Any news on 100 Slot servers?

100 players is fine. It was alot of fun. You didnt have to sit on the coast or in zino in order to find people. You could find people everywhere. It was the best.

*Justice served. Look @ all the dead bodies O_O.
  3. Nice Riker, I didn't get the ending though. Did you accidentally run into pat and gerp just randomly?

What is it that happens when you spawn?

Your character just loads into game on the server side but your client takes a little longer to pull the information.... I think.
  5. Nice job mate, did you ever end up finding the guy that was killed?

    What about Zombie Dogs?

Only human should be infected. Otherwise, you have to have every animal be able to be infected if you want it to be realistic.

    My first dayz trailer....

Nice job as always riker B) .
  9. I have ignored many people in the past telling me that, "DayZ will never even release," or how "buggy DayZ will always be". I can't help but be concerned now with the progression of the StandAlone. It just seems like the "core" of the game is broken. By that I mean, every time 10 bugs are fixed, 20 more are created. Then those bugs are fixed and 30 more are created. I have been part of a software development project that had this same problem. 10 years later the software is still buggy and constantly has issues. If the game had not been released to the public, one can not help but wonder if they would scratch the current software/system in place and rebuild it with the new and much larger team. I wouldn't at all be shocked if one day DayZ standalone is rushed out the door with tons of bugs and incomplete. Can you imagine the issues once loot respawn is in place? Like I said, the core of the game seems broken and in the developers minds it is too late to go back, they have to push forward. We'll have to see how Bohemia responds with H1Z1 coming out soon.
  10. I couldn't agree with you more mate. I am guessing that its not that easy to just give access to logs via ftp. Or is it?

Tricks & Tips - Move without making sound

    That cracks me up.
  12. I like how people who respond to criticism of the game with "IT IS ALPHA!." Just an FYI, stating that is in ALPHA provides no constructive feedback what so ever. While there is a lot of negative criticism occurring at the moment, there is a lot more CONSTRUCTIVE negative criticism than positive feedback. You can only use the fact it is alpha for so long. It is a bad engine with bad net code. Most of the patches consist of trying to optimize the game so they can implement major components. Shouldn't the alpha phase be implementing major components then optimizing them in beta? Whoever mentioned it in previous posts hit it on the head with Bohemia screwed up. Bohemia was ahead of all the companies with DayZ but they put very little into it until AFTER it sold 1.7 million copies. However, now that other companies have seen the interest in these kind of games, you are going to see a lot of competition. DayZ Standalone could easily fail if one of these companies create a survival game that is complete and polished.
  13. Honestly though, would we really be that upset about it? Think about it.... At this point, many people seem concerned with the current game and that the engine and netcode prevents DayZ from being DayZ. We have all seen and experienced the problems with the bugs, the desync, and other issues with the game. Imagine if Bohemia came out and said they are scratching the current version of the standalone, apologize, explain everything we already know. I for one would be actually understanding and be thankful they realize they messed up. They begin building DayZ on the ARMA 3 engine. Now realizing its potential the team is much larger and more money goes into it since the alpha has made a lot of money. With a new core and netcode in place, a larger team, and lessons learned, Bohemia would be able to deliver us a much better game which we would all be happy with. So now, were happy and guess who else is happy? Bohemia! Why you ask? Because those 1.7 million buyers now are going to buy the new DayZ on Arma 3 engine plus however many more. We as consumers are happy because we get the game we want, Bohemia is happy because they make alot of $ off of it. Everyone is happy. Is that really THAT bad of a strategy moving forward? If anything that could be the BEST strategy moving forward for the company and for us as consumers.
  14. I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone quote Rocket yet stating, "at its core it is broken". Perhaps we are going to start seeing why he said that if we haven't already. What will happen once he does leave? So many well made posts on this topic too! You know when posts make you stop and think that they are we'll made. Hopefully we can keep that up and not attack/troll each other.

Battle Berezino! Gun fight in woods @ end.

Ive been watching your videos since you first posted your riding solo, and you my friend have some good videos. You skip all the boring crap, tons of action, and most important, you aren't afraid to show you're human and fup. You have my beans!
  16. By core, I mean the guts of the coding and design itself. There is a big problem with all this public alpha that has taken off nowadays. The ultimate goal of any game is its final release. With this public alpha, you have patches where the goal is to progress the game but also keep the customer satisfied. This causes conflict with retaining the "ultimate goal" of a final release. Notice how patches having been coming out slower and slower? While this is my opinion, this is most likely caused by this conflict of interest. The game went from being a closed alpha, where the only goal is a final release, to public alpha where Bohemia must cater to the needs of the public and keep customers satisfied with their game experience. Because of this conflict, patches and hot fixes were implemented which satisfied us as customers but delays the "ultimate goal" of the project. As more hot fixes/patches are put in to cater to the needs of the customer and make the game enjoyable/playable, any major changes to the game must now revolve around these patches and hot fixes. Hopefully these public alphas will eventually go to the waste-side, but for now I hope Bohemia will be able to fix the problems with the current game with some intelligent developers and programmers :) . I can imagine how challenging it is just from looking on the outside.

    Stable Branch: 0.44 Discussion

This game is so far from complete. It seems like the core on which it was based off of is broken. By that I mean, when 80 bugs are fixed, 100 more bugs are created, then those bugs are fixed, and more are created. It's just not a good thing. It is very concerning and I am sure it has something to do with the slow progression. It will be interesting to see how Bohemia will respond with H1Z1 coming out as it is picking up a lot of hype due to the stand alone problems.

    Sobering experience in Starry Sober

Shooting people non-stop is pretty easy. Honestly its just lazy. Its much more difficult to coordinate a possible holdup than see a guy with your LRS and shoot him.
  24. JimmyGate

    Why would you even...

Yea I hate that crap, honestly people that do that aren't good enough to play the game or just have self-pitty issues.
