WTF I never have nor ever will hack, so where do you get off saying everybody does that? There is nothing worse than low, base, pathetic little punk bitches that use hacks. As far as I'm concerned they're pussies that need to learn how to play the game honestly and fairly, taking their knocks like everyone else or piss off. If your friend got banned for hacking then good riddance they should ban him from steam too.

Its really starting to come along nicely now, more survival gear a couple of new weapons.....lovely, not to mention the prototyping of vehicles of some kind may be soon in our future.

Seriously love that idea and have been a fervent supporter of making long distance shots more realistic, it will definitely sort the men from the boys. I know of quite a few RL distance shooters like myself that would be very happy if this sort of thing was introduced into the game.

No my thinking is not at all flawed thank you. I don't at all consider it necessary to add another guage, but, if there is to be one added I do not see any reason for it to be the .410 when the 20g would be a much better choice both for hunting and defence. Please your arguementation with the 50BMG is rather lame and childish and NOT at all what I was implying as well you know therefore a ridiculous statement, plus, its not the most effective rifle round so better go back and check that again. What variety ? oh your one of those that wants the 'cool' guns, because if we had the .410 we could have the judge or the governer etc etc. that again is a pretty lame excuse in my opinion too to have the .410 there is more than enough variety with 20g shotguns, plus, a short .410 out of a short revolver barrel you may as well stick to using the pistol round. As for cuting down confusion, seriously you're trying to tell me that you won't be able to tell the difference between a 12 or 20g shell ? well hopefully not everyone on this game gets so easily 'confused'. Had you bothered to actually go back and read, this started because someone stated 'what about a .22/.410/12g combo'. Why on earth would you want a 3 barrelled combo in that configuration as for me the .410 is redundant there. I also stated that I could see the use of a .410 with .22 combo, but you prefered just jumping up and spouting off, as I also said that the .410 had its merits for small game hunting but a 20g is more effective. But now I'm just being stubborn.

Ever heard of something called manners....son. ie be polite, learn to spell and don't call me son, that clear enough for you. And if you killed 150lb hogs with a .410 what cartridge did you use and at what range ? I will have to ask some other hunter friends of mine their opinion on the matter. While I admit that it is probably quite possible to kill a hog with a .410 using a slug at close range, I wouldn't fancy taking the chance when there are more suitable calibers available.

Booby trapping your gear whilst on you ??? well thats just daft. Who would booby trap themselves apart say a suicide bomber, but they're not right in the head anyway to begin with. On the other hand boody trapping your stash is....useful.

I like over and unders so you are not alone. Again, small game survival I'm all for but there is already the .22LR and lets face it a 20g is far more effective than a .410 will ever be, therefore making it a better all round caliber both for hunting and defence. There's also plenty of choice with 20g shotguns so its not as if it would be hard to find suitable models.

aaaahhhh so its all about the 'cool' then rather than the practicality of it. Small game....well DayZ does have rabbits. Give me a decent 20g and a .22 or .17HMR anyday of the week thank you, as there is nothing that a .410 can do that those calibers cannot do much better. As a firearms owner and collector as well as a hunter, I am well aware of the gun control laws in Europe and also very much aware that its not all about mil spec or large caliber rifles considering I own several small caliber weapons. One thing though, this is not Europe this is DayZ so arguementation of that kind for the implementation of .410 is a bit redundant.

why on earth would anyone in their right mind want a .22lr/.410/12g combo, what an absolute waste of time that would be. Drillings I get, 12g with a centrefire rifle caliber useful for hunting mid size game, hell even with a 22 barrel I could get but to add a .410 what a waste of time. A 22lr with .410 barrel again I can understand that for rabbiting and small game. .410 is only making a little bit of a comeback with 'combo' revolvers like the judge, but, better off just sticking to the .45LC for those guns as the .410 does very little. .410 is only any good for rabbiting/ small game hunting at close range with a long barreled gun, or, snakeshooting but a 22lr or .17HMR will do a much better job at longer range. Its just another totally useless caliber thats being floated around the forum.

Ok, lets make it simple, how many pistol and rifle calibers does your local gun shop have readily available in stock all the time? I'm not talking type or manufacture but actual calibers on the shelves as it stands leaving out the reloading and wildcats. There are literally hundreds of different calibers without the wildcat rounds, would you have them all in the game ? what about the firearms that use them? would you have several different guns per caliber? because a couple of thousand firearms roaming around a server during a spawn kind of defeats the object especially as there would need to be ammo for each of them. Would you rather have everyone give up using firearms all together as they get so pissed off not finding rounds for the gun they carry or vice versa finding rounds but never the gun? Keep it a bit more down to earth and realistic not fricking fairy land. Stick to realistic amounts of calibers, ie. those in current and wide usage which is pretty much where its heading now and having a limited realistic quantity of firearms to go with them. I hardly think you'd find a .357HH, .416 Rigby or the like in the area where DayZ is set...not really much call for a caliber like that now is there. I'm all for adding more calibers as long as it stays within reason and compatible with the setting.

Chinese rounds those no doubt. As for your comment totally agree with you on that.If people can't be bothered or don't want to take a little time to find out what goes with which thats their problem. This being said its making it sound like there will be hundreds of different guns and a huge variety of calibers which I hope wont be the case. Pistol is pretty much covered with .22, .380, 9mm, .357 and the .45 can't really see the point in adding a lot more calibers to that, as for the rifles its a bit lack luster at the moment and could definitely do with being increased somewhat allowing for a diversity of rifles both civ and mil spec obviously keeping the wildcat rounds out of the picture.

No idea. I have a distinct feeling that a lack of moral values, discipline and installation of a sense of fair play have quite a lot to do with it, but, I'll not get started on going down that road.

Hi All, Well not posted on here yet so figured I may as well. I'm Legio23, 38yo and ex military who got put onto this game by a good group of friends...as well as my brother. the <UGA>, of which I am a member, has 3 servers currently running on DayZ SA.

I can almost taste the sweet tears of those that cry from the wipe! They will sustain me and nourish me as I gear up. Seriously though, trying to find a way to keep your character from getting wiped when its going to be game wide is a bit pathetic...well quite a lot pathetic really.....man up, grow a pair and deal with it like everyone else! :facepalm:

Well simple fact is that all hackers are limp dicked pussies that can't play. The quicker this hacking problem is dealt with the better, unfortunately, its not going to be as soon as we would like.

God save us from the stats monsters!!!! You want kill counters go to a game that has a use for them. I would hate to see that sort of thing in this game and agree fully with Rags on this one. Yes sometimes it would be nice to know who or what killed you, but, thats part of the game.

Nice post And yup comms is a problem. The guys I play with are pretty good at keeping the chatter down and going silent in contact situations for the guy who's eyes on, but, when the group gets to 8 or more then it just goes tits up getting saturated with everyone trying to talk over everyone else which quite often leads to multiple guys getting killed by outsiders or fracticides. And ex Legion here. I do actually wonder how many ex mil or actives play this.

So both grenade launchers that have been modeled by the devs are not in fact stand alone grenade launchers but rather underbarrel systems. More logic to me really as there are the weapons to mount them and they are used in most combat units so chances of finding a weapon with one attached ,or, finding one to attach to a weapon system is much higher. If they're already bringing in 2 which will fit under the assault rifles currently in the game I really don't see the reason to add yet another single shot in to the mix. I can also find a plethora of weapons and weapons systems still in 'limited' service within the military, specifically SF units. 1. No its not, show me standard military forces using this in a widespread manner, most use underbarrel systems and I spent enough time with them. Stand alones are used more these days by LE in crowd control situations firing non lethals. 2. We all know that this will not force guys to choose between an assault rifle or GL. GL in the hands for the first shot and then straight to the assault rifle on the back to mop up dropping the grenade launcher. so whether they have a stand alone in the hands or a single shot underbarrel really makes no difference does it.
