Too difficult/frustrating in the beginning?

I spent a couple WEEKS watching tips vids, tactics vids and straight up gameplay vids as well as read how to DayZ forum topics before I even downloaded the game. I knew from just a few mins of vids that this is NOT a jump in blind and let the fluffy tutorial take my hand. You die, you learn, you die again. My #1 tip for survival of your first hour is: Spawn, run directly uphill and inland through the forest. Then loot. Then die. Repeat. -

Could the freeze / ctd have to do with an increased video render demand in 1pp? Happened once when I ran my face deep into a berries bush. "Search for berries? " FREEZE -
I've had zero problems starting fires. Large open ended shed or small shack, howling wind outside...1 match. 5 stones and 5 wood Burns a looong time Amd cooks much faster.

Since my last post I have had 1 freeze, 1 ctd during gameplay, 2 ctd upon logout. These only began when I started a hardcore character on a us west "...Gameservers " hosted server. My regular character is on a g4 us west server. No issues at all. -

So I started fresh on a half full HC server. Played for a few hours. Looted far inland, no firearms. Found a x-bow, no bolts. Crowbared some zeds. Came out of a tool shed in a tiny village, BLAM. Unseen kos douchebag one shots me. Welcome to Hardcore. -

Imagine how fulfilling and over the top FUCK YEAH this game would be if devs removed all but 5km from the coast----->inland. Maybe add military buildings in EVERY village/city/town and implement kill counters on HUD! /bittersarcasm What fun it will be when these city folk finally make it to my Western Woods;) -

I play 3pp(except indoors)mainly because 1pp reminds me of Bumper Cam from TD3. Horrid boxed in feeling. When natural feeling Occulus type gear is affordable and functional in a "natural" sense I'll gladly go 1pp alldayeveryday. Also, I play with the assumption that someone is always peeking. -
I find them daily in double door garages and now "bus garages".

That's because you're pvp focused. The implementation of resource needs requires more industrial loot spawn areas. I've been focusing on woodland activities which require less ammo and more industrial items.
