Very glad they're adding more civilian firearms, and the gun looks good. I just hope this performs like an actual hunting rifle instead of a sniper rifle.

Taco Bell huh? Isn't their food what started the zombie outbreak? :D I would like to make a suburb area, with a town center. Where a shopping center could have a variety of stores to loot, and also be ambushed in. Like many suburb areas I would want it to be surrounded by wilderness, maybe a national forest, with plenty of hiking trails, camp sites, and of course game trails. Though I have a feeling all of the houses in the neighborhoods would destroy the fps.

A few hours ago I had one of these, I had just met a guy, and we found someones body on the ground. It went like this "hey man he had a crossbow but no ammo" *dead*

Birds like doves, quail, and pigeons would be a good start. Since they don't provide lots of meat, but could still give you enough to survive on. Also would give shotguns some more purpose.

Unless they add birdshot (which making a cut shell out off would be expectable) and a wax shell recipe, I don't see this happening. I personally would rather use birdshot as it is than try and cut it open and shove nails in there.

Were you playing on an almost empty server? I've made that mistake before, most people have. It may have helped if you would have explored the coastal towns a little more instead of going straight up north, you almost always find people down south. I feel the current number of guns in okay, especially for alpha, and they are adding more. And base building is coming eventually.

When I read 'minigames', I got scared, but what you suggested seems like it would help immersion. Making two people play a life or death game of chess would be awesome.

It really depends on the gun, I've shot plenty of guns. Even once without ear protection for a good 20 minutes, but those were 22lr and 38 special shells, and didn't effect my hearing at all. With higher calibers my ears rang for a good 2 hours, I could still hear and see fine though. But indoors with a round such as a 357 magnum, making you temporarily deaf and affecting vision slightly would be fine with me. I don't think making a player go deaf until their character dies would be a good idea though, it would be worse than having the dark grey vision you have when your blood is low. Shooting guns without ear protection won't affect your sight unless in tight quarters.

Well most of the community aren't focused on gunplay, but a better variety of guns, which would help immersion, but that's a different conversation. As long as they have different teams working on different parts of the game, I see no problem with one team working on designing new clothing, as long as another team are fixing people hiding in walls. As DropBearChick said, it's alpha and nothing is final, and we are participating in the development and giving feedback/suggestions.

I am... All of Me from the Shadow the Hedgehog game reminds me of some of those Dayz encounters. Especially when the lyrics say "Black hearted evil, or brave hearted hero" and "do you remember me? capture you or set you free". Since Those are some of the choices you make when playing Dayz. Also The Last of Us soundtrack like MeatieB said.

Some of the police stations have broken down police cars outside them that are lootable. I've found magazines in those sometimes.

Since people have seemed to want this for a while I'm sure it will be implemented soon. Same for making gags and such. I've always wanted to do this since my friend went afk one day and I tired to do this.

Those where to the good old days. Now even without guns they'll sucker punch you in the back of the head and take your gun away.

I would guess either the battery or the flashlight (are both) are ruined. I find ruined attachments quite often. Maybe it's server side, since sometimes when a server is having trouble no one can open food or doors.

You know you play Dayz Standalone to much when you go hunting and get exited there are actually animals there!

Tactical leg holsters could be good for military spawns, since they would have enough space for a handgun and extra magazine. We definitely need more holsters, even standard belt holsters would be good enough for me.

Unless I have more than one m4 magazine, I prefer the sks. It's what I'm used to using in the game the most. I like the magnum, since I've had one for a while now. But the amphibian s is great for killing zombies if you have to shoot them. The only gun I haven't used yet is the blaze, I would love to get my hands on one. So my preferred setup is: sks axe (of any kind) amphibian s

I like this, it would add reason for players to take shelter in houses. And like someone else said, if we could light the fireplaces, it would give another reason.

Seems like a good, and original idea. I would like to see it implemented.

On the main menu click your name in the bottom right of the screen. Then change it to what you want.

It makes sense that you could equip the can into your hands, and just punch it against a wall/tree. Granted you would lose a large amount of the contents, but it seems like an okay idea. It could even use the same animation as punching.

I think both would be good as well, for the M4 we already have multiple parts, I don't see why it couldn't be the same for the Remington. (thx to the one, who showed this picture ;) ) I completely agree on that. Realistically it would make sense. I would personally only saw of the barrel, since it could still fit into a backpack, and I could actually aim. Or we could do it Kyle Reese style and only saw off the stock and attach a rope to it (kidding).

I'm just glad it's being held properly, in lots of other games it's held like a pistol.
