You can say its a sniper all you want but if you've actually used it ingame you'll know that is not the case. Its accurate upto 500 meters without zeroing so thats pretty fantastic. One of the only guns where you can put the crosshair on something far away and actually hit it right there and then. It's a fun weapon but i tend not to use it unless i have worse weapons instead going with the stated assault rifle bagged sniper rifle combo.

If you double tap left control your character lowers your main weapon, he is stating that if your character is in this position and your press prone you will do the swan dive. So if your gun is lowered, which can happen after performing several actions like looting or other when you click left mouse your character will raise the weapon again.

I have seen this happen on multiple occasions now, in my group i tend be the designated sniper so i stay back while my friends go in. When i see zombies spawn because of my friends close proximity to the town with this patch i almost always see one pretty far away in the village suddenly running for them. Its a bug, im sure of it. Not sure what you are trying to say here but you cant put the hatchet in the sidearm slot, hatchet is main hand only. If thats what you said consider this message none existent.

Me and a friend encountered the NE airfield being on fire, it was caused by someone that had crashed a heli on the runway. Not one of the loot helis, an actual flyable one. Made it look like the sky was on fire for miles around. Weird stuff, nice going finding a sniper rifle. I tend to find the CZ550 a lot which is a great gun up to 800 meters where you need to make headshots to put someone down. At the NE airfield me and 2 friends were looking for loot and we had just checked all the barracks and towers and were sitting on a hill discussing where to go next, my friend heads down to the line keepers box at the edge of the airfield (the toll booth looking thing) to check for ammo and drinks. We're talking on skype when he yells i see movement, skype goes silent and we immediatly go prone. At our edge of visibility we see a guy coming down the hill heading towards a cow that was standing there and he shoots it. Me and my buddy had a CZ550 at the time so we take aim, telling eachother its like 700 meters away so to zero to that range. The guy goes prone to minimize risk but we realise he has to crouch to gut the cow so we wait and take aim, he crouches and we open fire. Two bullets hit his chest from 700 meters away and he barely hears a shot, he passes out and starts bleeding but hes not dead yet. We try to finish him off but from that far away and being prone its not an easy shot, but my friend gets a lucky hit and he goes down. But my friend at the linekeepers box is under fire from somewhere so we scan the treelines but see nothing. My buddy next to me is getting low on ammo at this point with no secondary rifle so i give him my last CZ550 clips and i grab my m14 and move off down the hill in a large circle to see if i can come behind whereever this other guy is. My buddy at the box has run out of ammo so he picks up a crappy double barrel shotgun that was on the ground and starts firing sporadically to keep the other guys attention on him. I've moved around the target and my friend finally spots him lying prone just next to the road almost invisible because of the long grass. Im almost behind him at that point and i take aim and fire 5 shots. They all go wild. Now he knows im behind him so i hide behind a bush where he cant see me because of the grass in his face, he makes a decision to go for me and stands up. The start moving towards me and at that point a bullet enters the back of his head from my friend who was still 700 meters away, marksman shot. We take home the gun with the thermal sight on it and an m4a3 and a shitload of medical supplies. We later get congrats from our adversaries over sidechat and a GG for an awesome firefight. Best experience in games in a long long time :)

Sounds like a good starting experience many people can be envious about. Lucky finding some guns at balota without getting shot by bandits in any case. If you can remember the details about farm buildings being your best start get to buildings then you should have some fun times in chernarus.

Yeah its a tad annoying, most people dont do this though. Next time take a precaution and have one person sit in a corner. When me and my friends do an op somewhere we put ourselves in overlapping fields of fire. On a side note, they are testing a beta patch atm which doesnt let people log out when under fire or something like that. Fingers crossed.

You need the long extended white tanks near gas stations, not the small white ones. And if it doesnt give the option on those, the jerry can is either full or its bugged somehow. Jerry cans when found are already full.

Dont try to put rifles into your starter backpack, it will disappear at the moment. Also if you are stuck in walk mode double tap left shift.

Just take the dive, add some ram and try it. Im running it with 4 gigs of ram just fine, and i dont even have an i5 just a quad core.

Glad to see more people trying the game, just remember that dieing is a big part of it so dont feel bad about it.

Yeah the vehicle parts act a bit weird, the only advice i can give on the matter is that you leave room in your main inventory so you can pick it up. The part then turns into a normal piece of kit which you can move around into your bag, or you could drop it again and then move it into your backpack, whatever makes your happier.

I know they slowly move in your direction if you're making noise, but that's it. Sometimes it might look like they move towards you but thats just random coincidence. Seem to be a lot more zombies about with the last patch though, as in more spawn inside towns and on the outskirts. Ofcourse if you can get this confirmed i'd be pretty amazed.

Remember it stays on the server you put it up on, it does not travel with you to other servers.

Had it that i fired my weapon when i tabbed back in but that has happened only twice in a long time of playing. Getting stuck in a weird angle has not happened to me before. Could be keyboard/mouse related, as in usb conflict.

You'll learn fast and die a lot in the process, when you get to the point where you feel that dieing is just a way of starting over and its not a bad thing the game becomes a lot more fun. Sounds weird now but it'll make sense after some more hours spend ingame.

Some strange bugs do occur sometimes still, i for one got crushed by an invisible vehicle of some sort at the docks one time, pretty goddamn horrible to see happen. My brother got thrown into the air and died coming down. Sounds like yours was a hack as i agree that any other means of killing you would have set your blood to negative readings.

Yep, the new patch can cause you to lose some of your stuff. It has also been reported by people that they lost some or all off their vehicles. Generally though if you put stuff into a tent or vehicle you will need to click save in the roll menu when you are facing it to save items stored inside. On a side note, vehicles and tents will not travel with you to other servers!

If you are using sixlauncher to install and launch DayZ then you do not need to download any beta patches, sixlauncher does it for you.

Gotta shoot multiple windows for it to work, think of it like one giant panel of glass which needs multiple breaks in different locations to well.. break. Also the boxes that you see are the best ones for medical supplies but they tend to spawn onto an existing loot pile, empty the loot pile they are sitting on and then you can acces the box itself.

http://dayzmap.info/ is your friend The wiki and the forums are also your friends, the stickys with survival tips are a must read, this game is all about survival so extra intell can save your life. Learn to distinguish which buildings will help you get a weapon at the start or have a chance to spawn something usefull. Check the small barns and long barns for an axe, they can also spawn the winchester which is a great gun to use but the ammo has become pretty rare in the last two big patches. Bigger chance of the double barrel shotgun, which is allright but the axe is better when you know how to use it. Small chance of it spawning The CZ550 sniper rifle, which is a great gun to have versus players, but if you are starting out then consider if you are going to use it, and the ammo is pretty rare. Found an axe and maybe a can of coke? Look on the maps and find deer stands, these drops some great guns with common ammo and they also eventually lead you close to a town or city. Leave the citys cherno and elektro alone at the start unless you want to go on a pvp rampage session. ( which are great once in a while ) The smaller towns up north which have supermarkets (check the map for shopping cart symbols) are not visited all to often by players but have all the stuff you need to survive like bigger backpacks, matches and pistols. Stay away from Stary Zobor if you are not confident enough in yourself yet, its death trap most of the times as it has a military camp which spawn a lot of loot in one place and is generally infested with snipers. Pro tips for closing. Running trough fields? Keep an eye out for crashed helicopters, they spawn a wave of zombies around them but they spawn some of the best and rarest loot in the game, generally some of the rarest guns. They spawn loot AROUND the helicopter NOT INSIDE THEM. Going to a town, go on a hill a bit of ways away from it and see if there are any zombies walking around already, if there are then somebody is walking around over there, go introduce yourself or shoot them.

I really hate the head bobbing, first thing i told my friends to disable when i dragged them into DayZ.

Spawning without a gun hasn't really made the game harder, i'd say it made it more tricky. Most veteran members and new players learn pretty fast that when they spawn where they can find some weapons. If you cant make it at the start then drag a friend into the game or hook up with someone trough the forums, the game is awesome with 2 or 3 people. Completely different experience and it doesnt even make it easier. Veteran players don't have it easy either, i tend to drop off stairs A LOT and when the latest patch came out promising it was harder for zombies to break legs i went out with an axe and oh boy the third zombie to hit me broke my leg. Crawled halfway across the map with it untill one of my buddies logged in.

I think they are referring to the ones running a server for people playing an illegal version of the game, you can easily recognize them in the server list as they have [ No CD-key ] in their server name. Generally just avoid these, they will work for you but anything you get there will not port over to another server.

If you have fast internet then delete the @Dayz folder in the operation arrow head folder, deinstall six launcher, redownload it so you have the newest version. Install it again, install Dayz from sixlauncher and see if that fixes anything. Sixlauncher has bugged out on me in the past but reinstalling always fixed it.

Install six launcher and let it do all the checking and updating for you, fixed everything for me post 1.7.1.4
