they've already added and spend many hours on. 3am here so not going to go in to a big post or reply to all that as it's bed time. I see what you're saying. It kind of is silly to pick up a box of 5.56mm and then suddenly you have ammo for half the guns in the game then you collect more and you can pick any of those weapons you want and go on a rampage, in that case it's better that you don't find the right type half those boxes could be 5.57mm(pretend that's a thing if it isn't) and thus useless to you if you find a 5.56mm gun and that is pretty cool. Nobody can just blitz through a town and find all they need. But the rarity I mean is also where you find ammo, instead of in 10,000 locations on the map it should be in my opinion something like 2,000 and random so if you need 5.56mm you have a lot more of a mission to find it, instead of finding tons of boxes for 20 other types of ammunition ammo as a whole is hard to find. I wouldn't mind a couple more but the ammo we have no does the job, it might not be realistic that it fits in multiple guns but hey it's not realistic that all you need to survive a gunshot is to put a bandage on it and eat enough beans to hit healthy status. Less variety than we have would suck but I don't think it matters if we have more, I'd rather have better guns with flaws and advantages. It hardly ruins the game to not have real world accuracy but some people act like it, like ammo is the biggest issue with the game...

Ammo Calibration : Poll & Discussion

    1. Well yeah exactly, not everyone knows what gun types go in what guns some players do and good for them but why make defending yourself be complicated for those that don't in this game? 2. Considering how many items are in the game and how they are spread out it does mean that all ammunition would either have to get rarer or spawn in more places or grouped together, we shouldn't be able to go in to a police station and find several boxes of 9mm, 9mmM, 12ga slugs, 12ga buckshot and .45ACP. Just as we shouldn't go in every police station in the map and find only 9mm rounds. They either have to add more ammo spawns or add the new types to the same spawns which gives every ammo type that spawns there less of a chance to appear and given the nature of chance, the chance to never or always appear. So again they'd have to make ammo spawn in a lot more places or some spawn more than others, which effectively makes the weapons which use the rare types pointless. If the rarest gun in the game also uses the rarest ammo in the game what is the point in it? And if the most common gun uses the rarest ammo what's the point in it? Either you spend forever finding ammo for it or look for the rarest gun which could be anywhere. (by the way I really hope more people use this system of breaking posts down in to points it's so annoying having to root through someone's unpunctuated essay..) There's just no reason to add that level of detail when most things are simplified why should some things be simple and others 100% realistic? Mags for instance all you have to do is drag bullets over to a mag click the option wait for a few second animation and boom all those bullets are in the mag not individually hand loaded. Like you can just open an ammo box and tip it upside down on to a mag and it's filled for you. If they supply this 100% realistic feature people will just demand more and more, you get what you get and that's the end of it.

    Rewarding non military gear

Yeah I feel the same way, hunting should be easier than being a murderer it's much MUCH easier to just kill people and take their food than it is to find an animal, kill it and have all the things necessary to cook the meat. Hunting may be a renewable option but it's far too difficult to make it worth it it can take hours just to get what you need for a campfire and if you get all the stuff you're lucky nobody has killed you yet. And then you need a knife to get any steaks too, in my 250 hours of so of playing I've honestly only found like 4-5 knives they're far too rare even some butter knifes would be nice. It took me about 2 hours to make my first campfire because wood is freaking nowhere and every axe I found was too damaged to cut even one tree down and then after searching like 100 buildings I finally found a stone, yay. It's really silly, stones should be everywhere because well...they are, unless someone in Chernaus obsessively collects them they're too rare. Fishing is worse though since we also need to find a shovel, that's either luck to find wood and stones or 3 different melee weapons you have to find to get what you need, not to mention the fishing hook, rope and ashwood stick. Someone who puts the work in to being a hunter should be rewarded by having better gear for it over someone who's mainly PvP focused. They can have their ballistic helmets and mag pockets, I want more space for my meat and tools. Yeah but they don't do everything with 100% efficiency. A combat knife wouldn't skin an animal better than a kitchen or skinning knife, either all but damaged knives should get 100% steaks or more than just the combat knife should get 100% something big like a bowie does the job just fine. Combat knives should just do the most melee damage, they're what you want if you intend to fight but if you don't other knives should suffice. But they don't currently, and they should.

Why I kill other players (outsided of defense/necesity):

I guess your two points come together as one people are hostile towards those geared up people and since it's so easy to gear up most people fall in the category. But in my experience almost none of them are friendly the only "friendly" people are those who couldn't defend themselves against you, if they had a gun they'd probably shoot at you but since they don't they're "friendly" but not like "hey dude what's up?" friendly. So mostly I would say it's hostile players, perhaps that could change if it genuinely was hard to gear up but there'd always be those geared up guys who just want to go kill everyone else wanting to gear up. And then those people who just wanted to gear up finally do and are so annoyed with campers that they just become the same type of player, it's a vicious cycle I don't see changing. I agree that we need villains but the way it is now is just silly, a villain should be someone you meet on the street who shoots at you not someone who watches over loot drops and shoots anyone who approaches in real life there are no loot drops. However I do appreciate those who kill people who spawn in hangars or barracks to get gear it's a good way to banish server hopping but there's no way to differentiate and it doesn't seem like people try.

Ammo Calibration : Poll & Discussion

Would any random idiot know where? More than likely they'd pick it up and be like WOO A GUN find a mag and think WOO BULLETS now how do I jam this fucker in. If it was going to be so complicated and the right ammo types for the gun you have were going to be so rare they might as well just remove guns or only have ones that use the same ammo type. And then everyone would moan that there's not enough variety. Why are the devs hostile about it? Probably because everyone whining about the game never shut up no matter what they do, thank god they don't look at this forum much if at all they'd probably just stop making the game... (@ everyone gibonez sorry if that sounds angrily aimed at you :P )

Ammo Calibration : Poll & Discussion

I don't see why it matters. Why would your random survivor know what bullets what go in what gun? They don't say "put 5.56mm ammo in me" all over them, do you know what type of ammo goes in every gun? Maybe you do. But does every player? I'm sure the people who know about all these ammo types are in the minority here, you shouldn't have to become a gun expert to play a game that does most of the work for you anyway. If they added every type of round that fits in all the planned guns ammo would just have to be everywhere, is Chernaus a secret military country where everyone has guns from all parts of the world? Sure doesn't seem like it, most of the ammo that would be needed for the guns wouldn't be there you'd realistically find as much as the one person who owned the gun had. Rather than it being all over the country when only one person has an MP5-K or whatever. If by the end of the game they have 4 different automatics, 6 different semi-auto and bolt action rifles, 6 pistols, 3 shotguns and crossbows can you picture how ridiculous ammo drops would need to be if they all had slightly different ammo? Not to mention how fucked you'd be considering you'd be extremely lucky to find the right kind for what you have and you'd probably come across people who server hopped for hours to find several mags worth, they would just dominate the map since nobody else finds enough of the right ammo playing legit. There probably is a game where ammo types are as specific or nearly as specific as real life. Go play that if it bothers you so much, or start your own zombie apocalypse.

    Rewarding non military gear

Yeah that's the idea any of the villages away from the bigger towns should spawn this kind of stuff but they have to buy it from somewhere so they should add in the kind of shop you'd buy this stuff from, obviously a ransacked one with barely anything in it. Random wooden huts in forests clearly going to be owned by someone who hunts their own dinner should have rifle and hunting gear drops, instead of just hats and stuff like currently.

Why I kill other players (outsided of defense/necesity):

    1. Yes, this forum has little to no influence on the players as a whole the KOS mindset doesn't come and isn't controlled from here it's just what people deviate towards because even though this is a survival simulator it's still played like a game. 2. KOS is basically the only playstyle I would think that's obvious how many people you didn't know in game haven't shot at you? You'd be lying or extremely lucky to say more people have been friendly, discounting those without guns since of course they'd be friendly when you have an M4. 3. No it's supposed to be a survival game/simulator that's why it's so realistic compared to most games, games like ARMA for instance are the same kind used to train soldiers only ARMA is a commercial version, it's supposed to be a difficult survival game that yes you play how you want but it's meant to be played how you would in real life. Or would you run to the nearest military base and shoot any person you see? Fairly sure most sane humans won't but since this is GTA shooting people is the sane thing to do apparently. 4. Basically answered this, it may be fictional but the point of being realistic is...to be realistic or does that not make sense? If people play this as they realistically would then what we can gather from like 99% of the players is that they'd instantly go on a murder spree which is ridiculous. 5. They pollute the community of people who want to play this game seriously, hunting animals, surviving zombies, surviving encounters with other players. Note the encounter part, not being shot at by someone sitting sniping at tents because good loot is in them and deliberately being an asshole. They ruin the game in that they treat it like GTA/CoD and not a survival game so I wouldn't want them playing any other games like it which they probably won't since most consider DayZ the ultimate hardcore game. Why should they be classed as genuine gamers when they're out to ruin the experience for people playing legit? Camping on coasts for the sole purpose of killing fresh spawns and making them not want to buy the finished product, it's retarded and pathetic.

hunger, thirsty, healty and a new for PSYCHE = moral

No because I love animals people I'm generally indifferent towards I have no empathy towards them. If I see someone hit with a car my reaction is pretty much "sucks to be them" unless it's someone I know, but a dog "NOOOOO" Not everyone cares so the game shouldn't force that kind of thing. How would it work anyway? Sometimes you're not even going to be sure if you did kill them just a case of spray a mag miles away -20 psyche points "I killed them woo!" or if you got no reduction then clearly you didn't kill them. Bullets flying past your head or hitting walls behind you should do it to emulate the fear someone would feel.
  21. UltimateGentleman

    Rewarding non military gear

Well I wouldn't really class that as the hunting gear since you find it in military areas, hunting gear should be in hunting areas is my thinking. If you want combat gear head to a combat zone, if you want purely survival gear, survival zone. Essentially. But with backpacks yeah that's the idea. You don't really need an assault vest with 5 mags in it if you're just settling down with a base and going hunting. Well fair enough but that's circumstantially better a moving target sticks out like a sore thumb no matter what they're wearing, someone who wants to lay on a hill and snipe needs a hunting backpack but otherwise it's just personal preference.
  22. UltimateGentleman

    MP5-K and Flashbang Obtained

Anyone tested how effective flashbangs are? They're going to need to add some kind of cover and peek system so we can throw them round corners instead of having to walk out in the open, throw them, move back and face a different direction. I just hope they don't often affect you too...
  23. UltimateGentleman

hunger, thirsty, healty and a new for PSYCHE = moral

I don't think it should work like that I for one don't care about people killing them wouldn't bother me so it would be annoying if my character did. But the general idea I like. If you play for like 10 hours and are constantly running around almost starving your character shouldn't be totally fine they'd start going mad, getting tired and shaky. Eating proper meals should restore your psyche, some nice cooked steak instead of hastily gobbling down a tin of peaches or raw rice all the time. To me it should be a status effect that revolves around taking care of your character, right nutrition, right amount of exercise etc etc if someone is only eating powdered milk and drinking Pipsi they should be shaky and tire quicker as opposed to someone who eats balanced meals and keeps well hydrated. Getting shot or shot at should lower your psyche and make your character "panic" but shooting people shouldn't, defeating your opponent and being "safe" should make them ok again after some minutes of calming down.
  24. UltimateGentleman

    Rewarding non military gear

That would be great too but I still think there should be gear suited to playstyles rather than preference. You shouldn't need to go find a combat knife to get 100% steaks from animals when really a proper hunting knife is more suited to that. The risk of military zones should be there for those who want to engage in combat and it should give them the greatest chance of beating others but for those that don't, living off the land should be made best by using hunting gear. So you have a choice between combat expert, survival average or combat average survival expert each with advantages. Or a mix of both, large backpack for food, sknning knife for hunting, assault vest for mags and hunting camo, if you're willing to risk what you have and enter a military zone.
  25. UltimateGentleman

    Rewarding non military gear

Because you're concerned about PvP, a hunter who stays in the forest and actually hunts needn't be. It's not like it's hard to spot someone running around with a hunting backpack anyway it's not an invisibility cloak it just helps if you're already still. You don't really need that if you're on a hill aiming at a deer it's only good against people. If you're a hunter and generally avoid people, hunting backpack isn't all that. But that's stupid the military isn't going to be as good at hunting as a hunter they're of a totally different profession and so is their gear. The only ones who would be as good would be snipers not grunts with assault rifles unless they happened to be hunters. The reward for military gear should be that you're a more effective killing machine which is what people go there for anyway. Hunting you're a less effective killing machine(for people anyway) but can fish, skin and quarter better. The military isn't the best at everything in real life so it shouldn't be like that in the game.
