While I disagree with the mantra "don't get attached to your gear" cause it goes completely against the immersion of survival instinct... U must be new to dayz cause they have wiped almost every major update... Now and then u get a couple patches without a wipe.. I have been playing a couple years almost and can say there must have been at least 8-10 hive wipes.. Has to be done and I normally just take a 6 month or more break cause I don't like having to start from scratch right away but would rather come back when there is a decent amount of new content. The more discouraging fact to me is that we are still in alpha and only at 59.....just wish it's get to 1.0 so I could actually care about playing long term.

I think once looted they don't count towards the economy... I have well over 10 barrells hun my camp and I counted about 6 more spawned in naturally I'm sheds yesterday while searching for batteries and burlap. Considering I know several others have camps up there has to be at least 20 plus barrels up that are not spawned and the server is obviously still spawning more. I don't think the economy should count player or camp items cause people could stock pile certain items they accumulated from many servers all in one camp... That in turn would mean players on that server that happened to have the camp could not find any of those items on their server just cause someone stocked up from another.

i have spare vehicles i can give up... as for currency no...what is rare is usually good to hold on to my not set in stone... Right now if u want one of my trucks find me some of the following: Black M65 Jacket Pistol Suppressors Blaze Snaploaders Netting CR527 Mags also I would need multiple or some sort of combination to give up a truck though

There is very little to brag with in this game unlike other more competitive games such as CS go...i dont even know the players i am competing with and often times i am lone wolf and may never see that player again... This is what I love about dayz...I am on my own and can decide who lives or dies without a care in the world for things such as KD ratio or which clan a person is in... In fact some of the biggest offenders in terms of hacks/exploits such as duping have been clans or at least people who play in groups more often...why ? because historically some of the biggest exploits have required the assistance of others and Clans are often the ones in the best position for such a situation. Then again I am one of the rare few who prefers to play the whole map as opposed to just the hot spots. Never have I found joy in marching into berezino to try and take out the pvp kids who are shooting up the bambis...to me the joy is methodically making my way towards my objective for the day and if I happen upon someone tracking them for as long as I can before making the decision to take em out or carry on...Sometimes it is slow going and it feels like i am all alone on even on full servers and I used to enjoy this until the devs added in more "immersive" effects to 1pp over the past year which makes me feel like I am constantly in a car going 60 mph staring out a window as opposed to just moving along (this effect is somewhat in 3pp as well but it is more tolerable when zoomed out) . Not to mention the horrible FOV, head position & all the extra movements and actions we must perform in game which were clearly coded with 3pp in mind as opposed to 1pp which have always been there but made things clunky

It is a game not a competitive esport and many enjoy both 3pp and 1pp no sense in limiting that only to private shards. There are no leaderboards giving out epeen awards My addressing is it is always better to have options and also very difficult to deal with when features are taken away esp when those features are the ones people prefer. Again if dayz 1pp had not continued to nose dive as it has I wouldn't even care honestly but currently it is overly restrictive, blurs way to easy when moving not to mention that many of the complex actions in the game are easier to deal with in 3pp than 1pp... I know I can get used to performing these actions in 1pp but that does not take away from the fact that many of them feel as if they were programmed with 3pp in mind.. For example leaning left or right it is easy to get stuck in lean position in 1pp and not realize it except for the fact u can now only walk cause despite the fact that it leaning the fps perspective does not reflect that your head is tilted

Yes but at the same time what ur recommending is akin to forcing everyone to drive stick cause u think automatic is too easy.. Dayz 1pp mode has only gotten worse in exp and has chased many away from it who once enjoyed both. Sure they can improve it but the changes made so far have only been worse it is by far the most restrictive and least enjoyable fps exp I have had in years

it is great that you "think" that but the current and past state of play disagree... Large majority of the players back in the mod and current dayz have played 3 pp over 1 pp options Limiting 3pp to only private servers screws a lot of people over not even from a preference point of view...i am literally looking at my server list on friday night and if u exclude exp i cannot find non official server that has more than 10 people on the west coast with less than 100 ping....if i include exp west coast servers all told player count with more than 10 people online add up to about 200...this is on 3pp of the 1pp options not even a single west coast based official or non official server has more than 10... So this solution means I prolly wont get a 3pp option with decent ping less i drop the $80 month to host one myself...

Few official servers ? I am pretty sure the vast majority of the current servers are official... Also I know we call this alpha but I highly doubt come full release we see this game as popular as it was 2 years ago when early access first opened so I would expect server count to decline....now if they are gonna make fewer official servers that would make sense to me... On the other hand I have never been a believer in the private hive mind set and don't want to be pigeon holed into playing on one just cause it is 3pp... If the 1pp exp was improving I would not be as standoffish but what I have seen over the past couple years playing this game is the 1pp exp has become more painful for me....now everything looks like a mirage and the constant bobbing up and down makes me sea sick after awhile....half the time when I go to trun everything becomes a blur as if I were driving a Nascar at 100 plus Mph... no hate for 1pp immersion in fact I love them but.... 1pp used to be fun once i got over the bobbing but the "new features" added for immersion have made such that after 15 mins my head and eyes hurt and I feel sea sick (I dont even get motion sickness on a boat). Either allow both modes Or allow only one...on both private and public servers.. Ultimately seems like a money grab to inspire more people to rent private servers to fulfill the demand that most the player base wants pandered off as improving immersion and making purists happy but really just hopping for more people to rent private servers to fill the demand and bring in more cash all while leaving the 1pp public players with less people to play with. There are alternatives and this game isn't new....taking away large features wont necessarily keep the player base active. One final thing with declining active servers u forget that some of us in the world get the short end of the ping stick...i live in CA it is a struggle to find high pop privately owened servers with a ping under 100 often i am stuck turning to servers on the east coast where my ping will spike over 200... in most other fps games i play a ping over 100 is auto kicked... it puts me at a disadvantage and the loss of say public 3pp servers based out of CA further removes an option...and i may not be able to just join a convenient 3pp server on a private hive.

personally with the new blur effects and stuff they added being in first person literally makes me nauseous... before i took a break i played 1pp just as much as 3pp. forcing people to be 1pp only unless they join a private hive is nonsense to me.

Think of it this way it basically makes the m4 so rare it is not worth finding so instead u just roll with a more common ak setup and spend less time hunting down all that m4 crap

yes the only real way to have persistence. but it enables u to have more options three of those images are so black i cant see but the first one looked like it :) Mookie beat u guys there though so he most likely took the M4s ;)
