i never heard the "radio broadcasts" people say happened in the mod days. without recording/video of these audio files from the mod it's just bs to me. the solider mass grave and the wooded isolation was uniquely creepy.

is it implied that green mountain actually is a numbers station? is there anything actually in game that supports this? or just fan creations? this is interesting: i want this to be a part of the SA Lore.

i'm tired of this thread. 1. it's alpha. you can play/test however you want. 2. considering the very real fact that the SA is a complicated deathmatch ATM: expect to shoot and be shot at for "no reason" or "the wrong reason" more than "the right reason" 3. OP made the attempt to establish voice and text communication with his victim. this is not KOS and he wasn't obligated to let an armed player outdraw him. 4. chatting up a player and killing them when you don't get a response is valid. everything you do in game except exploiting, hacking or breaking the TOS is valid. 5. going to a highly populated area at night on a 50-100 pop exp server and letting someone kill you while you don't make an attempt to flee or defend yourself means IT WAS YOUR FAULT the op didn't break the legs and force feed disinfectant to a fresh spawn, he killed an equal opponent who could have easily won/escaped if they were SITUATIONALLY AWARE or EVEN HALF AWARE OF THE GAME ELEMENTS.

The sunsets are very nice on exp right now. I like the "magic hour" as dusk begins to set in. Here is a recent screenshot. This is 1280x720 interlaced on minimum settings. Night environments are darker as the moon is the only light source I can seem to detect, and the moon on exp is a very low-res placeholder right now. InsaneAradia made a thread on flashlights/torches and their lack of AOE illumination. I assume certain textures do not reflect light sources yet. I look forwards to more lighting developments. Thoughts? -

tested with post processing on. very nice results. shadows and clouds affected minimally. textures and filtering plus objects and terrain on VERY HIGH is the best. unfortunately i get driver crashes more often running it that high. -

wow that thread is nice. also if this is moved to gallery section it might be better but this is a cross post about exp and environmental lighting tweaks and upcoming changes so maybe it should stay here? i'm going to max out my settings on 1080i and see what kind of screens i can get on exp tonight. -
"if you made it to NWAF, in the dark, on exp and did not pay attention to your surroundings (inculding audio/UI} you deserve to be shot and killed" however, buildings DO get in the way and block the sound transmission of DIRECT chat! this is confirmed by my friends and myself talking to each other around and inside diffrent rooms. notAgirl may not have heard you, but still, fuck it. you lived. you won.

dat water reflection tho i assume your settings are maxed? i want to find the sweet spot between "perfect lighting" and "playable framerate" i have clouds and shadows at very low and i assume this is the bulk of the lighting enhancements along with HDR. -

whoa. that is nice how the glow of the cloud saturation from the sunset colored the room in the two first screens. when and if the building interior textures absorb/reflect dynamic lighting we will seem some very nice looking contrasts while traversing buildings and countryside during lighting changes. ty for sharing. -

by using a controller key binding program you can get the "essential controls" bound to your controller. by switching presets with a default key, you can have standing/sitting options that are different and wouldn't fit on a controller button layout. -

yes. i agree. i think that different light fliters applied to the dynamic background illiumination would provide some uniqueness to certain areas. that way, a swamp or an open field could look different than a city in terms of ambient light and how that light is filtering the through color palette. -
