    Torchia's Improved M1911 Textures

Tactical turtle works tho so thats what I stick with until someone comes up with something better. If I'm ever in a butt puckery situation I'll go with what works best over what looks good or feels comfortable. Although I shoot horribly in whatever stance so its probably irrelevant ; D

    Torchia's Improved M1911 Textures

I've never "animated" anything in a video game so I used the best terms I could think of. My lack of knowledge in that department is probably equal too their lack of firearms knowledge :D P.S. That article is incorrect and a perfect example of how the internets just gets it wrong most of the time.

The new weapon sway and the M4A1

That video is not a good indicator of full auto recoil. He's using a slidefire stock.

    Torchia's Improved M1911 Textures

I wonder if they could get someone who actually knows how to fire a handgun to re model that grip...I think a weaver grip is weaksauce but I'll take that over that cup and saucer crap.

    Thread in defense of banditry

My post apoc simulated character is occasionally driven over the brink and just murders everyone he see's. How's that work for you?
  6. My understanding of the game engine is limited so if this is possible that would be outstanding. Also the current weapon speed is maybe too slow? I can't shift in an 180 degree arc supafast but I can snap between targets within a certain arc very fast. I wonder if they could slap that into the game somehow. Maybe I should shoot some video on how fast a fat computer nerd can run a 1-5 drill ;D

    Lethal Creatures

I don't know statistics for "Chernarus" but the animal that kills the most humans in the U.S. (not counting vehicular accidents) is .........deer. Yeah so deer and non-lethal are not a particularly good combo. Wild animals are wild and herbivore does not equal non lethal.
  8. I'm not a fan of dispersion myself but honestly how do you simulate the inherent inaccuracy of a human being. In the game if we didn't have dispersion you put the dot on the target and that's where it hits. In real life getting that dot steady on a target is a lot harder. I'm an above average shooter but you put me on a clock doing a mod navy qual and suddenly an 8 inch target at 50 meters is a mfer to hit.
  9. The double mags are not correct. Left mag should be higher than right The M4 is animated wrong win it's in the first person perspective. Generally you shouldn't ever be able to see the charging handle and definitely not the stock. Also if your using a RDS correctly most of the optic should not be visible if your shooting with both eyes open. Not sure if you can fix all that. Viewable distance of muzzle flash is way too high during the day. Having ground signature when prone would be awesome instead. I prefer an isosceles stance while shooting pistols and rifles but that could just be the civilian element in the game.

    Mosin and PSO Scope

I...uhhh...wtf? That thing is making my brain let out little sharts of derp.

    More features = Less KoS?

I'll admit to getting into firefights because I'm bored. I'm not sure more stuff will help but something to do that involves interacting with other players other than to shoot them in the face might help for me personally anyway.
  12. 1. Your character grabs the handgun in a cup and saucer grip. (better animation?) 2. The double 30 rd mag acts like a 60 rd mag. (just make it a surefire 60) 3. The whole mosin scope mount thing. (I honestly think that's just in there for testing and balance until they can get better models. Just add a long eye relief scope and an actual mosin mount) I'm sure there's more but I can't get my brain into gear right now.

    As-50_Thermal and MP5K [ Standalone ]

Yeah I wouldn't mind a balance between realism and gameplay funism...(that's a real word... I swear) I always lean towards realism but I understand certain things would just add suck for no reason or be extremely hard to code. Would it be awesome to have spindrift, multiple wind directions, coriolis, and relative humidity have effects on precision shooting. Hell yeah. Are we there with tech to make this happen?...probably not.
  14. eskamick

So the MP5K is in the files, so...

I hope that if you try to fire this thing without a stock you can't hit crap....because you couldn't hit crap in real life. Stockless smg's and shotguns are hollywood.

Wouldn't it just be an overlay? I have no idea but it would be awesome if it could be done.

Actually how about sound? How the hell can i still here someone creeping up some steps right after I touch off a 5.56 indoors without hearing pro? Adding that factor in would make cans useful and more realistic. Also suppressors virtually eliminate flash so that should be a factor too.

    As-50_Thermal and MP5K [ Standalone ]

Thermals are a whole different bag o rice. While target identification with a thermal scope provides a distinct advantage I haven't seen a thermal scope that provide's good accuracy at more than 800 meters contrary to manufacturer's claims. Having a ffp mildot scope and a good dope with your rifle should heavily outweigh any fancy tech you throw on top. Or a horus reticle. That would make my junk move if they put it in the game.
  18. Stopping power...crap I hate that phrase. The wounding mechanics of an arrow or bolt is based on bleeding. Deer usually don't just drop with a solid hit with an arrow or bolt. They do however die within a few minutes(depending on shot placement of course) You are more likely to get an immediate stop<---- with a rifle. Also a rifle will cause a larger wound channel than an arrow due to velocity.
  19. I think there are obviously better precision rifles out there the savage was just one of the cheapest. I think the 10fp is around $600 and still can pull under a minute groups.

A little more research on the actual accuracy of the AS50 might calm people down. It's considered a 1.5 minute rifle. In terms of precision that's pretty good but not great. If the draw distance was over 1600m then there might be a difference in tagging someone with a 7.62 round at 2000m vs a .50bmg rnd. Most of your better precision rifle's shoot under a minute.
  21. 7.62x39 and 7.62x51 have a harder time defeating body armor than 5.56....depending on the type of armor your talking about. Kevlar can't stop most rifle rounds. Ceramic armor is defeated by multiple hits regardless of caliber. Steel plates are more likely to stop 7.62 than 5.56. 5.56 is most effective out of a 16" barrel at about 150 m with 55gr m193,100 m with m855. This is due to explosive fragmentation causing an immediate stop. Different bullets have different ranges that they fragment at but at any range a 5.56 will still punch a hole in you and possibly cause a stop due to a CNS hit or shock. 7.62 caliber rounds or heavier have a different wounding mechanic combining velocity with mass and creating large permanent crush cavities which ... well suck to have inside of you :D Ballistics is a wonky science but it seems to work. Also keep in mind that if the devs decided to push for a bit more realism in long distance engagements a 15,000 dollar AS50 that shoots 1.5 m.o.a. should be feared less than an 600 savage model 10 that shoots under 1 m.o.a.
  22. I have no idea how I was supposed to read sarcasm in that. That stuff really irks me so maybe your right and I'm a little bit of a sensitive nancy about it. Also reading these uninformed posts about ballistics and traumatic wound theory just threw me off a bit too.
  23. Dont' claim to be a Navy SEAL. If you were on the teams you wouldn't claim it here. Thats really disrespectful to the guys out there in harms way.

Stand alone attachment system = COD

Honestly I'd just like to see the devs hire or consult with someone who actually knows something about firearms. Mosin ammo wrong, Misplaced scope on the mosin. CQB stock? helping being more maneuverable? Cup and saucer grip with pistols? this is basic stuff that should have been handled early on. I'm a gun guy so it probably bothers me more than most.

Stand alone attachment system = COD

Free floating a barrel increases accuracy by removing outside influence that comes from the handguard making contact with anything. Any non free float handguard will not help with accuracy except in a psychological manner "This is more comfortable for me." The same goes with most stocks excepting stocks that allow for adjustments in cheek height(Most ar stocks are LOP adjustable) The mechanical accuracy of an AR style rifle is not controlled by accessories. The "comfort" factor does help but that is user specific. I prefer a Magpul CTR on my carbines but my brother prefers a standard M4 stock. On a DMR style build we both preferred the PRS stock with varied adjustments. However when designing a game some exceptions probably need to be made. My preference for most attachments would be that they are the same as clothing with only very minor differences.
