Somebody is bound to make a mod for it OP. Is modding possible in the standalone yet? Will it ever be possible? I haven't got the standalone yet and I haven't played the mod in almost two years. Reinstalling it now.

That is true, but I still think it should be implemented. There should be plenty of ways for the player to mess himself up without having anything directly happen to him or her. You know what I mean?

Plus the fact Chernarus is not where you live so its not going to follow your seasons. And yeah, easter eggs would suit a game like this well, but I don't think the players are supposed to decide what they are.
