Yeah, I don't share with anyone else. I am the only one that uses the internet. But I use wireless connection through my laptop, would I have better connection if it was wired? My router is about 5 feet away from my desk, I just don't have an ethernet cord of that length.

Not to sure if I should be posting this here but, here goes. Whenever I load up the servers joining DayZ, the server list shows about 20-30 servers. All that are showing are below 100 ping (usually in green). All this time it never occurred to me that there are WAY more servers out there that I just couldn't see. When I move my max ping up to 350 in the server settings (default is 100), 100+ servers show up. But the problem with these servers are that they are averaging around 200-350 ping. Is it possible to play online while having ping this high? Will I be at a disadvantage if I get into a gunfight? I mostly join servers that are below 100, just to be safe and for optimal gameplay. I live in Hawaii so the internet out here isn't the best, I get around 15mb download and 1mb upload. I read somewhere that those numbers don't make a difference regarding ping. Does anyone have any experience with this? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

I don't know where it is posted but I can't seem to find when the DayZ server maintenance times are posted. I am trying to login but none of the servers are showing up, yet my internet is perfectly fine. Guessing it is just maintenance.. I live in Hawaii so I don't know the actual time difference. If anyone could post the times it would be nice, thanks in advance.

So I recently picked up a silencer for my M4 and I know it does not work currently. But I do have it equipped (just for looks) and was wondering if it had any impact on the accuracy/bullet spread etc? Also I have found a compensator for my mosin but it is "badly damaged," will it perform the same as a "pristine" compensator? Yes, I carry a Mosin on my back and an M4 in my hands, it's a pain in the ass but I like the combo. Let me know what you guys think.

I think at this point in my entire time of playing DayZ SA (only around 60 hours), I hate walkers more than other players. I generally stay away from other players unless they are bambis that I intend to help. But as of recent, the walker mechanics have been a pain in my ass.. -Looting a building and next thing you know my leg is broken and I am bleeding -Aggro from 300+ meters -Wall glitching -Takes 10+ hits to die from melee weapons -Kill 1 zombie quietly and 5 seconds later I have a pack of 3 on my tail -Getting hit and ruining all my gear when there is clearly no zombie around me -Running away at full sprint and zigzagging, yet still getting hit from zombies following me Just had to get that out. On another note, anyone catch last nights Game of Thrones?

Is it like the rarest spawn or something??? I have around 50 hours played and I have yet to find at least one... What do you guys think, are they more common for you guys? Or am I just unlucky. This includes camping at airfields and jumping servers for respawns..

Hey guys, got a noob question for ya. Say I have all pristine gear etc... For example if a walker hits me and say my cargo pants goes from "pristine" to "badly damaged," does that affect me in anyway? As in, does it give me less protection from other walkers that may hit me or players for that matter? Same for an attachment like a mosin compensator, any difference in performance between a "pristine" or "badly damaged" item? Thanks for the help guys

Loving the replies guys, it's interesting to know how differently some of you guys play the game. I think it's time to get out of my shell and go help some fresh spawns even if it may cost my life. In other words... LEEEEROOOOYYYYY JENKINNNSSS

Alright guys, I purchased DayZ a couple days ago and I am about 20 hours or so into the game. I am on my 3rd character and have finally made my way inland to gear up. I have acquired all pristine gear: fire axe, ballistic helmet, tko pants/jacket, camo UK assault vest, hunting backpack, m4 (all prestine attachments/200+ rounds of ammo) etc.... Now what do? I was thinking of joining a popular server and trying to be a "hero" but I just don't like the fact that bandits can KOS and here I am running around screaming "friendly". I would be devastated if I died from being sniped and having to re-gear another character without really playing it. But then again it is DayZ and you don't really experience the game without getting out there and enjoying it (dying and re-gearing all apart of the process). I was thinking of joining a clan or something but at the same time I feel I am still a noob (NEVER been in a gunfight), so I don't really have that much experience. I don't have the best computer set-up so I feel as if I would be at a disadvantage in PvP (runs somewhat smooth, around 20-35fps). So I guess what I am asking is, what do you guys enjoy doing after gearing up characters?

Alright guys, I am on my second character and I finally found 2 weapons around the same area. I don't know if I am lucky or what. The first is an SKS and the second is an M4 (carry handler optics - badly damaged, buttstock OE - worn, and handguard plastic - worn). I did some research and I came to a conclusion that it is all preference. Being new to this game I was wondering what you guys think I should use. Thanks for the help!

My goodness, I feel like such an idiot. It apparently was night time and I thought something was wrong with the game. There I was running around in the dark with my gamma turned all the way up and my flashlight on... Thanks for the help guys lol

So I just downloaded DayZ, was super hyped. First time joining a server and playing and this happens. I can see my surroundings, but its extremely black. I can move around and do all functions its just that everything is almost pitch black. I am not too tech savy so I am not sure what the problem is. I have read previous posts saying it could be my graphics card etc... But I am not to sure. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance =)
