How many times have you been killed by a server hopper?

Actually, Im going to just ask a mod to close this if people like you continue to be dicks. Using a loot server is not cowardice, people like you who go and insult others on the forums is cowardice. This thread is derailing. I would ask any further posts to atleast adress my question before you decide to insult me or go off topic. Thanks.

Oh look, another illiterate who cant read. Please move along.

    Weapon degradation

Now that's interesting. Guns found in houses/military locations should have high mechanical, and guns that spawn on the ground in some places (when they do) should have med to low.
  4. So should I have more dexterity to scale with Ricards Rapier? Or is it just best to go with the Black Knight Halberd?

How many times have you been killed by a server hopper?

Read the damn post people, god, is it that hard? Are you illiterate? He spawned in right behind me, like the post SAYS. The server was NOT empty. I posted because magically appearing people are a problem as they can pop up anywhere. If you aren't going to read the topic, and if you are going to go off topic then don't post. Sweet Jesus.

How many times have you been killed by a server hopper?

Yeah, like I said, population was a factor when PICKING the server. I still use this one server constantly though, even if it has 20 people on, so what's the problem? Would you rather I go onto a high pop server and get shot at every single good loot location I go to? Because that's exactly what happens. The good loot on those servers is also close to none.

How many times have you been killed by a server hopper?

Because it is one of the only servers that doesnt have many server hoppers, and it has very consistent loot. The Clan there is also friendly, and wont shoot you on site, unlike server hoppers.

How many times have you been killed by a server hopper?

Again, I always use this server for loot, regardless of the population.

How many times have you been killed by a server hopper?

By that logic, any use of the Public hive is server hopping. No, you are just falsly accusing and even ignoring what I posted. I have been using this server "Band of Brothers" for looting for months now, regardless of the population. Who goes on an extremely low pop server, in the highest loot spot to "Play?" Not only that, but I ran down there afterwords and got there about 10 minutes later. Guess what? All the good loot was gone, including my AKM, and including him. He was kind enough to leave a note on my body though. "Git gud scrub" it said. Not joking. Also, as I said, what pissed me off was him spawning in a room that I was just in. Its very immersion breaking if you can't ever check something and feel safe, because someone might magically appear in there and ambush you.

What Will Happen To PVP in 0.55?

Again, zombies wont change PvP. Will they change gameplay? Of course. However, that will not stop people from killing others then running/hiding when zombies come. Dont forget that zombie hordes will only move players inland, and the KOSing will continue there with full force, because the engine simply cant handle alot of hordes both inland and on the beach as well as a full server.

What Will Happen To PVP in 0.55?

"Stupid douchebaggery?" The only douche bags here are the people who think the game should tailor to their wants. I do not like KOS anymore than anyone else and, in fact, play as a hero. However, you can't call people douchebags for playing the damn game. Killing is all there is to do now. The survival mechanics are barely implemented at all, so stop your whining. Even when survival is implemented, KOS and PvP will still be at the core of the game.

What Will Happen To PVP in 0.55?

I played since the beginnings of the mod and the first patch of standalone... Mod was far better than SA in terms of KOS. I would say I only got KOS'd 50-60% of the time in mod. In SA, I get KOS'd 70-80% of the time. PvP IS at the heart of this game. If you don't believe me, play by yourself or on a PvE mod server. It gets boring real fast. In order for DayZ to have a fun PvE experience, a lot of work is needed. The zombies have always been nothing more than temporary obstacles.

What Will Happen To PVP in 0.55?

You stopped playing because you couldn't handle competition against other players, not because it was turning into a "COD map where zeds are a minor nuisance." The only one whining and crying here would be people with the same mentality, once they finally realize that no matter what, this will always be a PVP based game, not PVE.
  14. Insane Ruffles

What Will Happen To PVP in 0.55?

... DayZ has always been primarily PVP, and will always continue to be. Even if hordes are added, there will sill be around a 70-80% KOS rate. If not with guns, then with axes.

    Question about Zombies...

I remember in the mod, zombies would start to eat you after you got knocked unconscious or you died. The screams your character made after waking up and being eaten were terrible.
  16. Ever since .30 update, clothing has acted like armor. The more you have, the less damage you take. This is extremely apparent when using the Mosin, as fully geared players require 4-5 hits to knock unconscious while fresh spawns only require one. I did an experiment, took a character and fully geared him up with a range finder, Mosin nagant, LRS, and 150 rounds of ammo. I set up camp between Elektro and Berezino as that is where most of the traffic is, and started sniping people indiscriminately. First, before you rant about that, I was testing, I did not kill people out of malicious intent, I didn't even take their gear. During this time, I killed 3 fresh spawns, 3 med-low geared people and 2 fully geared people. The fresh spawns were extremely easy, being dead after one shot to anywhere above the legs, and knocked unconscious when hit in the legs. Low geared people (Those who had raincoats, motor helmets, and cargo pants plus a taloon backpack) took about 2 hits to kill. Med geared people (Those with a little bit heavier clothing, and maybe a holster or vest) took 3 hits in the body to kill. High geared people took literally 4-5 shots in the body to kill, which is ridiculous. Most of the time when shooting the legs, it took 3 hits for them to break. The only geared people I managed to kill were the ones who I trailed and went afk in a bad spot. I encountered a group of 6 fully geared people, and hid in the tree line taking shots at them. I managed to connect 3 shots before they decided to get up and run to Berezino. I trailed them all the way to the factory, shooting and running along side them in the tree line. By the time we made it to the factory, I had connected 11 shots total on the group, and all of them were bleeding badly, at least 3 of them having completely ruined gear. I shot one guy a total of 4 times, yet he was still running, bleeding with all of his gear ruined. When they got to the factory, they sprinted towards the tree line. No longer having a clear line of sight, I had to retreat. While the Mosin is still a 1-shot to the head, this is ridiculous. Simple articles of cloth should not act like body armor. Hell, even Kevlar wouldn't be that effective. If you get hit with a 7.62X54 round anywhere in the body, besides your arms, you aren't going to be able to run. With 2 of those rounds hitting you, you aren't going anywhere. No mortal can take that many hits and still be alive, unless you are a Juggernaut from MW3. All of the people killed where completely healthy by the way. I didn't count those high geared players who died in 2 or 3 shots because it was clear that they were injured before. Anyone who appeared injured, I left alone.

    Permanent Character Journals

When the Devs added in note writing, we saw an influx of creativity among the player base. However, instead of one paged notes, players should be able to write journals of their adventures, eventually crafting a truly unique story. The only problem with this is that no writer is going to waste their time creating a story only for it to be lost forever in some seemingly stupid/insignificant way. The way to solve this is to have a journal that carries through with all of your characters. For example, if I am in the middle of writing a journal, and I die, my new character can pick up where the story started off without losing it. Your new character would still have to find/craft a new journal, but as soon as they opened the new one up, everything would be there. This would greatly encourage players to keep a journal of their encounters/adventures in Dayz, and just imagine walking up to a player you killed and suddenly discovering their entire story. I believe it could create a unique reaction in the killer, making killing a player who keeps a journal much more intimate. Finally, Journals should have the option of being carried on the hip where they don't take up too much space, or if not that, take up a 2x2 space. P.S. This is something that either includes character persistence, or doesn't exist at all. Nothing will happen if people lose their work upon character death. Making just one thing persistent across all characters wouldn't break any immersion at all, in fact quite the contrary. It would greatly add to the immersion of the game, making death more meaningful than it was originally.

The Winchester Model 70 discussion thread

If you've only fired one Mosin and you were using surplus ammo, then that would explain it. Any Mosin can be made accurate with a few tweaks. For 90% of them that means adjusting the sight and/or tightening the spring of the barrel bands. Mosins have been put up as one of the best survival guns for their reliability and commonality. Please don't down put my baby.

The Winchester Model 70 discussion thread

Again another comment from the peanut gallery. You literally have no clue about the Mosin other than what you have read on various rifle forums. As I have said before, I am a collector of the rifle and have fired many, many versions of them. I have only come across 9 or 10 rifles that are irrevocably inaccurate in the 100's that I have fired. It only costs around 20 dollars to have a Mosin accurised with a laser sight, and its accuracy can even mirror more modern rifles. You do not even need a laser to accurise it either, you can do it by hand if need be. The only reason people think the Mosin is a glorified musket is because the sights tend to get knocked off a bit since they have been sitting around for over half a century. Other than that, the Cosmoline has done a pretty damn good job of preserving the rifles, save for some pitting and surface rust that I have seen. Mosin accuracy is also heavily dependent on the barrel bands, which can make or break the rifle. When inspecting a Mosin, you always look at the barrel bands, and if they are tight then the Mosin will be accurate if it doesn't have any other irregular deformities. Other than that, barrel bands can very easily be replaced. Don't criticize what you don't know.

The Winchester Model 70 discussion thread

"low end inaccurate rifle." I thought you were one of those "Dayz realists?" The Mosin has been known throughout history as the cheapest accurate rifle you can get. The Mosin Nagant is accurate from above 500m to even 1,000m away. The only problem is that the iron sights are pretty lacking, and you will only be able to see an enemy effectively through them at about 200m. If you think the Mosin is a pos rifle, then you have no clue about the gun, and this is coming from a collector of them. I have bought PU Mosins and different variants of scoped ones also. All of them originated from world war 2, and when you put a proper scope on the Mosin, damn is that thing accurate. Vaselli Zeitsev didn't become one of the best snipers in WW2 with a pos rifle. Also, PU variants of the Mosin should exist in game, and the SKS should require a mount to have one.
  21. So having heard of a lot of problems concerning this particular bug, I decided to make a poll. This will allow us to gather how much of the population has been effected in a certain amount of time. Please remember, this is within the past 7 days.

Player Data on Leg Break Glitch in Buildings.

When collecting data you have to have a frame of reference. In this case 7 days is the frame of reference.

    Speculation about "coming" loot system(s)?

Yes, because you can fit an entire rotor assembly in your back pack. No.... even if that did happen there's still the problem of server hopping. Why the hell would the developers encourage server hopping.... that is just retarded and will ruin the game.
  24. Insane Ruffles

    Speculation about "coming" loot system(s)?

So there is supposed to be loot spawning across all the servers, with all Public servers acting as one big loot table together.... so what happens when your helicopter or other vehicle needs a part.... but that part isn't even on that server and wont spawn there for a very long time? You're screwed, unless you can bring your vehicles with you when you switch servers, which would be pretty cool. I honestly think this new loot table idea is extremely stupid, no offense to the author of it. I can already foresee servers lying about their loot, and server hoppers amassing even more than before. "Let's hop servers in this one military place because one of the servers will have something good that no others will." It will become a nightmare. Want to have a chance at finding a rare weapon? Too bad! The people who have it are untraceable and may even go offline for extended periods of time.
