Hi, So the current state of game play at night on stable is that it is not nearly as dark. This makes traversing the map possible without a flashlight. A Flashlight may still be required if inside a building or trying to find items on the ground. Overall I liked the old very very dark night time more. It made it scary and difficult when playing without gamma. But the new night time is also nice and makes game play a little more fluid. Enter the problem and my reason for the poll. The brighter it is at night the WORSE the gamma exploit situation has become. I believe the devs made the right move but I still feel in a game as punishing as Dayz players are hesitant to play at night time when they know others can gamma up for a HUGE advantage over them. This was evident the first time my friend and I tried to play at night with no gamma and it was as black as ink out. We ran along the tree line and a sniper from across the air field managed to snipe my friend when we stopped. i could not even see my friend and I was 5 feet away from him. That ended our night time play without gamma. Now under the old night time which was super dark even with gamma up there were areas of the map that were still very dark and you could blend in the darkness to hide and to hunt. My favorite type of game play in this game is as a "Night Stalker". I have gathered two sets of clothing for day and night. My night set makes me near impossible to spot as long as I dont run out into the middle of an air field runway. However with the gamma exploits you can see me as clear as day as if the sun was out. The fact that night time play can be trivialized to the point of making night mean you just play in black/white as opposed to color has chased the majority of the dayz community from enjoying the night time play in Dayz. Arguably this has the most potential for immersion and horror and forces players to adapt to a new situation. Sadly several posts here and elsewhere on dayz on the subject of gamma/brightness from the devs have stated they cannot/will not fix the issue. I hope this poll will cause you to reconsider. This exploit and in game option is ruining a portion of the game and also makes future items such as "night Vision Goggles" pointless... i will be the first to say that when I play at night I gamma up. Not because i want a distinct advantage over others but quite the opposite....if i do not I am basically playing with one hand behind my back. also while the night time is now brighter...it is near impossible to blend in the darkness at night from gamma exploiters.

Nothing in particular but it is that "last item" I need to complete my kit and has caused me an immense amount of danger to find it at little reward. I had a stand off earlier with a guy where I had to reassure him several times that I was at NWAF for nothing more than a combat knife and that he was free to loot whatever he wanted as long he left me alone.... -

Does not make sense...though. I am fine with very few AKMs spawning but they should be restricted to what makes sense... That said all guns aside from the MP5-K m4 and AKM should down in residential places. If all items can be found anywhere then why ever make the trek up to the northwest ? Players will stick to the coast more and more since large cities will have more loot. By limiting the spawns to areas that make sense in various areas of the map then players will travel more and infeasible of team death match in the cities u have a more thief/stalke type of game play. People run to the cities expecting pvp and that's it it changes the dynamic when u think u pvp can jump out from anywhere and u have to go search for people in the wilderness...a true hunt.

The 22, blaze, and shotgun stuff should be removed from millitary spawns and made to spawn in residential mainly...cause the millitary isn't using a 22 and these things are diluting the spawns.. More segregation of the spawns are needed. I love how mp5k is only in the police spawns.

Depends wherr u are looting... Low pop night time servers attract people to millitary spawns like bees to honey. There are not many big millitary loot areas... So even with 5 or so people online ur odds are high they are at the nwaf/vybor base area or the balota-zelengorsk-pablano secret base area. Also most hoppers do so at night so expect one area to be empty and then instantly another pops in behind u. Honestly best time to loot NWAF is mid day on a high pop server....it is empty...just dont go upstairs cause right now when on high pop servers it glitches out and breaks ur legs when upstairs

still safer i say then risk jumping to servers which are already looted over and over. but then again i am accustomed to and enjoy travelling through several high risk military areas a day to fulfil my goals....

i disagree quite a bit...why deal with timers and with the chance of spawning in somewhere and dying when u can just wait for the area u just looted and know is safe to respawn loot? Just leave and watch from distance until the respawn happens and reloot

ruined items increase dmg to u quite a bit as well as cause u to bleed easier. I imagine when diseases and such are added this will only get worse

The point in the poll is the devs said they could not do anything aside from making night time easier to see in.... Which that only makes the problem worse....the more u make night time lighter the more the gamma exploiters profit unless night time becomes the equivalent to wow night time where u can see everything just fine but the sky is just dark. I personally think they should remove the option entirely. The amount of players impacted by that will have to be very small. Otherwise night time play will always be spoiled.

Simple...the craziest thing that I have said/done/happened to me in dayz which no one believes when I tell them:..... IM FRIENDLY -
even without a flashlight the night time in stable .46 is quite easy to move around in. Sure u may not see all the items in a dark room but most players know where the items commonly spawn. In those situations all you have to do is hit tab and most the time you will see what is there and can take it.

I think knowing server time in game can be very helpful. A cool rare spawning item would be a watch which can tell the server time. Make it simple and solar powered like a calculator

Commonly happens on high pop servers. When on a high pop server do not go upstairs -
Everyone focuses on the issue of server hopping but no one focuses on the main causes. LOOT respawns do not work which causes other players to leave a server in search of fun that restarted more recently Fix loot respawning and I bet you a large majority of server hoppers quit.

Because I did not buy this game for death match... I bought this game for the exp of carefully searching and scouting large areas under constant threat of dangers from the players and the environment (like the mod was). I would say the fact that most the PVP takes place in the spawn areas is cause most the heavy "PVPers" in this game are nothing but spawn campers from proper FPS such as BF and CS who come on dayz to blow off steam killing the defenseless as opposed to marching up to NWAF where the big boys play. In the north east your either a geared bandit waiting for bambis or your a guy who recently spawned with nothing to lose. contrary to what you say the North west is plenty dangerous and is populated with a class of player who are more capable at defending themselves.
