^ this guy gets it
-
It should be either dx9, c++ distribution package, or Microsoft .NET framework. If the exe isn't responding when you try to launch I would try and find a download for c++ and .NET framework first, and only try and install dx9 after that, if the first 2 don't work. These are typically the route cause of most exe related issues. Best of luck.

Well considering the fact that humans don't exactly fall onto my lap whenever I'm hungry, i also have had to resort to apple trees, and to go from orange hungry/thirsty to bright green hydrated/green energized it took me about 30 minutes. So my 'timeframe' actually isn't 'shit', it in fact is completely rational and honest, it just isn't exactly what you do... strange how that is eh? I do something you don't do exactly my way, so things are a bit different for me. What a strange and foreign concept. And when diseases get fully implemented I may have to change my playstyle, as i have more than a few times through development, because that, after all, is the nature of the beast. But we wont burn that human steak.. err.. bridge until its time to cross it. I am, so far, enjoying this patch, I too hope the game gets drastically harder. It may take some of the monotony of dayz and turn it into a fully engaging game, instead of doing it for fun, maybe ill do it because its all I know to do to survive. Before this patch once I was fully energized and hydrated i would stop picking any items up from the ground, instead the only way i would get food/ammo/bandages was to steal from other players, and eat them if all else fails. Because that's how i have fun in this game. Once again out comes that strange concept of people not doing things the way you'd prefer, because they like different things out of this openword sandbox survival game. -

Like I said, tasty. Seriously though I'll never play your boring way, you wanna sit at an apple tree for 30 minutes and pick apples? Be my guest, I'll just be lazy and eat your tasty hard work. I always try to interact in this game, I like stealing all peoples bandages, rags, food and anmo and make them have to survive after that, but every once and awhile I get a guy who won't stop whining after I capture him, or tries to run and when I break his legs he won't shut up. They ruin the expirience ;) for me anyways. -

I bet your extra tasty -
Last week I was patching up my fractured arm high in the forest between kamyshovo and elektro. I started to hear the song 'tiptoe through the tulips' (listen to that song it's creepy as fuck). I'm in the middle of trying to make a splint, so I'm looking all over the place to try and find the source. It's getting louder, it's getting closer... Imagine my surprise when I see a guy slowly walking down the hill towards me, tiptoeing through the forest towards me you may say. That was by far the creepiest thing I've ever expirenced. I was expecting him to be walking up the hill towards me, not from behind me. Ps. I ended up shooting him in the legs due to lack of trust.

Probably, when I notice a server getting laggy, I normally log out and find a new one lol. I got sick of changing pants on the regular... Or regearing all together -
Need laptop that can run dayz sa on max everything.

Yeah true I can't deny that. I was thinking he meant Alienware had poor preformance originally, hence my reply lol. I'm more of a build your own desktop guy myself. -

It's linked to server desync, I stopped getting this problem when I started joining servers with only 50-60 ping. Not 100% guaranteed, but it worked for me -
Why wouldn't you just ignore it instead of bumping the thread? LolOp everyone at the nwaf is an enemy, Hell anyone with a gun in their hand is my enemy
-
to whoever I killed at NWAF, thanks for the perfect m4

Oh jeez why don't you all stop complaining about this thread and just ignore it. It hasn't been locked or yarded, so I'm assuming it follows the rules. Good job on killing that guy, I would have too OP. 'Cringeworthy' lol, I look on the new content bar and I can literally see thread after thread that is somewhat useless. Just ignore it and let the moderators moderate -
10/10 would read again

If those guys were smart they would have tried to funnel you into an area they could kill you, instead of flailing around shooting lol

Does anyone else want to be captured/tortured?

Let me ask you something. Why do you play survival games? -
Well to be honest, all of the controls in dayz are pretty clunky and awkward to use IMO. And I'm sure they will work on that towards the tail end of the alpha phase after they implement key features and whatnot. Your right, I doubt they would completely remove that from the game, but that's not the discussion at hand. The point of this thread is to propose the idea of a crouch/stand toggle key, not the removal of existing methods of doing so. If anything, they will likely have both, and alot more options to choose from, so that individual players can have control schemes that are comfortable and easy to use for that player. Because that would be the intelligent, consumer friendly way of doing it.
-
Reaaaally didn't wanna jump in on this pissing contest, but for the record, since the devs plan to completely rework the control scheme/ interface(based on what ive read) and also basically plan on changing everything about the engine, I would say it's not only completely possible, and beyond that it would be a minimal amount of work considering crouching and standing are already in the game and all they would have to code would be some type of keybind option. but also I think it would be a good idea. Can't lie I've made the mistake of laying down because my pesky finger panicked and got myself killed. A toggle function would be awesome. Also just because a feature is in a game you don't like doesn't mean it should be left out. A good thing is a good thing regardless of where it comes from. We wouldn't have landed on the moon if the nazi's didn't invent the v2 rocket.

First off I would like to start by saying this isn't a bandit complain thread. Please don't insult any of the posters, and please refrain from psycho- analyzing people for their opinions; if your a psychiatrist you should be busy charging people 200$ an hour for your work. Not criticizing people on a public forum about their gameplay styles. I'm Not justifying being the bad guy, I'm purely interested to see what others experiences have been. Now that that's out of the way, lets address the topic at hand. In dayz, if your a bandit, how do you go about your daily activities? (I want to go on record saying that kos'ing unarmed players, without any good reason, especially from a distance is not my opinion of a bandit.) People who have been victimized, how was your experience? Funny? crappy? How, if at all, did the experience entertain you? I've played nearly all playstyles since I've started playing; hero, survivor, loner, psychopath, stalker. All of them in my opinion were a lot of fun in their own way, but what stuck with me the most was being a bandit. Something about capturing and robbing other players of supplies/information has been the most fun role playing I've had in dayz so far. I never carry food or water so i have a reason to capture people, something to gain from it. If the player is cooperative and roleplays with me, i always release them. And the fights that happen after a group of armed players try and save the victim, well they are the best part, but that's not what I want to talk about in this thread. So ill tell you a few quick stories representing the types of players I come across. And explain why some attitudes are counterintuitive to the game. Player A. I ran into player a a few days ago, he was walking up the stairs into a pub in svet, in which I was waiting at the top floor. As he comes up I pop out from the corner and point my weapon. 'Freeze, put your hands up'... He starts walking down the stairs. So I say again 'stop! If you run I will shoot' he doesn't reply and try's to run. Player A is dead. Why shoot him? He wasn't armed, but he was dangerous. He now knows where I am, what I'm equipped with, and showed that he doesn't care if he lives or dies. That's dangerous for me. So he had to go. This just isn't fun. Would you run from the guy who tells you to stop when he has the business end of a firearm pointed at you in real life? Player B. It was on the same day a little after player A had died and the server restarted. My jacket was ruined by a wall wackiness zombie and I was in need of a new raincoat, and some food. I saw a guy walking down the street, totally naked but with a Prestine green raincoat. So I run up to him and say 'hey man, *wave* *point weapon*'. He replies, 'oh shit, umm' I then tell him were gonna switch jackets, and if he agrees he won't die. So long story short, and after a bit of talking, he relinquished his coat and said he was leaving to find a gun. I told him to follow me. I then led him to a fully geared player I had killed a few minutes ago and told him to go nuts. He was confused and asked why? I told him it was for being a good sport about the coat. He was anxious and didn't want to die, he complied the best he could, which in the end got him his life, and full gear. Player C, he's my favourite. This is by far my favourite experience in dayz so far. We captured a Bambi and he was role playing. I mean reeeeaaally role playing. He said his wife and child had died to a group of bandits. And that he wanted revenge. During this encounter I made a friend. We ended up grouping with him and hunting down the bandits that 'killed his wife and child' and gearing him up. We still play together. I love these guys so much because they make bandit role playing fun. This is the kind of person i am when I get captured. So I'm excited to hear what your experiences are as a bandit, or victim. What you like/don't like. If you don't care please don't post. Thanks for reading.

Lol true, a valid point. Cynicism and the zombie apocalypse do go hand in hand in some cases Well that's good, at least you play along. The worst is people who just cross their virtual arms and go 'nuh uh' when they get stuck up. Yeah I used to play the stalker role, I don't normally bandit with people near military locations though, if I'm near a place where everyone I'm seeing has the same gear I do, I play the stalker, try and kill them In a place I can loot them more easily. Yeah I've been killed a few times doing it, that's why I never corner myself, and I always have a few eyes in the sky. Hard to kill a guy who is prepared. Lol I reserve that punishment for the guys who hate bandits so much they refuse to play along at all. So I handcuff them, break their legs, and burlap sack them, then leave them to crawl around blindly for what I'm sure must seem like an eternity. That'll teach em. Person c is a champ lol.

What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
Tyrianrage replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
I think it is an exploit that you need to use after you die. The trend I've seen repeatedly is after the supposed hacker dies, people are spawned into vybor. I'm positive it has something to do with your Internet connection the moment you hit respawn, I think it somehow disrupts communication with the central hive and client, causing a sort of 'server side panic' -

2 nights in a row that I was teleported. The butthurt is real. I have never been as close as I was last night to uninstalling. I'm gonna be playing some Starcraft for the time being until this hack is hopefully addressed with 0.49 being pushed to stable (hopefully). -
