This thread is to share your story and talk about how you became a bandit for the first time and what you did after that. Here's mine; I was in Elektrogorsk, on top of that tower which is above some kind of storage area, I had looted a torch and some other useful accessories. I later logged back in after awhile and there was a guy right next to me, he had a CZ and other good stuff (At that moment the Compound Crossbow was the only primary I had had). Rather than logging off I decided to kill him with my Makarov, it may of not been the most nicest thing to do but since he was in a tower with a CZ he would eventually shoot me anyway. I fired a clip into him and watched him collapsed, as soon as he dropped the server crashed and I didn't get to loot him. (Karma lol) =( I could later play again but had to respawn and everything, but I'm still a bandit and intend to be one for a long time. What's your story?

I'm thinking of forming a group of mostly bandits, survivors if they really want. To form a large raiding force that attacks clan bases and forifications, I'll be sure to document our raids and others see it. Everyone would split the loot fairly as we all are going to have a an important job. Is anyone up for this?

It's awesome that they're wondering around Chernarus now, but wouldn't it be better if instead of them spawning away from the town and moving around, they could start originally in a town and then move to another leaving that town's zombie population lower until the town behind it does the same. I know people might no agree with me and it might be hard to implement but I've played other game mods like that and it was pretty awesome. -

Should there be a reward for time survived?

You set your own goals and feel rewarded with fun after completing them. For new players it may be getting a CZ, making it to Elektro or not dying for 2 hours. Others may find it fun to rack up X zombie kills or X murders. This game is a sandbox game and isn't really supposed to have a rewards system as of now. -
Without the zombies, what you're describing sounds like basic ARMA 2 or maybe another modifications. This mod would still be good without zombies as it adds the feeling of seriousness and survival, but still the zombies are the essence of this game.

The Official Unofficial Bandit Removal Petition

I enjoy how you professionally brought your request, and that thing about EvE sounds crazily bad ass, but the thing is I don't think they should be removed, since this is an alpha other stuff is being focused on. Changing the bandit system would be good though, resetting every life, being able for the game to tell between self defence and violence and maybe just give the choice of to a bandit who died if they want to continue their life as one or revert to a survivor. -
This seems good, I intend to stay a bandit and it'd be good to meet up with some others. I tend to play on German servers sometimes because when it's night time for me it's still day over there.

I decided to do my own playthrough of DayZ as I enjoy it quite a bit. I've recorded 2 parts and have uploaded 1 part so far, I wish I changed the sound settings before I started, it's hard to hear me. =/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTiHu-tZSjo I'm not sure what opinion I'll receive as people in this game tend to dislike glorification of PvP.

Proposed Benefit for not killing other players

Bandits are disadvantaged because they are kill on sight, a lot of bandits have bad gear. I agree there should be groups, but for everyone. -
Actually, I believe the bandits aren't the CoD fanboys, they're the ones killing all the CoD fanboys who think they can just walk into Elektro and 360 No-scope triple collateral everyone.

No. This game is popular for it's realism, I don't want to be attacked by hunters and boomers.

Being able to kill others in this mod is essential, people can become unconscious from lack of blood and I do believe they are lootable while in that state, they will later get back up or not. You can kill someone who is unconscious with 1 shot I believe. Most of this stuff is already in the mod I believe, the healing, looting and killing. But the thing is you wouldn't become unconscious from being repeatedly shot, you'd die.

Bandits are nearly always Shoot on Site, that's enough of a disadvantage. If people want to become awesome bandits and kill people then others will have to work together to kill them or just avoid them. The mental stability things wouldn't really work. -
This will be good sales for BI, if people think the game is to hard they'll leave, eventually only the serious players who like DayZ will stay.

This is ARMA, if you can't do something well, you either adapt or leave.

Can't take over Elektro or Cherno, your whole team would be ripped apart by bandits. This is a good idea though, it'd be easier and safer to execute further inland as their isn't as many hostiles in one area.
