  1. Actually sounds like a brilliant idea, reminds me of the minigames in RDR.
  2. Actually I checked and it was 2083 words. 2083 words of silliness.
  3. I'd think that they should be able to walk at a slightly faster pace, but not able to run (chances of being able to run consistently whilst handcuffed are slim anyway). This would also cause the 'guards' to walk slower, and would stop the handcuffs from being overpowered, as the 'guards' would have to walk at the same pace.
  4. I don't really see why it is needed, it instead gives the player a feeling of control of something which isn't determined by them in the first place. When you disconnect, the game automatically saves your state (position, items etc) and the only time that the auto-saving is really needed is when the server crashes - the timing of which a player cannot control.
  5. Yeah, that's why I'm thinking about letting you do it when a person is incapacitated, much like how you can only give someone an epi-pen when they are incapacitated. This would mean that the person would not be able to fight back, and no roleplay would be needed.
  6. I'm not going to continue arguing, as just trying to read your posts is giving me a rather large headache. However, you clearly don't seem to know what you are talking about, claiming that 'this game is even harder then real life' is ridiculous, and the reality is that even more people would probably die in the case of a zombie apocalypse. In regards to you not being able to find barbedwire in real life - in post-soviet Russia, yes you would, and it isn't even that hard to come across in other countries. I'm not going to even bother addressing the 'zombies feeling your heart' as it would be both a waste of my time and yours, however, it does sound like a heartwarming story which could be presented through the form of a Disney movie.
  7. Personally I've been seeing considerably less zombies. I think while the amount has remained the same, the density of the zombie spawns seems to be less concentrated (ie the same amount of zombies take up a wider area).
  8. Because when humanity is removed the survivors will have to stop trusting each other, instead of just shooting bandits on sight - regardless of their intentions. It's only the carebears complaining, no need to worry as Rocket doesn't listen to bears of a caring nature.
  9. But Day Z and ARMA aren't your typical video game, they are instead more of a simulation, and as a result the gameplay mechanics stick to the side of realism. In real life I strongly doubt that when being chased by an infected, that they would have the time and strength to pick up a rock, and destroy the brain before being bitten or infected. Also those statistics (while unrealistic) are pretty much the same in Day Z. In the majority of houses you will find both food and gear. I'm not saying that the game is entirely realistic, however, zombies losing aggro if you bandage or lie down is simply too unrealistic and easy to be included in Day Z.
  10. The way I see it, you as a survivor have been washed up ashore with basic supplies, and that is why you spawn randomly along the coast. I think spawning in cities is a bad idea and can be easily exploited, however, I do believe that more spawn points are needed along the East coast, as the majority of people seem to be spawning at Kamarovo/Kamenka/Bolota/Chernogorsk/Elektro/Kamyshovo and leads to a higher density population in these areas.
  11. The ability to manually save should not be added in to a multiplayer game, ever. This would easily be exploited and allow people to perform actions without any consequences, as they could easily just load from before they died.
  12. Alright, I'm going to attempt to put this in to English for fellow viewers. a) Spawns should be dictated by what you currently need, such as AK47 ammo if you're holding an AK47, and food when you're hungry. b) Zombies should lose aggro when you are bandaging or laying on the ground, in a 'calm' state. Now I'm going to address how silly these ideas are: a) You can't dictate the spawning for a single user, and even if you could, it would effect all the other players on the server and would lead to a completely unbalanced loot system. Also, the point of DayZ is survival, if you get all the gear you need to survive when you need it, then what is the point in playing? b) This is also making the game ridiculously easy, let's say there were zombies in real life, would they really lose aggro to allow you to bandage your wounds? And would they suddenly lose interest if you decided to lay on the ground? No, and I think the zombie mechanics are almost perfected right now. Both of these suggestions are impractical and make the game way too easy. If you want an easier version of Day Z, go play Fallout 3.
  13. @Mafit Wait.. so you're complaining that you wouldn't be able to cheat by logging out in order to survive? EDIT: Slightly off topic, but it appears that instead of posting to voice your argument, you instead give somebody a negative reputation if you disagree with their opinion. What is this. Reddit?
  14. This is silly. Besides, it already takes over 10 minutes to get in to a server because of everyone constantly disconnecting and reconnecting.
  15. I think that the neverending zombies encourages players to work together, and use tactics such as 'tanking' where one player will take all the aggro, and the other will throw a flare or smoke grenade in order to distract the zombies. Also, you need more than one person to take down a zombie horde, which also encourages teamwork.
  16. I have played MMOs before where instead of logging out immediately, you would press log out and there was a 20 second timer counting down until you log out, and when interrupted you would have to start again. I think this wouldn't be too hard to implement as we already have the 'hourglass' countdown, and it wouldn't punish the players who genuinely want to log out.
  17. I think the firewood system could be implemented better, such as firewood spawning around dense forest areas, or adding a system where players can take wood from trees. I don't think rocket really feels threatened by the fact that you won't play until 1.5.9 is out though.
  18. Hi, I purchased Combined Operations from Gamersgate, and have gotten Day Z working through Six Updater, however I want to be able to use the steam overlay whilst playing. How can I add Arma II CO to steam, and launch in DayZ mode? I have successfully added and launched Arma II CO from steam, but I cannot get the DayZ mod to load. Thanks.
  19. TLDR: Someone died and lost his loot. Such a rare occurrence in Day Z.
  20. This is both silly, needlessly complicated and belongs in the wrong subforum. Must try harder.
