This is not a topic urging the devs to add cars now or very soon. The reason I am starting this topic is because I have realized that I am no longer dependent on vehicles for transportation like I was in the mod. In the mod, the first thing I would search for was a vehicle. But now, I have no problem at all getting along the map on foot, although the transition was a bit lengthy. As long as I put one foot forward, I can get anywhere that I want to ^_^ I would definitely say that getting around on foot has given me a better familiarity with the map and an understanding that I must be careful no matter where I am, because anyone could be heading exactly the same way as me and at exactly the same pace. Now don't get me wrong, I am also looking forward to vehicles being added and can't wait, but I think it's great that the devs have decided to leave vehicles out until late alpha, how about you guys? :D

I created my account very recently so I have not been reading through the threads for as long as you might have. I haven't seen very many topics about vehicles but I apologize if this topic is redundant.

As I stated in the very first line, this is not at all a topic urging for vehicles to be added. I only wanted to see others opinions. I chose the 'later' option in the poll, so that would contradict your theory :)

Definitely. Posting a topic about hacks/exploits in the wrong place means the devs have to actually search through the forums to find these topics, instead of easily just going to the bugtracker thread and knowing that everything is there.

Yes, but every exploit/hack can explode into something bigger at any time. They might find a way to make themselves transition between their player form to bird form in-game. That would be VERY serious. And people like Murdoc think the devs are doing nothing to stop these hacks/exploits, when that just isn't true. The last exploit I knew about got patched in a very recent update, can't remember which. But that shows these issues are being worked on. Slow maybe, but surely being worked on :)

This gives a huge unfair advantage to players because the hackers/exploiters can become birds and fly around figuring out where people are camped out or where they are, and then get on as a player and use that exploit/hack to their advantage. Now imagine if you have 10 hackers/exploiters in one server. Five of them are birds flying everywhere to see where everyone is at, and the other five are going around shooting them. It shouldn't just be ignored. You sound really obnoxious. I don't know if you've noticed, but the game is currently in ALPHA, not even beta. Which means there are going to be QUITE A FEW hacks/exploits. All games get hackers and exploiters, that's how the devs figure out how to increase the game's security and what hacks/exploits are currently possible and need patching. But either way I guess you are entitled to your own opinion so if you really feel this game is as shitty as you call it out to be, just uninstall it and quit flaming about a game that's still in alpha and has hacks/exploits <_< Also, if you bothered to think about WHY the moderators are not allowing video's, you'd easily infer that it's because they don't want other players getting interested in exploiting/hacking and trying to get these exploits/hacks for themselves! By putting up these videos, you're showing everyone that there is a new exploit/hack that can be done and just adding to the players that do it. Removing hacks/exploits require a lot of time and effort because you don't know what kind or how many there are, you just have to patch them as they come along.

I totally agree, doors at the moment are not very responsive and it takes a while to find the Open/Close door options, especially for gates. Definitely should be looked into now or in the near future.

Your suggestion might seem like a great idea now, but you will learn that there is good reason for different spawns. It is the BEST way for you to learn the terrain and map. You are left to explore the world on your own and figure out the game mechanics. Be aware that you can easily find where you are after spawning because there are 2 things you will always know when you spawn. You are on the coastline somewhere, and there is a road sign which will tell you your location. Once you spawn, have a look around and try to get to know what the place you are at looks like. Once you have that done, head down the road whichever way you want until you come across a blue road sign. The road signs are written in Russian, so make sure you have a translator (I recommend http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=245565949). Once you know where you are, have your friend do the same and find a way to meet up!

In time you will get accustomed to the controls, just like any other game. The reason you might have difficulty turning your body is because you have your LOOK key on. Dayz gives you the option to rotate your head and look around without moving your entire body. The default keybinding for this action is Left Alt. If you are holding Left Alt, your player is in LOOK mode. Release it to stop looking. Although, if you double tap Left Alt, it will lock your player into LOOK mode. Just double tap Left Alt again to get out of it. You can change the assignments for each keybind in the options so read through the controls to get a feel for what they do. Also, the reason why pressing S and D at the same time doesn't make your player turn is because they do not work that way. It will make your player walk backward and towards your right. To turn, you must move the mouse left and right. Try going in first person and seeing if that helps with movement. Yes, they actually did have this in the mod. It was however, as you said, a bit bugged. You can also check if a player is dead by going up to them and checking their pulse. A dead players pulse will read "[PLAYERNAME] has no pulse and is warm to the touch".

I suggest an option to move or possibly carry dead bodies. Often times people kill other players somewhere with little to no cover and retrieving the loot can be quite dangerous. An option to place the body on your back or carry it in some way and being able to move it to a safer spot with more foliage would be a great addition to the game in my opinion. I would also like to see your opinions on the matter, so leave a poll!
