and how do you find out who is the hacker? Without the obvious killing him and checking his pulse? Goodluck with that. This isn't like CS where everyone calls out the hackers name and then you steam ID ban.
-
I actually knew they didn't charge for servers themselves I worded it wrong, but its still the same principle allowing users to host public servers eliminate them from hiring as much servers. Server restarts and ability to kick people who you can't even track down (example a hacker) is basically nothing in return for hiring a server lol. Yeah took them long enough, I wonder how many people buying public servers will keep it public, considering, 1) a lot of people who buy servers try to misuse them anyway (looking at rule breaking names) or 2) Didn't know how restricted the servers are before renting one out. I would like to see BI hosting Public servers them selves, with first class hosting and stable connection. then private shards for all the crazy shit, i don't care if a whole clan flys in with rocket back packs carries me midair and gang bangs me, I expect that shit on crazy 3rd party hosts, it's always been like that in games.
-
You're missing the point, BI should not charge others for Public servers, it should be their sole Responsibility. It's like saying, hey why don't you rent this truck for us, we will use it but you pay. How about renting this office property for us, we will use it but you pay. List goes on. What do we get for hiring a public server for BI, a company share %? A server for our own personal uses? We get nothing. Only thing anyone can say about is we are helping BI out as fans. OK have it your way, let's pay for all server hostings for every game out there. Let us the users take responsibility for that now, thats the messaging we are sending out with DayZ, it's fine we will take care of public servers. I'll say it again: *Puts one hand on other arms elbow joint and raising other hand as a fist into the air* The ones who pay, this is how much of fisting you guys are getting, how do you like it? I bet you like it very much, this much of an arm up your anuses.
-
Can't believe people are even ok with Bohemia Interactive even allowing the users to take responsibility to pay for public servers with no control. The whole point of buying your own servers in Video gaming is so you could do whatever the f*** you want with it, and up to the other gaming users if they want to Participate in such nonsense rule sets. Imagine trying to rent out a hall for a party or wedding and the people saying yeah you can, but you need to let everyone who wants to join in, even shady people who might come in to cause trouble, the title and banner of your party needs to adhere to these specific naming rules, Also you can only play pop music, only serve fast food. *Puts one hand on other arms elbow joint and raising other hand as a fist into the air* The ones who pay, this is how much of fisting you guys are getting, how do you like it? I bet you like it very much, this much of an arm up your anuses.

Really!? The only thing fictional in DayZ is the name Chernaurus? REALLY? REALLY!? That's the only thing you can find fictional about the game.

So now its about learning is it? In that case everything should be Russian, Game options, game menu, server lists, mouse over tips, etc. We can all learn Russian better that way. Stupid arguement is f**king stupid, if I want to learn Russian I go study Russian the same way I learn't the 3 languages I speak now, when I want to play a game I dont want bullshit written on my screen. Whatever.
-
A little bit of English written text isn't going to break the realism for me and I'd much prefer be able to use/read signs but I can see how people might want to go through the pain of trying to read those signs, might as well make everything else Russian too, food, items, everything should be russian then... get it really realistic, it's so stupid they drew the line at road signs...
-
I've always found it horrendous to read signs in russian and use an online map to translate the name of towns, also people unable to tell their location and unable to read signs, especially new players. Bohemia Interactive is based in Czech Republic so that's probably why, but yeah it sucks to not be fully translated.

Turn speakers on. Make sure it's plugged into an electric socket. Test if electric socket is working with a fork, you should feel a slight buzz. Disclaimer: I'm not responsible for any electric shocks.

We are alpha testing for our grand children, so once you're done go and spread your seeds as much as you can. -
Quit four months ago, uninstalled the shit right off my ssd, been looking at the patch notes ever since, really pathetic and lame updates to be honest, not expecting much in the next four months, they won't hit their intial beta deadline. Maybe four years from now. People still denying that DayZ SA is just a supported version of DayZ mod? They just didn't want to do it for free anymore and they cashed in BIG Time. Deny it all you want. I'll take my leave now as I just dropped a nice turd here.

1) Will it ever be opened for modding by users to be able to change server rules and change certain game mechanics (the more control the better). if not then some other questions/points are: 2) Why not? Why will Rocket who started this journey by using a game that allows modding and whom is a modder himself be so inclined to force his ideas onto players, with no options to change things or freedom. This feels a little hypocritic, arrogrant and greedy. 3) It does not need to effect DayZ SA at all, You could have your default server tab for Official servers, and a side tab with custom games with servers that are modded/changed for purposes of "fun" it would be like Starcraft where you have your official games and custom maps that players have created. People who oppose this idea are only opposing freedom for more options and obviously incline to force everyone to play on the same servers with same rules that they themselves enjoy only. 4) I dont need to play another game or call of duty or whatever else others may stupidly suggest, I feel that i can make DayZ a great game for myself and my friends who play and other users whom may be open minded to join modded servers and check out their stuff. I feel dayz can be a great game for me if i could just change a few game mechanics. I feel some ideas and rules by rocket/bis are just plain terrible and ruin the game for us at least. 5) I understand the things I ask for are already available on Arma 2 and DayZ mod, but it won't be a solid foundation as DayZ SA, I like how most of the stuff in DayZ is working now, and just to make small ruleset changes that will overall make the game come across different than the offical servers.

I guess you mean admins asking for donations? this is basically true with every game from minecraft to garry's mod, personally I wouldn't join a server that gives big advantages for donations, but that's me. As for 100000 helis or vehicles or loot, who cares? You don't need to join that server, heck I wouldn't even care if they had flying enabled and advertised their server as flying mod dayz, remember these are suppose to be differnet to the official server otherwise there isn't much point to it, they would be like the crazy golf of golf.

/facepalm Comparing campers to game exploiters. You have campers in nearly every FPS, what you don't have is Wall glitching in most games. Really its like saying someone farting in public area is the same as shitting in public area.
-
You spent like 80% of the time just exploiting though, look at the characters inside i didn't see them brush agaisn't the wall and lean into it so they were clearly not exploiting. Its just funny you made a video what seems to be bragging about skill on how you took out 4 people but I doubt anyone is going to be impressed with the amount of time you spent hugging that wall. I remember a whole world of warcraft guild got banned for exploiting a boss where they skipped the whole dungeon by glitching through a wall, yes people do it, most don't make video about it though lol.

You can't stop modding just because some people will abuse it, if that was the case then DayZ wouldn't have been made, and netiher would have DotA in Warcraft 3 which lead to big titles such as LoL, HoN, Dota 2, Smite, etc. People won't stay on garbage servers with crap admins they will quickly move on you need to build a community around it. I didn't really want to elaborate because people are predictable and they will start a flaming if they don't agree, even though no one wants to take official servers away from them. But some key areas for me are: Pop up screen/message on server joining outlining all the changes so people get adjusted right away.Different Spawning methodsLoot, loot locations and %'s, same for vehicles. Some decent ingame map by pressing "m" so people don't need to use Shift-Tab and to open dayz map on steam web.Grouping and ally symbols make it easier to not friendly fire, grouped players can then talk ingame from anywhere so no need for TeamSpeak or inviting new people TS (another idea i have is if you kill someone in a group they spawn and drop a radio next to their corpse which you can use to listen into their coms until said player spawns back into game after timer)Guns should ware out when you shoot so you not incline to KoS everything.Killing a player that had no kind of weapon on him and that did no damage to you, should add a status of "guilt" your player goes around for 5mins playing mix of sounds from moaning, I shouldn't have done that, etc so it gives away your position to a certain radius and also people will know that you killed an innocent.Little changes like this and many more... you get the idea... God mode too, and ability to fly with my_people_need_me.mp3

Is Controlled Spawn points still in the Road Map, any news?
blazed posted a topic in General Discussion
I remember Rocket talking about controlled spawn points in the initial roadmap, he briefly mentioned it and it was the most exciting thing for me at least. Can we get any official statement whether it's still in the roadmap, planned, worked on or ditched please? I quit this game like over 2 months ago and also lost interest in the forums as you can see from my last post, I've been following the small updates which are just the finer details of gameplay nothing major or game changing. The other day I hopped on to play with some friends who were playing dayz (rare these days) and I spent 30 mins running to them and shortly after died, I just closed the game and forgot about the whole thing. I've had my fun with dayz over 300 hours, but the game is no longer for me, I don't want to lonewolf as I find it boring and I don't want to spend 30-40mins running to friends each time I die or log in, so that's me out then heh? I know the people in these forums (which does not reflect the overall gamers opinion who purchased dayz) love their hiking simulations, but srly f**k em, please cater just a least a little tiny bit of love towards the mass population. -

blazed replied to blazed's topic in General Discussion
I know... in all my 300 hours of dayz and befriending people I have never met anyone ingame that loves the hiking sides of it, its quite the opposite people complain and get frustrated but they don't vent their opinions on the forums to silence the opposition, I think what's happening is the people who love the game in it's "current state of alpha" are the ones becoming big enough fans to visit the forums on a occasional basis there for their opinions overshadows the general people. You see the people have their ability to play the game how they want, lonewolf, random spawming etc, I just want to also play the way I want, an ability to spawn where I desingated, that place would be our base of operation, so whenever we died we pop up there, so friends can wonder off but if they die they pop up there and it just lessens the burden. Maybe some other similar idea. I also know what you mean about the updates, I don't think they will hit beta by the end of 2014 like they said they would, reflecting on what has been added since december 2013 till now and what else is left to be added until the end of 2014, doesn't seem likely. -

It doesn't matter how nicely I phrase it, i've bought up the topic of few times and it always starts a flamewar. They will argue for what they want and I will argue for what I want, otherwise it's over for me anyway as far as DayZ goes. Unless we can mod servers later and add all this manually to our own server than that would be great. -
Am I the only one seeing this..... People losing faith in the game
blazed replied to thelonewarrior's topic in General Discussion
I agree with the initial novelty thing wearing off, when you first play this game you get the whole unique thing about it, then after a while you realise that other games had it right while this one becomes overly frustrating, boring and tedious. I still play it though, I like to make the game a chore for others too. I deterred one friend already from buying this game, explained to him how the spawns work, and the KOSing, and the hours of running to find loot in specific locations which are spread far from spawn points, or just generally running to meet up, etc, it didn't sound like a fun game at all after I was done talking about it. As for the people who make it their mission to argue with complainers of the game instead of ignoring them, I mean where are you guys in REAL life? I see people shouting and complaining and swearing in the real world everyday and not a single pip from the general public, you all got tiny balls behind your monitor screens, why don't you guys go confront people in a psychical environment? Go save a employee from a customer abuse and then maybe you can feel good about actually doing something for real. -
What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
blazed replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
This is pretty moronic tbh. Teleporting is something that happens because of how BIS has allowed it to happen within their game engine, it has nothing to do with BE who can only detect hacks/software running on a computer plus any other techinques they use to catch cheaters. Nothing to do with gameplay at all. If an .exe file / software is not detected by BE then they won't get banned regardless of whatever hack that is permitted (vulnerabilities) by the engine. As for .pbo abuse, again BIS fault here, not BE, would be utterly stupid to ban every user globally because of a .pbo file being missing or corrupt, so many false positives will happen. Besides making manual alteration, deleting or moving game files is NOT hacking, it should NOT be a ban offence, This is just bad design on BIS side, but they are obviously trying to fix these loopholes and you have notice some certain types of hacks have been removed completely. My only concern is that the few programmer geniuses that can create hacks for themselves solely, will probably never get caught, this is where Server admins and bans + visible names would be an advantage. It's a little like private trojans that don't get detected because their signatures are not picked up by any Antivirus, the file needs to be sent to a company that will read the file, see it's properties and see what the said file does and then add it to their databases. -
What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
blazed replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
If VAC was super good at what it's suppose to do, and stopped hackers I doubt DayZ would have considered BE as a secondary protection, so this is a good thing for you & your company. That being said the attention and task is thrown upon you guys so no one really cares about VAC. I still see cheaters everyday, I'm running around with 21474214814814 m4 bullets after stealing it off a hacker, I can take a screen shot if you like, however is this a DayZ glitch or a hack? If it's a glitch process then I completely blame BIS over it, if it a hack I blame BE because I run into it everyday on different servers that it's created this illusion that hackers must be running rampant if I come across it THIS OFTEN. -
Is DayZ being developed right in your opinon?

Hi Irish, I am aware that it's by BIS and that they made Arma 3, Didn't really care much for Arma3 so don't know about their early Alpha stage, please feel free to link me information about How much Alpha was and how much retail is now. G2A has been selling arma III for $40 global key since time now, even cheaper on similar websites. The cost of a game to me is where ever I can buy an official version of the game at the lowest price, not what steam says. Currently you can't find cheaper version of DayZ unless of course people are still selling stolen $5 keys? I'm sure people will be able to get DayZ on release for similar prices at around the $30 mark. But hey man neither of us can prove it right now as it's something that will be decided in the future so we are both clearly talking a lot of BS as anything can happen by that time. I bet Key selling websites will already have 1000's of keys at the $30 price, and will undercut Steam prices if prices go above normal. Also Hi-Rez Studios is a pretty big and reputable company too but that didn't stop them from lying or changing their minds about their God pack sales... -

I am aware I have purchased the product fully now, as I said its a bit like pay me now and I will give you the FULL product later. As for the price rising... I seriously doubt it, its a scheme. I think 30$ is the price bcuz A) it's alpha so its kinda sucky right now and B ) it's not a totally new game, it was already out there in ARMA 2. Heres why I don't believe it. Do you know the game SMITE? I bought the Hero Pack that unlocks all heros for about £20 During Purchase it Said LIMITED TIME OFFER, Unlock all champions for £20, Will end in after beta forever. Then some developers and mods and forum posters said if it does come back it will be much more retail price, and that it was an absolute steal. Well game has been out for months and the sale is still up and at same price. Surprise! I think most people will have already had bougth DayZ by then, and I really cant see this going for $60 or something after being on $30 for so long, I calling it OUT now and I will refer to this post in the future!!! I have had the pleasure working as 3D artist, I might have had bad luck but my CEO's and managers all cared out pumping out shit to get the money ASAP. Not saying every company is like this, but the ones i've worked for at least. -

Fair enough but it's a little like Pay me now and Receive product later. They used to be a time when companies had to pay a lot of game testers to do this sort of jobs. They used to be (and is still the case) time where alphas and beta's were free. Now H1Z1 has jump on the bandwagon too and even push it further, $20 just for alpha and game will be actually F2P. (why does this seem like such a dirty money-grab for me?) Next we are going to Pay for Alpha entry, Beta Entry, and Release entry. More will come, as the evidence of the Alpha games is on the rise! Sure one can avoid dodging the alpha scene but it ruins the game alltogether, imagine the amount of content related to DayZ, spoilers, and experienced players by the time game hits retail? It won't even come across like a new game but an old one that's technically been out for a while...
