I was feeling a little silly about the whole remorse thing, but then I think of the effort I put into gearing and it reminds me how much I hated getting killed. Such is life I suppose...

As soon as I fired I felt like it could have gone down different. Thanks for the tips, I will absolutely consider them in the future. To answer your initial question, there were 4 of us, we had been pretty quiet the whole time so I'm not positive he knew we were around. Hard to say really, but we had been in the same area for around 30 minutes (based on the shots we heard earlier). I think I'll chalk this up to "heat of the moment" and make more of an effort to not be a random murderer in the future. Thanks again for the reply, and the tips..

I just logged my 100th hour last night! Up to the 99th hour I had never had to kill, but that all changed in hour 100. I thought I would feel differently about it really. I am almost remorseful for doing what had to be done. My group and I made our way to the NWAF and heard what we thought were shots in the distance. Carefully we made our way in the direction we though we'd heard them. Decided to stop and check things out, and seen this guy running straight at us with weapon drawn. My mosin was unforgiving, but I wonder if we could have peacefully resolved the situation. I guess it could have ended poorly for one of us had I not shot him, but I still wonder. As a side note, he called me a cheating scrub which sort of baffles me. My first kill... I thought it would be something different. (Sorry there isn't really a point to this, I guess I'm trying to wrap my head around being called a cheater more than anything)

2 weeks or so on my regular (Logging in daily). My hardcore has been around for a very long time, but I am super careful there.

One of the guys in our group last night looked like he was fired from a cannon. We warned him to stay out of the tower but he insisted, and the end result was semi hilarious. We couldn't pick his stuff up and it was suspended what I guess to be 30ft or so above our heads.

Thought I'd use a deer stand to get a better view of things. I was shot off there like a wrecking ball!! Of all the deaths I have, most have come from climbing. The lesson here, keep your feet on the ground. Seems that the last few days this has been happening a little more than normal. A few guys in the group I run with have had similar issues (I've read it in countless posts). What is the most unusual way you've met your demise? Super-manning off a deer stand is my number one at the moment.

I never announce friendly anymore! Every single time I've declared that I am friendly, I've ended up looking at a black screen. I try my best to wait out most situations before deciding to pull the trigger, and I've had more good encounters than bad. There are nice people in the game, but don't expect too many people to go out of their way. I've only had to kill two people and one was a mercy killing. I have however been killed 3-4 times (without being spoken to)

I walked through the valley of the shadow of death, I died! I crossed the road to get to the other side, I died! I fell out of a deer stand, I lived until the Zed ate my face! After carefully making my way to the military base and supplying myself to an adequate state, I made the mistake of walking downstairs without looking. Some kind soul spawned as I was looting upstairs and had an itchy trigger finger when I came down. He approached slowly as instructed me to lower my weapon. I did my very best to drop my pistol but I didn't move fast enough. In my final moments, using my last breaths, I asked WHY? WHY would you do this? To which he responded, "Why not"...

I figured out the server not auto refreshing business, but for the last 2-3 days, when I refresh, my server list completely disappears. Eventually it returns but I found it puzzling. comma comma comma comma. I may have grammar issues :P

2 and maybe 6. So far my face to face interactions have been positive. I have been sniped a few times as a fresh spawn. Generally that doesn't bother me much as my new spawn location was an improvement though. Not everyone is an ass though...
