Same problem here. Running Logitech 5.1 and it all works fine with the brand name games but in DayZ it's useless. I hear a shot and have no clue where it's coming from.. How the hell does JamJar know "instantly" where the shots come from?

I never hung around elektro unless I spawned there. I like to roam and learn the map. I've watched players scavenge and Hunt each other while perched on a hill top. I'd rarely take a shot unless a player deserved it and there was an out if I missed.

+1 I've seen this game model itself from "The Walking Dead" with a lot of it's tools, weapons and gear but a zombie can multi hit you???? While you're taking one slow ass wing???? REALLY DEVS???? And it's not like we can shoot off a zombie's leg to take him down and make them crawl noooooo. These things are now so overpowered that yes, now we have to be uber careful but in my mind this isn't very good for the overall experience. Yeah I'm more careful now but after seeing how many times a zombie can land a hit on me versus how many times I can on him, it's bullshit. There needs to be a middle ground here DEVS, not constantly swinging the patches from one extreme to another. Last I checked, when you swing a fire axe, it pretty much chops off anything it comes in contact with. Why can't we chop a Zombie in half hmmmmm????? I'm all for controlling the rampant PVP in this game but not at the expense of ruining it for everyone. Stop trying to control the players and just fucking develop the game already. Make the GRAPHICS BETTER. MAKE THE NET CODE BETTER. MAKE THE SLI COMPATIBILITY BETTER. That's development and THAT'S progress.

My 1911 Engraved is a one shot one kill for the civilian Zeds as long as I'm in close. If they're aggro'd then it takes 3 or 4 shots.... Silenced as always as to avoid bringing more to the party.

This game turns players into animals... Players stalk and kill each other. There really is no trust and it has all boiled down to survival of the fittest. If your dumb enough to eat a can of peaches out in an open field then expect to get shot. Yup I learned this the hard way but with every death we evolve. This not to say I'd mindlessly KOS someone. Usually if I see them first I hold my ground and watch them as they move on but there are those times where it's either you or them and after many attempts of trying to do the right thing and getting fucked over by assholes I'm playing the cautious card like many others. It's a shame really because planting tomatoes and farming would probably be a nice distraction from all the paranoia.

Hmmm..... I seems everyone is mistaking my post for some sort of rant or need for an explanation. Far from it. I was just pointing out the obvious. I still like the game and enjoy the changes that come with every patch, For the guy who made fun of me getting killed while eating peaches... Yeah yeah, spare me the response of it never happening to you in one way or another. We've all done some really stupid things in this game that lead us to get killed but like I said, we evolve and it seems that what we are evolving into is animals..... Basic, primal animals unlike the ones you see in your REAL daily life. Whatever you all submit as an opinion is actually entertaining. So may different views on how this game is evolving and in turn, making the players evolve.

Think of it this way.... Almost a DECADE ago, a team of idiots and scammers decided to create some hype about a flight sim they called "Fighter Ops". They raved about how it would be the cats ass of flight sims and how immersive it was going to be. The hype eventually enticed many people to donate REAL money and invest with the promise of a magnificent flight simulation that was gonna turn the world on its ears.... You know what they got? JACK $HIT!!!!! Actually I'm exaggerating. They got some wall paper screenshots and a few videos. That's ALL. Now, bring yourself to the investment you've made here with DayZ. A game that WARNS you and explains IN DETAIL how it is still in its ALPHA phase and how there WILL be many bugs and glitches BUT, at least you get to actually play the game (for just 30 bucks) and you get to actually SEE progress. Think of the retards who bought into Fighter Ops lol... Man I cannot believe the nerve and sheer lack of human compassion to rob people of their money the way the Fighter Ops developers (and I use that term VERY loosely) did with their followers. Hey guys, I have an insane setup that I spent a lot of money on and yet I'm still getting screen tearing and graphical glitches. I build my own systems so I really know the ins and outs of my system so I'm wondering why I can lay Battlefield 4 on ultra with a consistent FPS if no less than 70 but suffer much lower FPS performance in DayZ? Thanks to all for the replies, much appreciated. During the past few months, I learned that there are settings that can be changed in the dayz.cfg file as well as the tweaks provided through youtube to force SLI using Nvidia Inspector. I also think that editing the launch parameters using Steam helped as well. My FPS still drops to below 30 in towns and cities but it can go as high as 120 when at an airfield or out in the open. For those who are interested, here are the two videos I used to get decent performance from the game and be able to use both cards. Cheers :)

Hi guys, If this has been posted already my apologies. It's becoming very tiresome that in order for me to pull out my axe, I have to move in a circle and slow down to a brisk walk while the zombie can attack me at full speed. Second of all, this seems like a survival sim so in the spirit of that concept, we should be able to pull out weapons while in full sprint and not be forced to slow down to a brisk walk, while a player or zombie opens up on us. I know this to be true because I tried running full tilt the other day and pulled out my iphone.... the universe let me keep running full tilt and didn't make me slow down to a brisk walk.... the neighbors thought it was a bit odd though.

Not if you're moving in a straight line. If you try to pull any weapon out while moving in a straight line the game makes you stop, pull out your weapon and then it's on. In order to get around this (at least a little), I have to run in a circle while I pull out my axe if I'm gonna fight a zombie. At least this will allow you to keep moving and not let the zombie zero in on your position for a strike. Against unknown players I won't even risk it and just run for cover, to assess the situation.

I agree.... I've never been crazily attacked by any zombie... It's a simple matter of circle and swing..... Or pop a cap in their ass.

Of course retarded players hack and pirate on PC more than console. That's because hacking and cracking executables on PC is a matter of software manipulation which is MUCH easier to do on a PC. Even then though, you will never be able to crack an online game long enough to be able to get on legit game servers. Sure you may be able to get on for a few days if you're lucky but then you'll be locked out and if you used an account you've had for years you could lose your account along with any legit games you purchased on that account (not worth it genius). Console hacking requires some hardware manipulation and therefore is hardly ever attempted. And again there is the legit server issue.

Snipers covering or scoping the area are itching for a shot. I'd kill them. The rest can live. I'll even avoid them and flank around keeping myself on their three or nine to be sure I have the upper hand in case they become a threat. That said they would not be a threat unless they see me which hopefully they won't. If they do it's a quick run into the woods and a sneaky flank. No movement, no sound. It all depends on them really

Hi guys, New to the game and wondering why ever since the patch 2 dayz ago, I'm always either in a server that is night time for hours on end or a server that is daylight for a few minutes (an hour at most) and then night time again. Seriously trotting around trying to defend yourself with a dinky flashlight for hours and hours is NOT fun. I even quit and went back to Battlefield4 lol Is this something that can be fixed on the server side by the server admin or something that is here to stay?.... If it's here to stay, I'm out as I'm sure many other fans will be. This should NOT be a mandatory part of the game. Server admins SHOULD be able to decide if they want a daylight server or a "real time" server and strong arming them this way is pure BS.

I disagree with the piracy thing but only with regards to all online games. You can't pirate an online game and still get on legit servers. Sure you can crack the single player campaign and that's fine IMHO as it gives you a good taste of what to expect in Multiplayer but today's online games are just not worth cracking, therefore the crackers usually just crack single player and leave it at that. In this day and age it's not a huge hit to their profits and if anything, it makes the person decide to buy the game.

@Dekamme, Regarding a 3k price..... Keep in mind that my current setup consist of exclusively branded "gaming" gear. My monitor, keyboard, mouse, case.... These are the things that most people don't account for when they talk about cost. Of course I didn't put this together in one shot. It took me about 2 years to make a 3K system. I'm quite happy with it and most of my gear is hand me downable to the next upgrade I make but I'd say the initial cost over the course of the past 2 years was about 3K.

So it's been about a week since the game has forced day/night cycles. Has this made the game any better? HELL NO. The server hopping is rampant to stay on daylight time and night time is reserved mostly for looting. I don't even get why they forced this. It's not like it's making anything fairer or more realistic. Players are just finding ways around it and locking brightness and gamma is NOT the solution. Do this and most people just won't play and move into another game. And for those of you that disagree and are going to argue this point; Keep in mind I said ***MOST*** and not **ALL**. I'm getting more and more used to night but that's only because with gamma and brightness jacked I can actually see stuff but it's not the way I prefer to play and once I'm done my night time looting I'll hop into a daytime server with friends and the fun begins.
