Thanks for all the support guys, and yes, unleavened bread would be the way to go. You could maybe make hard tac, in case you run out of good canned food, because hard tac can't be ruined. If it gets shot, it breaks into smaller pieces that are still edible. You can maybe grind flower from wheat in the northern fields, and get sugar from convenience stores

Some movement mechanics need a major tweak (before 1.0)
threedogification replied to Ugly (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
I agree with rocket in that reddit post. The clunkiness is in the game for realistic human movement, this game, again, is still in development, and I'm sure this will be worked on over time. Maybe they might even take the movement system from ArmA 3 -
Results of killing (insanity, morality)
threedogification replied to threedogification's topic in Suggestions
So in an unpredictable apocalypse where you lost everyone you love, instead of cherishing the last hopes of humanity, you will just mercilessly kill them -
Deeper, richer, dead body experience.. Can we have this?
threedogification replied to Irish.'s topic in Suggestions
Persistent dead bodies is a great idea, and maybe, devs, after a restart, the body will turn into a static item in the landscape as it looks decayed like its been there a while. -
I know right!

Results of killing (insanity, morality)

Ok, now that I see that you guys who are against this have no morals in life, I'll add this: • This was a suggestion • I didn't want a flame war • Constructive criticism is wanted, not a "lmao this is dumb lol this is my irrefutable opinion" • I wanted you guys to help implement a morality type system not based on the mod, but rather, people irl who are ptsd from killing innocent people •This wouldn't affect your play style at all if you played it right, you can still be a bandit and kill 10 people a day and not have insanity set in, only a moral drop Thanks for all of the hate and arguments you guys -
Wow, I love this idea too, the devs also need to add this in
-
If I could harvest pumpkins, I would never have to cannibalise ever again lol
-
This a good idea, but who knows if they'll add it in. The devs are picky with adding things in. This may be added later depending on if they get te renderer and engine finished in time.
-
You can go on dayztv.com and check it out. I believe it will have a lot because by the looks of it, it can fit a small squad in there easily, maybe 5 people.

Remove random laughing as a side effect for cannibalism please.

And everything you've stated is what I've been pushing for removal since I joined this forum. I really do hope they push to remove 3pp, infinite running and stuff like that because this is supposed to be an apoc sim not a call of duty run and gun. -
They've already added a large military tent in experimental I believe, which is carried as a backpack over the shoulders

In first person servers, you have a early level playing field based on sight. Someone can't see you until you reveal yourself

Thank you karma, that's exactly what I meant with this. It's not a status effect more like a subtle thing effecting your perception and other statuses -
Lighting Fires in Fireplaces inside homes.
threedogification replied to DURRHUNTER's topic in Suggestions
DEVS LISTEN UP TO THIS SHIZ. This is the best idea I've seen in a while, and I've wanted this for a while. Why would we have unusable fireplaces in most houses? And to add on, we can cook more food in larger fireplaces and less in small ones, so if I barricade a large house with a large fireplace, my squad and I can potentially live there indefinitely -

Ok then they should increase the threshold for this to at least 15 then, because if you kill 15 people you are definitely identifiable as a bandit lol -
I really enjoy seeing stuff like this because it's friggin cool! I would love to see this implemented

But Claws, why would you kill freshies? They haven't done anything to you and are only trying to start up. Now if they attack you, then just shoot them in the leg and leave them alone, it won't be you that kills them -
I really like this idea, but it would take too long to implement, and even though this game is slow paced, how long do you think people would like to sit down and actually write the dang thing

Third Person View should be Over-the-Shoulder, NOT a bird's eye view.
threedogification replied to Rags!'s topic in General Discussion
I've played many play styles in 3pp and 1pp and I've noticed that a bandit play style is far easier in 3pp than in 1pp. I agree with the over the shoulder hot key, it would give it a more limited 3pp to add more realism. Dayz is supposed to be a gritty, realistic survival, not a game that I can swing my camera around the corner and have the drop on someone without even exposing myself -

Today I'm going to learn you guys a thing. Ahhh yes, Dayz, the immersive open world survival that still relies on third person even though it breaks immersion. I have played an equal amount of time on both types of servers (first and third) and I noticed a few cool things. The KoSing in hardcore servers drop drastically simply because people can't sit on the hospital and look around in third person. They have to actually stand or sit and look around, exposing themselves. This is very dangerous, and anyone who isn't retarded notices this. I believe that Dayz as a whole should remove third person. In real life, you can't look around corners without physically looking, and it gives bandits an unfair advantage. In 200 hours of hardcore servers, I have not once been unfairly killed because the bandit could seee before I could see him. Imagine that you run around a corner and see a man with a gun in the street. There could have been two options in this situation: In hardcore servers, you both saw each other at the same time, giving equal reaction time. In regular servers, you could have seen him in third person without exposing yourself. People all around these forums keep talking about immersion breaking, yet they overlook one of the largest aspects of immersion, such as feeling that you are your character, instead of looking over his shoulder. If third person was removed entirely, then players would be nearly completely immersed -
I think we should do away with the conventional inventory and add in a system like on The Forest. You have to manually open your backpack and look at the stuff you have. If we take this concept and the fact that we can see our characters, we should be able to look down into our vest and pull out whatever we need manually. It would add a better reason for keeping ammo in the vest or pants and no essentials in the backpack. If you put your ammo in your backpack, you would have to sit down and look through your pack to find it. On a second note, I would like to be able to mix and match character stuff, like putting a hammer in my belt, or putting a pistol in the back of my pants. In the real world, organization is key and you can't always carry an axe on your back with no strap or anything to hold it on. When you find a two handed weapon as a bambi, you should have to put it in your belt like a sword until you find a backpack with adequate straps to lock it down

I kinda feel that chernarus needs to be "blown up"
threedogification replied to 5mirkeh's topic in Suggestions
I really like this idea, gives it a Game of Thrones type feel to it. The north could require at least a down coat to enter safely, only because it has an average temp that is 15 degrees lower than normal. Fires would be essential and only the real survivalist/deathwisher would enter -

I +1 this -
I think they need to fast forward the apoc at least 5 more years, add overgrown plants on building, and an immense sense of decay. To walk into an abandoned town is one thing, but to experience a decayed town.... I want a city to look like New York in crysis 3, thick grass and vines everywhere. This game is only getting better with every update, but to add something like this would be amazing.
