  1. Thanks for your suggestion Orlok. I will do that, or perhaps I should email bohemia directly instead? If I email them my cdkey and screen shots of my payment screen then hopefully that would constitute proof of purchase.

I suppose I should have expected skeptical replies as to my ownership of the game, even when I asked for an official bohemia download - which surely would be useless anyway without a valid cd key! Anybody can download an Arma 2:Combined Operations Ultimate Virus Edition torrent, but I don't want that crap on my computer. It would probably steal my key anyway.

  2. After a 6 month DayZ hiatus, I decided I wanted to reinstall to give DayZero a try. However, I have recently discovered that the site I bought Arma II - Operation Arrowhead from only make their downloads available for a year from date of purchase (Games Rocket - I wouldn't recommend using them btw). So unbeknown to me my cut off date to download was 1st June of this year.

I still have my cd key, but no installation files.

Is there an official bohemia ftp site where I can download the Operation Arrowhead installation files from?

If not then I will just continue to wait for the stand alone, I can't justify buying Operation Arrowhead twice.

    Thanks.

  3. I think it'll only be further down the line when they're releasing solid regular content patches that really add to the game that people will realise they're not just polishing a turd, before that though I think they're in for a rough ride.

Your better off rolling a turd in jewels and diamonds if you want it to look better. Thats what I do anyway.

  4. Lol I like your idea commiedic.

I read that Rocket said it would only take him about an hour for him to incorporate another map into day z because day z is modular, or something to that effect. Once the mod is finished I can see there being plenty to do with multiple maps.

Perhaps you will only be able to collect things from particular maps. And maybe you have to cross one map to reach a boat or some other kind of transport in order to join a server running whatever map requires that form of transport to get to. Not sure if such a thing is possible, but I think it would be pretty cool.

  5. Your experience mirrors my own, and many others have said similar. Unfortunately, since bandit skins have been removed its a hell of a lot easier to just kill on sight everybody you see. Death match with a side dish of zombies. Rocket is working on a solution though, hence the introduction of the heat beat thing.

  6. I think Syndikos has a point, perhaps we were spoilt by how easy the game was. Getting gear and surviving was easy. The only worry was other players back then, the zombies were simply background noise in a game of death match. They were a minor nuisance but little more.

However, the tedious thing about the game now is all the crawling involved and you can't crouch walk around houses without zombies outside noticing. The zombies do need to be toned down a bit, but not back to the level they were at. Its just a balancing act really.

  7. I like spawning without a gun. Unfortunately my torch does not seem to want to turn on, I can point it around but thats it. Anyway, gamma and brightness up and job done.

Since we have now been thrown into a world populated by super zombies, I have found the hatchet to be the best weapon. You can silently slaughter zombies without other players hearing your whereabouts. However since it takes such a long time to switch weapons, the draw back is if you run into anybody then your dead, unless they assume you aren't carrying anything of value or they are amongst the extremely small minority of those who don't kill on sight.

  8. I'm not getting into what they did' date=' however me and my friend are now packing awesome gear. Also, today we found even some bonus NVG. From now on, we're hiding in the vast wilderness of Chernarus. No point in approaching the dead... or the living. We have more cooked meat than we can carry, supply of 20 blood bags, canned food through the roof, soda, canteens...

We also have 2 rifles, one M4A3 CCO and another M4A1 SD.

    [/quote']

Is sitting in the woods eating tins of beans and knocking back sodas actually fun though?
