Right, my guitar sold so I'm buying the i5 2500k but when I searched on eBay for the nvidia gtx 550 theres like a thousand different ones. Made by Asus, pny, exga and they all look different on the exterior (fans, colours) but specs are the same. Can anyone shed some light on the differences or compatibility? Thanks

The RAM is 1333mhz and it's a 4gb stick so i can upgrade :)

I'v got most of my gear now. I'v gone for: A sweet ass case 4GB DDR3 RAM ASRock mini ATX mobo 1155 Intel i5 2500K (what does it mean, unlocked?) Nvidia gtx 550ti It's all coming together nicely so thanks again for all your help :)

Well in 2 days I'v managed to gather £250 by selling stuff and debt collecting lol I am yet to sell my guitar which will go for £300-£500 so my budget is looking promising. I'v decided to go the whole hog as I used to be big into pc gaming but as my tower got outdated I just gave up trying to keep up with new gen games.

Can people please read this thread before posting. I'm a guitar teacher who earns £100 a week I can't afford a £500 computer. And I don't know much about computers but I'm pretty sure I don't need an i5 to run this game Mansen does Soegs i3 build look the shiz? If so I think i'll just suck it up and start building that lol

Ah don't worry I figured it out. I am now selling one of my guitars for £400 so hopefully it goes and I have a nice lump sum to spend on this i3 based tower :)

First SOEG thanks for going through all that just to show me the difference. Two with this pc art picker can I buy the parts bit by bit or does it order the whole bunch at once? If so I get payed weekly so this would be a much better option for me :)

Cheers mansen for sticking up for me there. The was no need for a dickish comment like that. Also once again SOEG your dropping the excuse for buying an insanely priced computer because ARMAIII is coming out... I'm getting fed up of saying it now but I DON'T WANT TO PLAY ARMAIII!!! I had never even heard of ARMA until this mod. When I get my comp I'll want it to be able to run this, Operation Flashpoint (Original), Medievil Total War II, Sims 2, Minecraft and other old games. I'm a console gamer purely because of the amount of hassle it takes to get a computer to run current gen games. Skint I'm going with your advice, you reckon 4 GIG of RAM will be fine? If so I shall go with the Nvidia you pointed out. Thanks :)

I didn't say I don't care about the performance, I Don't care about the specifics. I want the comp to run this game and that's it. so whether its single, dual or quad it doesn't really matter to me because i'm not going to be playing things like GTA5 that will require it. You guys are confusing the hell out of me. Is it worth paying £100 more for an amd quad core 3.6? or should i stick with amd duel core 3.0? I'm not a massive pc gamer, I just want to play this!
