I can't stop killing fresh spawns.

You all act like survival is some kind of accomplishment in this game.......... Its utterly LAUGHABLE, the learning curve on this game is one of the narrowest around. So what do you carebears do, go around until your bags are full of food, sit in a house, and go "man lookit me, I am SURVIVING!" Your hoping for a survival game. What your gonna get is Berenzino deathmatch. I feel sorry for you if you think otherwise. "But but but the developers have said". Developers say a lot of things, and rarely do they ever live up to them. Show me a engine that can spawn more then 4k things without shitting out, show me you can RANDOMIZE re spawning items, and you might make a believer outta me. In the interim, I paid 30 bucks to play a people hunting game, and that's exactly what I am gonna do. That's what this game is currently optimized to do, if you haven't noticed. -

I love all the crybabies i this thread. They don't seem to realize: A. They are powerless to stop it. B. Their anguish is like wine. Any bambi beyond 200 meters is fair target practice to me. Anything closer I let the m4 squad play with them. If you come within 50 meters we leg ya and let ya roll around. -
Yah not as sharp as it once was, I figured it was due to the overall graphics change, but not being able to spot your shots at long range really is annoying. Before I could have my spotter call out if I was high or low , left or right of my target.
-
My only gripe right now has to do with "missed shots" at past 200 meters are not registering like they were pre patch. In other words I could fire at a building at 500m and see where the shot landed to see if I was range correctly, now I cant see them hitting anything past 200 meters. This really sucks.

Then why don't you upstanding citizens organize and stop us evil doers? I hear far more "Hero Talk" on these boards then I ever see in game.

DayZ - Just a Game? Or also a pretty cool Social Experiment?
gwartham replied to TheDoctorInDayz's topic in General Discussion
Yes I take the gameplay seriously, the tactics, the risk, that's what makes this game addicting to me, I just dont take the "social elements" of this game seriously. Its like the difference between COD and Tom Clancy game. -
Yah but knowledge is power. Once you know where things are in this game, including military bases, then why would you not go and loot them? Some people like leveling, others enjoy the endgame.

So, you can copy paste from Wiki....grats. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firearm_malfunction

If you have a enough firepower, which isn't hard to get in this game, zombies don't stop you from doing squat. Hell even doing nothing will have zombies comming at you from clip plane anyway.

He apparently doesn't know shit about Ar's firing 5.56 rounds from this last patch lol

DayZ - Just a Game? Or also a pretty cool Social Experiment?

Blah, even if I didn't have better gear then the other guy, for some reason when my mosin takes off their heads it seems to also apparently ruin just about every damn thing they are carrying. -
DayZ - Just a Game? Or also a pretty cool Social Experiment?
gwartham replied to TheDoctorInDayz's topic in General Discussion
The only "social experiment" is this: There are some people who take this game too seriously, and then there are those that don't. Some want this game to be some kind of fairy lovefest set in a post apocalyptic backdrop. Me, on the other hand, enjoy the thrill of the hunt, or causing such a ruckus with my mates that we get assaulted by some large opposing force, and that thrill is based on if I screw up, there will be a penalty for my mistakes, and that there will be penalties for my enemies if they screw up. That being said I find bambi's at range to be good target practice, helps me hone my shooting skills, so when the real threat presents itself my game is as spot on as it can be. Alls fair, if I am a bambi, and someone starts pot shotting me, I don't cry about it, I certainly don't go and try and shit talk them. But that rarely happens because i'm not a idiot and don't go running down the main roads like a nit. 90% of the people here are but mere sheep for the wolves. If you create a game that allows for wolves, then the wolves will surely come to feast. -
I think the bigger issue is SOME people are asking waaaay too much for a game that is being built, in all due respect, ass backwards. You all want some massive in depth MMO type game, but its being built on a glorified FPS platform. There is only so much that they will be able to eek out of this game due to its natural limitations. Everyone wants these hordes of zombies, deer and wabbits to hunt, all that MMO junk, and then on top of that you also want completely realistic gunplay mechanics. I remember reading somewhere where the dev was talking about having a limit of things that can be spawned in game, and it seemed very much like it was 1 to 1 ratio, in other words spawn a zombie or spawn a gun, or a can of food, and such, and the limit was something along 4000, hence why there are so few zombies in the game. They have to choose give players enough crap to survive, or give you zombies to fight, and while the ratio may go up, with all the other crap they plan "wish" to add to this game, its still gonna end up more gear then zombies. My feelings are those pug type MMO players will end up going to H1Z1 the minute it comes out, and the rest of us who want risk vs reward gunplay will be playing this. And from what I have seen in my 200 hours of playing this game is, there are way more of us then there are of the MMO type players. You might not like it but its a fact, and it will only get worse from here.

Reminds me of a old 70's trail breaker I salvaged from a Forest Service boneyard years ago.

A. Read OP's primary point one more time, he is basing failure on rapid firing. If you wanna argue the mosin that sounds like another thread. B. I see they used Silver Bear/Gold Bear bi metal for their 39 ammo, boxes I appear to be picking up appear to be XM rounds for 5.56. I have literally tons of this stuff, from all makes and manufacturers that have sat in a old leaky shed here in Oregon for 15 years, a quick wipe down with a oily cloth and away I go. C. I keep forgetting, how long after armageddon is this game supposed to be taking place, cause I keep finding fresh fruit and veggies! D. Yes shit happens, FtF's, bunk ammo, but seriously, its rare enough in reality, last time I checked this be a video game....pew pew!
-
And last time I checked, you aren't gonna rapid fire 200-300 rounds thru a mosin either.
-
Thank god for them chrome lined barrels and those ammo cans huh! Hey good news is H1Z1 will apparently have very limited guns, so you guys can play stoned age all ya like!
-
How about we um just fix the 60 round mag? And if your gun malfunctions after 200-300 rounds, ima gonna guess your military experience included ww2, or you buy some really crappy ar-15's and shoot wolf ammo.
-
Yah um... No offense guys, but running a message board without spam controls is kinda.....archaic?
-
Yah because that doesn't get boring after the second or 3rd time. Lets face it, once one has a gun and ammo, the threat factor of this game from PvE becomes pretty damn nil. People act like there's so much to do in this game and it has some kind of serious learning curve, there isnt.

Don't worry Hero, it isn't any better for us bandits. Our goal was to actively recruit from players we meet/bandit in game, especially bambi's. Figured we would kidnap em, talk to em, see how they react, and if they seem cool or new we would let them hang out with us and possibly join. Found it to be pointless tho, you hold someone up and they wont obey commands or just ignore you or tell you to "fuck off", or start shooting, even if its 6 to 1, or just smack talking brats. Long story short, the only people you can trust, and the only people you can enjoy playing with are your mates. Everyone else is just a food dispenser or target practice.

One gunfight and your looking for more clothes sad to say.

You sir, do not know what your talking about. The whole point of the 5.56 round is its tumble and fragmentation, hence why it is a "center mass" round. The odds of the round not hitting something on its path inducing tumble and fragmentation is pretty slim. While the round does not transfer kinetic energy into a "knockout" hit, the damage the round does is rather impressive. Most people aren't gonna sprint away with a round or 2 in their chest, and it sure as hell aint gonna take a dozen of em to do their job. What is the biggest bane of the 5.56 round? EXTERNAL CLOTHING. The round hitting anything "solid" will immediately cause the round to fragment most of the time, thus saving the victim from the grievous cavitation wound. Next time your at a range put a sheet of hard plastic in front of your target and then something behind it to catch the splinters, you will see what I mean. So I guess this could explain taking more hits in this game as most of us has several layers of crap on our chest area. As for accuracy of guns in this game? Its laughable. Forget the Mosin at 600m has a 3 to 4 second travel time in this game *laugh* . Its a hundred dollar gun in most states, and I have literally taken ww2 cosmoline sealed mosins, washed em down, still ratty as hell using old surplus ammo and still popped 2 liter bottles at 200m. Even the cheapest AR I have owned, like a S&W M&P or a DPMS Sportacle, if I cant get a 1inch grouping immediately with the thing at 100m it goes back. The whole point of mass production firearms is to remove the "deviation" of a hand built gun. It doesn't take some hard core ex millitary sf guy to center mass some nit with a ar, why the hell do you think we give them to our millitary in the first place?

I am friendly. Friendly to my group. My group is large enough to fend for ourselves. You are not part of my group. We do not need anymore members. If we do need more people we recruit them from players in the game. Your carrying something we can use, so we take it, because we can, and if your armed your possibly a threat to people in my group, not gonna take any chances. If you wanna play solo, thats your call, but dont bitch because people are unfriendly, we just arent friendly to you. If you dont think for a moment that this wouldnt play out in a "real zombie apocolypse", then you dont understand the human nature much. Besides, Romero covered it pretty well in Dawn of the Dead. TLDR: This isnt a solo game, time to get some friends.
