I didn't say these things don't occur. I can only speak for myself and my own experience. During my play I'm surviving just as much as I did before.. I have a lot of patience I guess. The only thing imo (just mine) that should be tweaked is visibility/sound in buildings and more concealed enviroments. Once these are adjusted.. the other issues are only a problem if you get caught by the zombies. Right now it's pretty tedious, but I have a feeling they're still ironing it all out.

I think just on the front page alone there's literally 2 or 3 threads on this already. Feedback is great, but there's no reason for everyone to have a their own new thread to share their opinion. Search function works great guys.

Sound when sneaking? Really?
RachetSmurf replied to detroilen's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Or you could Alpha test like everyone else and report bugs/suggestions? Why would you roll back when the whole point of us playing during "Alpha" is to help development of the game. Again.. this is the 100th time I've seen someone speak as though this is an end-game product not living up to their expectations. We're testing.. thats it.. nothing is owed to us. -
I find them to be pretty much the same except for visibility and sound needing to be tweaked. When that's more balanced stealth will be easier and you'll only have to deal with them when you make mistakes.

My feelings on the negativity toward Rocket and other devs.
RachetSmurf replied to billyangstadt's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This is an issue on all forums, across the internet. People are hateful and a lot of people feel extremely self-entitled. Especially when they spend money.. even if this mod is free. -

Sound when sneaking? Really?
RachetSmurf replied to detroilen's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think they're still ironing the kinks out for visibility and sound.. that's my guess anyway. A lot of stuff took priority in the last hotfixes. Guessing with all the feedback they will continue tweaking. -
Pretty convinced everyone is a bandit.
RachetSmurf replied to wo0kie (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
Good habit is to meet community through forums and/or chat rooms. Then play with this people after you've gotten to know them. I have a hard time trusting players in game right now, because they also don't trust me and we both panic. Finding out of game players to meet up works well. And the bigger your group is the less likely people will fuck with you and sometimes might even trust you more. All depends on who you run into in the dark alley. -
I don't know if I have any more "Alpha" explanations in me today.

I'm definitely not trying to argue with you' date=' but this is not true. There are no such expectations in an Alpha, most regular community do not even participate in this phase of Development. [/quote'] I recently played the Alpha of a game called endless space, it had bugs and balancing issues, but overall the experience was flawless, and rewarding, devs let people actively participate in the making of the game, even let the comunity make certain decisions throught pools on the forums, and they always did everything possible to keep the alpha stable - it was after all a ''released'' product, available to the general public. I had other Flawless experiences like this with alphas in a lot of mods / games like: Minecraft alpha and beta, mods for diferent TES games (oblivion, skyrim ect..) , total war mods, also some MMO alphas /early betas.. I don't think I remember ever losing like 5 character / campaing due to bugs in like 2-3 days in any of the above. Well it's still pretty earlier in the Alpha. I'd say that most games have a lot of concrete functions and content down before they allow testing from community. Rocket appears to be letting us in during the actual design and invention of the game. I'd just play it with an open mind and try to participate with the community as much as you can. That way when the game is finally released, it will be much more rewarding.

Prone all day long... when to crouch nowdays?
RachetSmurf replied to stimpen's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think this will be tweaked as time goes on. They're still ironing out the visibility and sound. -
Double barrel shotgun seems a little...lame?
RachetSmurf replied to Xianyu's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Pretty sure it's accurate.. it only has two shots then reload. Again, I'm not expert on guns. Worked quite well on a bandit at close range from behind. :D -

Careful not to RANDOMLY DIE during this "HOTFIX"
RachetSmurf replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's an Alpha. Play with the intent of helping fix the game, not to progress further in it or for your own gameplay. I'm actually getting really exhausted at the number of threads and people that don't seem to understand this. Think I've been wasting my breath.. oh well. -
These are bugs. You should report them in bugs section. If they're already reported then why bother posting about it again? Also it's an alpha and if you find problems, you should report them properly with constructive feedback and then rest assured they will be taken seriously. These threads are constantly popping up. I don't think anyone is actually searching for already posted threads about these issues. Are people just venting? "working in the gaming field" this really doesn't mean anything. It's all about presentation.

Heartbeats! Are they broken?
RachetSmurf replied to Joyrider (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
OP, Gather all the details and go post this in the bugs forum (using the form). I'm sure Rocket would appreciate this information in detail. -
Good thread. If you're planning on constantly adding more to it, just edit your first post so that it's one long list of information. Maybe it will get stickied.

Hotfix Build 1.7.1.4 Rolling Update (was 1.7.1.3)
RachetSmurf replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
This is a very good idea. Bugs should be reported in bug section. Instead of tracking down Rockets posts and posting in the same thread. -
Hatchets takes shitload of space in 1.7.1.4
RachetSmurf replied to patem's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Someone suggested putting the hatchet back in the utility slot and being able to right click it to arm it, and right click it to harvest wood. If it's made a little weaker (since it would only take up one of these slots) then this would be a fine idea. -
Finally some people are trying to make the game fun
RachetSmurf replied to Hirox3's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think the realism in this game is what makes it fun. Obviously zombies are fictional but they're trying to as closely as possible predict what it would be like if it happened in real life (hence simulation). People WANT this kind of game because it'll never happen for real and its fun to see what it's like without the real world consequences. If you make it like every other zombie game... well... it will be like every other zombie game. :) Nothing wrong with good suggestions, but lets not turn this into Resident evil, L4D or the many other games out there. If you're looking for that, then man just play the classics! I still love all kinds of survival horror.. but DayZ give me something specific the other do not. Adding extreme fiction will make it lose its sandbox appeal.
