    Possible FPS Enhancer

I'm using Win 8 64 bit pro. I've been reading and it seems to be hit and miss with others. Try changing your graphic settings too, that might help.

    Possible FPS Enhancer

Thank you for this awesome post! This should be a "Sticky". After spending about 30 minutes tweaking the settings, I was able to get over 90 FPS! Although, it's still a bit jumpy {expected}, my lowest fps is around 40... .. . My specs: AMD FX 8350 <~~~ Liquid Cooled 990FX Mobo 8GB Mushkin 128 SSD AMD HD 7950 3GB My Steam Launch Options: -nosplash -skipIntro -world=empty -maxMem=8192 -maxVRAM=3070 -cpuCount=8 -exThreads=8 Tweaking the DayZProfile file a bit more seemed to help as well. Things to note: I disabled VSync, Postprocess Quality and turned rotation blur all the way down.

    Low FPS

Hey Anthony, there isn't a better cpu that you could really get for the motherboard you have. The Intel Q6600 is for the LGA 775 socket and all the motherboards with that socket are a bit outdated, for most current games that is. I would save up some cash and keep an eye on NewEgg for some deals. However, I would recommend going AMD, as that will keep you from giving up an arm, a leg and some plasma! ;) I have been gaming with AMD since Counter-Strike and they have always remained the best bang for your buck. I'm not too sure how they will be doing in the future though, as their latest cpus {9370&9590} need to be liquid cooled. Although, most pc gamers are going the liquid route, it's still something to keep in mind. Here's some links to a good AMD motherboard and cpu at a decent cost: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131851 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113285 Links to a good motherboard and cpu from Intel: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131819 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115233 Here's a link to a comparison between those two listed cpus: http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i5-3570K-vs-AMD-FX-8320 There are other options, but going cheaper than this wouldn't really be worth it when it comes to gaming. I checked my NewEgg mail each day for deals while I saved up cash and bought parts separately over a few weeks.
