    Stary Sobor : Sniper Haven

I have gotten a lot and I mean A LOT of kills in SS while sniping. I would never try to loot this area...
  2. I find it bad form to just snipe noobs at electro or cherno. My hunting grounds are NWAF or SS because I feel it is better more and only more experienced players go there. Discuss!
  3. The only people who would survive are the people that live in rural areas. The suburbs are a maybe. Anyone that lives in high populated areas would be the first to die regardless of what kind of guns they have. Europeans would not be able to defend themselves due to a lack of house hold firearms. It's safe to say that the bible belt of the USA would be the place to be if a zombie apoc were to happen.
  4. i decided to create a guide for the noobs aspiring to be bandits. In an ideal world here are the things needed: 1. Matches, Hatchet, Hunting knife, GPS, NVG, compas, Binoculars. 2. Ghillie suite 3. Coyote backpack. 4. 4 water bottles and 4 meats. 5. Medical Supplies: 3 bandwages, 2 morphines, 1 epi, 1-2 Blook packs, 1-2 pain kilers. I like many of you have friends on the same server and sometimes help is needed. 6. Silinced primary weapon with 4-5 clips along with a DMR in the bag with 3 clips. Range finder is nice to have but not a must. Side arm for hunting animals/zombies. Pretty basic load out. You will want so many water bottles so that you can basically live off the land, travel long distances, and replenish yourself at fresh water bodies of water. This also allows you to not have to loot in order to get food which increases your length of survival. The ghillie suite is imperative for blending in and moving around. You don't understand how well you blend in to the environment until you equip one of these. The rest is pretty standard. I understand that this is hard stuff to come by but it can be done. As for weapons, I prefer the BISON SD due to having a 64 round clip or the silenced M4 due to having a red dot site with zoom in capability which is awesome. I chose the DMR due to the ability to use NVG when you snipe. You must under all circumstances cary a sniper rifle with you in your bag. This takes up ten slots but it is so worth it. You don't HAVE to have a range finder but it is nice. It's pretty easy to estimate with the DMR but at times you will miss but the beauty is you will have the range to GTFO if need be. Places to hunt: 1. NW AF (setting up shop across from the barracks or near the barracks in the tree's is ideal. 2. Stary Sober This place is a snipers delight and you will always find players at the tents or in the grocery store and can see them coming a ways away due to the hill tops. 3. NE air field more dangerous but good hunting grounds for a good sniper. These are you number one hunting grounds due to finding people who will be moderately decked out in gear. I would avoid electro or chern if you are geared out because it just isn't worth it to kill some noobies. Try to stick to tree lines in order to blend in. Avoid towns unless you need ammo or medical supplies. You can usually find good stuff in deer stands as well. It is also always good to have a base of operations and establish a camp with a tent deep in the woods to use as a supplies depot. Don't ever run unless you need to make a quick exit. Always crouch. Running causes you to consume food and water at a faster rate thus causing you to have to search for more food. Running also allows you to be spotted way more easily. Be patient and be smart. Crouch when traveling. What to look for: 1. Zombie spawns always alert you when a player is around. 2. Check the high rewarding loot areas h as helicopter crashes. I know this gear is not all that easy to come by but once you do get it and learn how to play you will see how fun being a solo bandit is. You will be self sustaining. The biggest rule is remember that you worked hard for your gear. Moving alone allows nobody but yourself to blame if you get killed and I find playing with others slows me down and I have to make up for their mistakes. If you are going to play with others make sure they are geared out, offer them nothing of yours unless you have to. Keep your water bottles at all cost along with your morphine. Make sure they are established and self sufficient just like yourself. I do not recommend going out with noobs. Enjoy!
  5. If a zombie apoc happened I am willing to bet that the majority of you would die from the get go due to obesity and not being able to run.
  6. Why on earth would I be lying? There is nothing to do after you are fully geared. All I need to do is hunt animals, fill my water bottles, and shoot the odd player....
  7. Dayz will be a selling point for Arma 3.... trying to survive is easy, not really a challenge when you are properly geared.
  8. Helping other players? Yeah right, let's face it. The only time this game is fun is when you first start out and are trying your best to survive. After that, it gets old fast.
  9. Well in sandboxes the end game is a player driven end game. The reason eve works is because you have bigger more expensive ships that people strive to work for as it is a sense of accomplishment. If this game wants to retain players and keep them coming back that need something. In no way am I comparing this to a theme park.
  10. PvP is on easy mode right now. All you have to do is look for zombies and then you know players are nearby. It ruins the element of surprise for both the attacker and the one being attacked. How much of an overhaul would it take and can this be fixed while not affecting performance? Discuss!

    shotgun or sniper

Like others have said. I keep a DMR with 5 Mags and an M4 SD with 5 mags. Both have various roles. There comes a point where you will no longer need inventory space due to being geared up. This is when all you do is hunt players and the only time you go into town is for medical supplies and ammo. This can usually be found off players as well. So carry your sniper rifle or silenced weapon in the bag.
  12. 1. This is a big one... I know this helps with optimization but is there any way that zombies stay around and do not just spawn when players are near. This mechanic greatly affects PvP and makes things easy as well as hard. You will always know when a player is around and players will also know if you are around. It makes things hard and easy and eliminates the element of surprise. Is there in way to fix this without hurting performance. 2. Insert local world wide chat ONLY channel. Me and several others want to talk smack after we PWN a noob and not having a server chat channel takes less fun out of it. I am sure several agree with me here and this would also help the community. As well as cause good laughs when one sees the nerd rage. Discuss!
  13. And this game is a PvP game. Not a friendly pvp free paradise....
  14. "Crowe: And then the EVE players came in. Hall: And then EVE players came in. And suddenly, wham, there are all these massive exploits. I just shut down Europe, all the Europe servers, you remember? While we fixed that. It was only New Zealand that we could keep running." Several large entities are flocking to this game. Entities from Eve-Online. These entities consist of thousands of players. The risk/reward PvP mechanics and sandbox element make this game very attractive to Eve PvPers. No offense, but this isn't exactly good for PR. You're supposed to be marketing this game and not pointing the finger at people who play the game....

    Why bash Eve-Online players?

So basically us Eve-online players have a reputation for being the meanest of the mean when it comes to sandbox games?
  16. Torothin

    Why bash Eve-Online players?

The Eve community is helping to develop this game the right way. By finding bugs and making people aware of exploits. granted, several of us are not team players. Eve after all is about screwing people over.

    Wait a minute.... WHAT?!

Silenced M4 is better, Bison SD is better, Saw is better,

    Best Sniper Rifle

You also need to mention that the DMR allows you to use NVG with it thus making it very good for bandits.

    Best Sniper Rifle

I think the SVD is the best. AS50 is ok. DMR is the most versatile.

    Rocket Disciplined for 1.7.1

Winter doesn't stop anyone from going outside. Especially when you can hike the magistical cliffs to Mordor. Just sayin....
  21. Please tell me the rumors are not true?

is Rocket giving up on Dayz?

Someone linked an article of rocket raging on what appeared to be reddit but I am not sure if ti is legit. The article was linked via screen shot on a private forum. Not trying to start rumors and I do not even know if the article is legit. But has anyone else read this?
