You should fill out the bugs form and place this in the bugs section. As is, there's not much information though I'm pretty sure Rocket knows about it since he reported this exact issue to the board while testing.

I'm just making sure they're aware. I don't want to submit it as a bug if it's intentional. As long as the feedback is productive I totally endorse these threads. Though they shouldn't be recreated over and over.

I agree with this, however this might be a limitation of the engine and hard to implement. Especially when a lot of people turn off shadows to increase FPS. I do think that visibility should be altered by environment. It used to work fine but now every environment puts of a ton of visibility. ZOmbies see right through trees and bushes even when crouching and moving slowly.. prone is good and all but you shouldn't have to use it in dense foliage/trees.

Nah, I don't like the idea of a "Boss" zombie that drops any kind of loot. The point of the game is to survive and use the tools available to do so. I'm ok with different types of zombies, as long as they're only slightly different.. maybe little bigger or a little smaller. I don't like the idea of knowing a certain type of enemy will drop better loot.. why would the zombie even have it on him? Zombies don't use weapons, at least as far as the zombies in this game it seems. Also if it's bigger and has some different abilities (poison? Disease? barf that attracts zombies?) I'm somewhat ok with this as long as these zombies are rare and spawn completely randomly.

I at least agree that the visibility needs to be tweaked. I do like challenge but now they're hearing and seeing you from anywhere and everywhere. I can crouch in a building and move slowly and a zombie will somehow see me now and come into the building. I love prone as it is now, but crouch (especially walking slow) put off a lot of visibility and some sound.. even in more hidden environments. I'm finding you pretty much have to prone everywhere.. sometimes even in buildings now.. it's a bit excessive. I'm all for stealth, especially challenging stealth.. but i think the visibility for more covered environments should be reduced slightly.. maybe just one eye each.. and possibly less to no sound in buildings if walking crouching slow. Again.. could be that indoor stuff is still being worked on as I know Rocket advised having some difficulty with some of the more indoor coding.. something about ..rays.. or something heheh.

Date/Time: Tuesday, June 19th, 4:44am What happened: 1. First I picked up a map in a house and 5 small bags appeared on the ground where it was (looked like makarov satchels). When I press 'G' while highlighting said bags on the ground, I can see 8 hatchets. Trying to put these into my inventory simply causes them to disappear and does not fill any item slots. 2. I attempted to put my Winchester into my Alice pack from the inventory menu. It disappeared and 6-8 hatchets appeared in my pack, along with 3-5 crowbars. Trying to transfer to main inventory causes them also to disappear. 3. Attempted to grab an Axe (Hatchet?) from off the ground. It was the melee kind and it always said my inventory was full.. until I moved (lost) my Winchester and the primary weapon slot was free. Killed a zombie and he died. :) Now looking for a new winchester hehe. Where you were: I was in Mogilevka, in the closest enterable grey house near the non-enterable Church. Basically very far West side of the town. This is where I experienced the map issue. For the Axe (hatchet) issue I was in the very long barn in this town. What you were doing: Looking for food/water since I was very low due to last patch. I found some fine and was just exploring. *Current installed version: 1.7.1.2 *Server(s) you were on: Chicago 10 *Your system specs: Intel Quad CPU q6600 @2.40GHz 2.40 GHz Ram: 8 gb 64-bit Windows 7 home premium NVidia GeForce GTX 275 Fibor Op connection *Timeline of events before/after error: -

Lets try not assuming anything about what the Devs do and don't do. Instead concentrate on making their jobs easier by doing a lot of testing. In fact - we should be trying to break the game in order to discover issues.

I think they're trying to add weapons that would be reasonably found on the island. While I guess technically on a military base you might find that weapon.. but then you could find any weapon. They probably don't want to add to many of the really powerful weapons, just a few. -

A lot of good bugs being reported. But why are they being reported here in General Discussion? I think people have a sense that they will be viewed faster. Pretty sure Rocket reviews the bugs forum for actual feedback and information.. so you're better of posting it there.

it's ok, let your mad out. i havent seen so much meta-whining in years! what a bunch of dipshits to whine so much about someone else "whining!" LOLOLOLOOLOLOLOL It's normal to get frustrated when people can't get simple concepts in their head. Are you like the defender of the ignorant? Listen, their complaints AREN'T valid because they do not assist development at all. There's a proper way to report issues.. pointless whining about gameplay just demonstrates their ignorance towards the current phase the game is in. People DO know better.. but frankly, they just don't care. They're greedy and simply WANT and they'll make sure everyone knows about it. Ya that bothers me and I have no problems admitting it. If at least 1 person reads this and stops doing it, then my job is done. Anyway.. I'm going to back to actually assisting game development like everyone else.. like we all should be doing. -

1.7.1.1/1.7.1.2 are both pretty bad imo The hotfix (1.7.1.2) has made as many' date=' if not more bugs than fixes. We need a hotfix to the hotfix, most of the 1.2 servers that haven't rolled back already are in a state of perpetual crashing. Also, 1.1 made the game harder in all the wrong areas, and easier in all the wrong areas. -Should have limited starting equipment, not removed it imo. makes the game too hard to retain new players. -Line of sight is pretty broken as well, making it ridiculously easy to get away from zombies. It seems that the rectangle surrounding a structure is what is being used to detect LOS and not the walls/windows. I can literally aggro all the zed's in a city, walk into a doorway and they just freak out. I can just sit there shooting them all day as they just stand in the doorway. [/quote'] Once again.. it's Alpha. Mentioning OVER AND OVER AND OVER again the different bugs from every hotfix.. like they're completely unexpected is pointless. They put out hotfixes, we test them. Our job is to find problems and report back. Reporting back the "fact" you found bugs and can't believe they're there defeats the whole testing process of an Alpha. AGAIN... STOP PLAYING this game like it's an end product. IF YOU don't want to be a tester and want to play the end product NOW.. then stop playing.. wait for the game to finish. You might be waiting awhile.. but that's how all games are made. It just so happens that the devs here are nice enough to let us be a part of it. MAN how can so many people read the forums and not come to this conclusion on their own. -

I think you're the first person in this thread to call it terrible. Also.. it's Alpha (yup, said it again). If you didn't find problems.. then it wouldn't be an Alpha would it? Go post bugs in the bug forum.. complaining about gameplay because you're playing it like it's an end product is pointless. -

No, that is the point. Whether you had stuff or not is completely unrelated. It's an Alpha.. play with the intention of improving the game. People are way to attached to their items. I've had amazing gear and lost it multiple times.. sometimes due to bugs, sometimes due to stupidity and sometimes due to chance. Who cares.. I'm learning and the devs are learning.
