hidden Fake death animation?

Illogical based on what grounds? -
If that's your prerogative, then that's the way it will be, I've got a bullet to spare if your feeling brave! I've got no reservations about killing a fool who has nothing to lose. Gotta have fun someway. Besides doesn't everybody whine and complain about this game becoming more realistic? Yeah it's not real life, but a guy can dream.

Maybe for testers with 300+ logged hours, we could get a likeness of our real selves in game? Towards the end or after the dev process?
-
I point my gun and tell people to stop, if the do and cooperate I normally give them something useful. If the refuse to cooperate I WILL kill them, even a Bambi. Because your supposed to listen to the guy who has you on the business end of a firearm. Someone robs your local bank, points his gun at you and screams 'get on the ground!' Do you run?

Well now that i'm at my computer I can reply properly. Well it is your opinion that my suggestion 'adds nothing to the game, seems impractical, and probably more work than its worth' i already said it would add some degree of immersion FOR ME, is totally practical based on labor and cost IF my estimations are right, and it would likely cause no more trouble to them AFTER release than padding their pockets which I stated earlier also. Secondly I'm not sure why i would even have to say this again, but I'm also very happy with the time I've spent playing and reporting bugs out of, as you say, 'Goodwill' (actually just participating in the open alpha instead of just playing it for shits and giggles) but that's not the point here. Im not here with my hand out saying 'well we deserve a reward don't we?', I'm simply suggesting that IF the devs FELT we DESERVED a reward, it would be neat if they put our faces on our toons (repeating myself again). Your not sure of how helpful we are but take it from a person who has spent an enormous amount of time as a project manager in software development, we are a HUGE help(although i don't work in game development, i know that the more testers = more bugs found = more refined product). And that's not even mentioning the millions of dollars consumers spent to help fund a game we believe in, as people cant help but state 'it will be worth twice that' your right, it will, thanks to the people who had enough faith in the game to pay half price for a game that wasn't worth a quarter of the final price at its alpha release. This game is epic, and i love the genre. I will likely never stop playing it. I'm not being entitled, I'm just suggesting something i think would be pretty cool. Being that I've explained this earlier in the thread I basically read your reply as 'NO BECAUSE YOUR WRONG' but were all entitled to our own opinions here, 'tis a forum after all. Yeah vanity items like that would be pretty cool aswell. ....spawning in looking like James Bond would be 10000x Cooler!

Your not making the community any better with that attitude... Yeah man I've died a few times to the dreaded ladder desync, many tears have been shed trying to get a better view.

So your answer is basically 'no'? Thanks!

Did... Did you two even read anything I said?....

Well considering the numbers, and once again I'm only speculating here, but lets say the budget for this game is 60 million dollars for develoment and advertising. And this IMO is a generous figure for a PC game building on an existing engine. If that were the case, the dev team has likely hit close to what they need to create the game, because they can only add so much, throwing money at something can only expand it a set amount. So if you extract the royalties they likely have to pay to the companies that originally funded them, if this game sells even 1 million more copies, and once again i think this is totally doable based on the growth of the game already, the dev team has roughly 30 million (- royalties) left to either add into advertising, subsidize into the team itself, or maybe reward the players. Yeah you could be right, but that's what i mean when i say i couldn't really know the capability until i saw under the hood of the game itself.

Perhaps you guys are misunderstanding what i meant here. I'm NOT saying that because we are experiencing BUGS and GLITCHES (which are commonplace in an aplha stage game) that we should be rewarded, BUT that because we are helping fund the development, are loyal players, and members of the community from the early stages of the game. I hope you all realize how invaluable we all are to the dev team, having such a massive amount of players testing this game, the active, constructive players who offer feedback, suggestions, and bug reports likely improve the development of the game tenfold. We have seen that that can have its setbacks, because an obvious expansion in the playerbase and budget requires dev teams to expand, new companies brought in, and everybody be oriented to what the aim of the product is. I paid my 30$ and frankly I'm convinced it was a good investment, into a great game, that should in the end be worth potentially twice that amount. So to restate my point, i think it would be nifty to have our own likenesses in the game, it would increase immersion, and in my opinion would enhance gameplay. I also think it would be a cool idea if the dev team felt they wanted to reward its community members for their help, it would also be a nifty idea to create the likelyhood of the player into the game. Technically it could be done, I'm not exactly sure the scale of the task, but theoretically they could provide a sort of blueprint for what they need, and hire third party 3D modelling contractors through websites such as Odesk and handle the actual implementation themselves. These 3D modeling contractors are almost always skilled professionals, but because they are all over the world, they can cost a fraction of a local agent. Once again I couldn't say that indefinitely without actually seeing 'under the hood' of the game itself. But I do believe it could be done. Well I enjoy the input, and i would have to agree that would be a pretty cool addition, but its always difficult in those pesky systems to recreate myself accurately. I find anyways. Oh yeah... and

Don't get me wrong, I'm not implying it's owed too us or anything, but maybe just to people constantly reporting bugs, or people who have been actively involved in the betterment of the game? Just suggesting it because it would be cool as heck to have our own likenesses in game. Hell I would even pay to have it done lol

I understand where the analogy fits in, but In my opinion, you can't compare those 2 simple details in a way that makes sense without first including the amount of money it costs to make, etc etc, because in that respect I can literally compare any 2 things and pick and choose the areas I'm comparing to make sense of my point. And your right, but half the time the person has a legitimate problem with certain features, the outcome of development, or the lack of development in certain areas. And some still get flamed on for their opinions, even after they word it in a very reasonable way. Hell even I get frustrated testing MY OWN software and express my concern to my dev team. Lack of progress, progress to a place that isn't good, etc ARE valid concerns, and should be treated as such. When they aren't flaming of corse.

Implying a movie is in any way similar to software of any kind in comparison of value and profit, both in the cost of producing it, and creating a finished product... Maybe compare it to something else that makes more sense? I work in software dev. And when me and other devs and execs are alpha testing, negative opinions are far more important that positive ones when it comes to working out bugs and releasing a satisfactory product for our clients, and their customers, Who, more often than not, are paying a decent sum for the software we produce. But we don't develop games, and we NEVER release an alpha to be tested by the public, for numerous reasons, but I understand why a video game would.
-
Woah lol that's pretty crazy. I don't buy movies often enough apparently
-
Woah, 5 month old movies cost 30 dollars where your from? That's crazy. Secondly I agree with OP and I can clearly see his point. Wondering why even a mod can't help but give a hard time to somebody with a legitimate opinion... Makes me wonder how the game will ever progress with that attiude towards people who have negative opinions.

CR75 Worthless and Equip Weapons a Hindrance.
Tyrianrage replied to Insane Ruffles's topic in General Discussion
Seriously how can you say that's accurate in any way? 9, 9mm bullets in the chest and back may not KILL you if your incredibly LUCKY, but your not fighting back at all. Secondly 50 cent was shot in the teeth, legs, and hand. No bullets hit centre mass, and that's how he's still alive. -
"Alpha, things are changing so disregard any and all concerns of current issues regarding in game bugs. " But aren't we supposed to be part of the testing process? You may want to edit that. But yes, recreate the bug you experienced and report it promptly, IF you report it, it SHOULD be fixed... EVENTUALLY.

I've been having the same problem, it's related to Your GPU and the only way I've been able to fix it is by flushing your video memory. When your screen goes black, then back to desktop, hold left shift and the '-' key on the number pad at the same time, release them, and type, FLUSH, your screen should flash black and then the game will resume, the downside to this is all text in game will disappear until you restart the game, making it impossible to zero your weapon, or see the durability status on your items. Hope this helps, Rage.
