Caravan Raid PVP Even Today! 3p EST/8p GMT (Burnaya River Trading Co)
Insane Ruffles replied to albinoclock's topic in General Discussion
Hey, how strictly enforced are your age restrictions? I'm the leader of a clan called No Mercy Killers (NMK), and we have our own (very popular) A3 Wasteland server. We are a fairly new clan (the server has been running for a long time, though) and we are looking for ways to train our Spc's. We would be honored if you would let 1 or 2 of our Spc's train and act as guards for you every once and a while. -
"Paintball/Airsoft" tournaments in DayZ
Insane Ruffles replied to David375's topic in General Discussion
Private hive is a must. Going public only means that some fully kitted douche who gets wind of this could come and ruin everyone's day. 90% of people on public don't really have a place to store gear either. I want to join this, it sounds fun. I also suggest announcing the server 30-40 minutes before the event, as to prevent any would be party crashers. I also suggest a security detail of 4 geared people, just in case. -
Suppressor for the Mosin and Other High-Caliber Rifles?
Insane Ruffles replied to Bush_Wookieing_101's topic in General Discussion
It's impossible, sorry. The Mosin is not fitted to take one, nor would it ever be practical to have one. Such a suppressor would have to be so big, it would be stupid. -
Psh, you obviously aren't playing the game right if you haven't gotten killed by a Zombie in one hit as a freshspawn. #OP Life.

Why snipers aren't going away
Insane Ruffles replied to Samuri_Bake_Pie's topic in General Discussion
Snipers will always be dangerous, and will always be the reason why its not a good Idea to be wide out in the open on a full pop server. People say hordes will change that, but they won't. Zombies wont be the super Zombies that they are now, running faster than you an automatically finding you wherever you go. All you would have to do is fire a shot and immediately relocate. Its not like you're firing while in the middle of a horde. -
No, Im not talking about Epoch, Im talking about a chance to trade, maybe AI only sell food and small arms, maybe nothing at all.
-
Simple solution: Walls. Or bases in Castles, the gaps patched. No one could snipe in then.

I could imagine AI Bandits/Heroes having camps, maybe 1 bandit/hero camp per server. It would be really cool if you could have some sort of dialogue with them and Heroes offering help. I saw a script in Arma 2 that had this kind of working, geared Hero AI wandering around, killing zombies and dropping food when a player is near. Add immersive dialogue and you got something pretty cool. This would also be really awesome if Hero AI had camps that could focus as safe trading posts. Also gives something for big clans to prepare for, because such camps should be very heavily armed with only dedicated attacks having a chance at taking them. Otherwise, people could approach with their gunholstered and have a chance to trade with other players, maybe even AI. It makes sense to have communities like that pop up in the apocalypse, and unfortunately players will never make something like that because it would require guarding 24/7 with a sizeable force.

Mosin damage nerfed to oblivion
Insane Ruffles replied to Heatofbattle's topic in General Discussion
Damage is very inconsistent. The more clothes the victim is wearing, the more inconsistent it gets. A 7.62X54r isnt an inconsistent round as the smaller 5.56 rounds are. 7.62x54r will kill you 95% of the time when hit center mass, although sometimes not right away. It is a very powerful round that shatters concrete blocks on impact, so it should always be atleast a KO when hit in the torso. -
Citing in game strengths and weaknesses is not being a wannabe, it is knowledge. Sounds like youre being all pissy because people know more than you. Honestly, that stuff is common knowledge. Knowing it doesnt make you a wannabe.

How many times have you been killed by a server hopper?
Insane Ruffles posted a topic in General Discussion
The title says it all: How many times have you been killed by a hopper while looting? I say this because it has happened to me twice in the last few days... I use one server for looting because the clan there is friendly and server hoppers arent abundant. I got on with my fully decked out character, full MP5 attachments with supressor, AKM with PSO-1, and a high capacity vest with enough rounds to take on the entire Chernorussian army. I decided to swim to the prison and loot because I wanted to find a drum mag for my AKM. I loot through most of the place and get to the Warden's office building by "the long barracks." I search upstairs and walk downstairs after Im done, and then hear footsteps seemingly come from outside. Startled, I equip my AKM and head upstairs to the room I just cleared. Hello Mr. Serverhopper. Hello death. He mowed me down with his AK74, emptying his whole clip into me and no doubt destroying every piece of gear on me. What really pisses me off is that I was just in that room and had already cleared it. This completely ruins immersion as now we have to worry about people that arent there. What steps do you think should be taken to stop this? I think people should randomly spawn in the area they were in. Either that, or players spawning in can't damage or be damaged for 40 seconds when spawned. They also shouldn't be able to loot for that time period. -
How many times have you been killed by a server hopper?
Insane Ruffles replied to Insane Ruffles's topic in General Discussion
No, reread the thread and see who started throwing insults. I stayed civilized until it became too much. Server hopping, defined, by the majority of players, is jumping multiple servers in a short amount of time to loot. -

Im not even going to argue about server hopping because its obvious you dont understand what it means. Read the thread again. Who started throwing insults first? Feel like a hypocrite yet? -
How many times have you been killed by a server hopper?
Insane Ruffles replied to Insane Ruffles's topic in General Discussion
I created the topic expecting people to act civilized and talk about if it breaks immersion or not, and ideas of how it can be combatted. Of course its gonna be taken care of, but how? This does not warrant the hate that these people are giving. God forbid someone has an opinion they want to share on a forums for sharing opinions... -
How many times have you been killed by a server hopper?
Insane Ruffles replied to Insane Ruffles's topic in General Discussion
Actually, the majority of posts on this thread have been insults and stupidly calling me a server hopper when their minds have no sense of the word. Using 1 server to start a character is not server hopping, get that through your brains. It may be exploitation to some, but if you call it server hopping, then respectfully, you have no clue what you are talking about. Because by that definition, ANY use of the public hive is server hopping.PS, only 1 edit changed the words, and that was the low pop server because apparently everyone jumps to conclusions when you mention low-pop servers. The only thing this thread proves is how horrible and just plain mean some of the members on these forums are. I was immediately attacked on posting this, and still am being attacked. These people (should I say kiddies?) apparently have low enough self esteem to insult rather than provide conjecture. It only shows complete immaturity on their part, and now I understand why everyone says the DayZ community is so bad. -

How many times have you been killed by a server hopper?

*Sigh* I stated that low pop was a factor when initially joining the server. I stayed on it for different reasons. If you would have read the thread instead of pulling things out of context, you would know that. -

How many times have you been killed by a server hopper?
Insane Ruffles replied to Insane Ruffles's topic in General Discussion
Why not go on a high pop and gear up and then PvP? Oh wait... You can't, because the gear is gone. If you payed any attention to my posts you would know that. If you looked at my post that said I use 1 server regardless of the population, you would know that. When I picked that server, I picked low pop. Now I dont care what the pop is, I always loot on there. -
How many times have you been killed by a server hopper?
Insane Ruffles replied to Insane Ruffles's topic in General Discussion
Yes, maybe they should and find out who the real a**holes are. God forbid someone uses 1 server for loot, right? Apparently that's the same as hopping tons of servers and scooping up good loot before those who play the game fairly can get to it.You dont go onto a full server to loot, because EVERYTHING is gone. Ive tried, and between dieing of hunger and being KOS'd every 10 minutes, it becomes machosistic and counter productive. Even the Inland has very low loot. The ONLY way to get military loot other than from killing players is from lower pop servers. -
How many times have you been killed by a server hopper?
Insane Ruffles replied to Insane Ruffles's topic in General Discussion
Yet another post completely and absolutely missing the point. I can't make the post any more simple to make up for your narrowmindedness. People appearing out of nowhere and killing you in a room you checked is immersion breaking. It isnt about using a loot server. You obviously have no clue what the differences are. If any use of the Public hive is going to be frowned apon by ignorant people, then why use it. -

Insane Ruffles replied to Insane Ruffles's topic in General Discussion
This only proves how terrible some of the people on these forums are. Get off your high-horses and enough with the BS elitist attitude. I made this topic so that people could discuss the immersion breaking server hoppers, not so people like you could jack themselves off while insulting people over the internet, got to reddit or youtube if you want to do that.
