Also My Apologies the principle idea of carrying someone has been suggested.
-
Because they are features in those games they shouldn't be in this one? I assume your pertaining to them being first person shooters so that means it's bad right? Carrying someone over your back as a bandit would be pretty cool I would think, locking them in a room. Stacking dead bodies in a building. Carrying your injured friend because they broke their leg in a survival game. Never played those games so I don't know how they work there.
-
Lol I love this idea but I just laugh that we want all these features in a game when we should be playing poker and hanging out with friends in real life more! Not a diss, just an observation. I'm all for this feature, good post!

Just had this happen to me for the first time yesterday. Was sad because I had survived a major desync with a zombie beating me but then this error happened to me about an hour later; again, with zombies beating me and someone shooting. Needless to say, my guy died :( . Did OP report this error already on the issue tracker? I can't find it.

At this point, they are testing the loot spawn system. When we are out of alpha, maybe beta, they will reduce the spawn rate. Sorry man, but you gotta be patient just like the rest of us.
-
OP can have my beans. Play how you want to play as you see fit (short of cheating/exploiting). In my situation, I've met a clan that I roll with and those are now the people I will soley completely trust. Everyone else is KOSed if fully equipped, or > me equipped, and approached cautiously if less equipped.

Has dayZ succeeded in being a different type of game?
Merc. replied to stielhandgranate's topic in General Discussion
Imo, eventually this game will be a fantastic survival game. Yes, right now there's a lot of PvP, and I think that's accountable to lack of content. That issue is being addressed steadily as right now they are figuring out loot spawning, optimizations etc... Based off how much content they have put in in alpha stage, one can only wonder how much will be in at the games actual release! I don't think they are takin the game in a different path, their just still building the game and it won't be how it is now. -
Thank you to those who risked their tents on the persistent servers. You are truly testing the game! I'll test the game in other ways but I'm not risking my tent just yet ;)
-
I'd love to see a lot of what is suggested. Dynamic weather goes hand-in-hand with survival games in this day in age; though we can assume it's definitely not coming anytime soon, it willl change how this game is played.

Browsing the map I noticed that there is no fire station in the northwest part of the map. Personally, I think just for realism purposes one should be added to some town in that region to an existing town.
-
Yeah there's only four of them on the map. And not NWAF obviously. Should just be in one of the towns in the West/ NorthWest Region

How do you veterans start a fresh spawn? ( dayZ SA)
Merc. replied to killbot420's topic in New Player Discussion
Usually you'll spawn on the coast. I like to run straight north to Svet, then move towards Nova and its 3 surrounding towns (especially the one south for the firestation). From there I take the train tracks all the way west to NWAF and then move south, hitting all the military bases along the way. Eventually, I'll come into electro and meet my maker. -
1) Navigation Get a compass or use the isurvive app for iphone 2)Who and how to Trust I've met the bad and the good. I've met other passerby's that I do a trade with then split. It's really trial and error. You won't know someone is a bandit until its too late, and thats how the game goes. Just gotta keep playing nice and it'll payoff eventually. Or you can go on reddit or steam and they have sections where people are trying to find groups. 3)Crafting I'll let someone else take this one. 4)Everything else ...

Really? You can't give slack to someone who just started playing a game? "At what point does him being new to the game excuse him from doing something which is frowned upon in every single multiplayer game in existence?" The answer to that is when he comes onto a forum and people like us let him know it's frowned upon and he shouldn't do it. So the matter is settled for him. If he comes on here 2 weeks from now saying "aw bullshit I died after I logged out in a gunfight, wtf gives," Thats where you come in and I nod in approval of your blasting.

To the guys I just killed in Novo before the restart.

I like your style -
I like it too man. Lotta good picture perfect moments. One day I'd love to see more weather changes, (winter/snow) but it is great how it is atm.

Had to login to give you beans. Good Post man. Yea the OP is new like he said so he doesn't understand the ediquette or code of conduct for the game, cut him some slack.

What items would you kill someone for? An MP5K?
Merc. replied to HeroAtDay BanditAtNight's topic in General Discussion
I won't KOS someone for a item. But if I meet a random and they ask for something weopon related and they seem shady, I'm not telling them I have it. Moreover, if its some 13 year old, I'm gonna keep my gun out and make sure he doesn't try anything. Older gents, I trust more. -
First time giving beans, Eat Up! I would love vehicles too. but I must admit that those things are very important for immersion sake to me. I would probably stop lone wolfing 90% of the time, and thats a good thing.
-
At first, I hated the new melee issue. However, after getting the hang of it, it isn't that bad. When I think about it too, it kind of makes more sense: Being able to swing once and kill a zombie easily isn't realistic. Now, I imagine that your axe gets stuck in a zombie or you really have to get the axe deep before it goes down. For the first time, I'm running from 5 zombies instead of trying to fight them, which makes sense. I will admit thought, they do aggro from pretty far. It seems that when I look at them in a distance they immediately make eye contact with me and start the chase.

I have to revitalize this post. I would love to see temperature having an effect on gameplay, and I'm sure we will eventually see that. It gets me excited when I think about seeing a dayz map that has snow on it, seeing footprints of players, starting fires to cook and stay warm, and seeing warnings come up "my hands are schivering." I see this as being one of the last things being implemented, and the snow, most likely won't happen for a very long time.
-
Companion Dogs would be cool. It is going to be heartbreak when it gets shot though.. I like the idea of having a packs of wild dogs in cities and such though. just running through grabbing food or attacking players, that could be interesting.
-
Its taught me that if your a lone wolf, only go into the NWAF if the server is absolutely devoid of any other players; otherwise, the guy is just gonna run right into the rax and shoot you before you can say friendly.
