Only time I am friendly is as a fresh spawn and I still die that way. For that reason, I don't risk it when I am fully geared. There is a series on YouTube where a geared person sets up on the street handcuffed with friends hidden around for protection. When someone comes along, they ask for help and they could either take the Magnum and shoot with the 1 bullet or take the handcuff keys and unlock him. In one of the episodes, he gave a friendly fresh spawn some gear for helping.

I love running into people who roleplay. It can get so random and then you end of getting killed by that same guy or a random bandit.

I have shot a guy in the chest from 2 feet away with my Mosin and then again in the legs and they live to kill me.

My parameters are set to: -winxp -nosplash -skipIntro -noPause -maxMem=4096 -maxVRAM=32 cpuCount=2 -exThreads=3 I am still getting the BI splash logo for some weird reason and I don't crash when I ALT+TAB out of the game; maybe because I set DayZ.exe to run in compatibility for XP service pack 3 manually. Can you revise these to make sure everything is right?

Would you mind sharing everything you did to get more FPS?

Here it what I have my launch parameters set to. -winxp -nosplah -skipIntro -high -maxMem=4095 -maxVRAM=32 cpuCount=4 -exThreads=4 I have an Intel Core i3 3217-U and an Intel HD 4000 graphics card with 32 mb of VRAM and 4GB of RAM. What do you recommend I set my parameters to? And how do you know it doesn't have hyperthreading support?

I have a dual core i3 but it's hyperthreaded to 4 cores.

How much did your desktop cost you in total?

I was in Novo and I made a loop west into a secret military base in the middle of nowhere alone with woods all around. They were barracks but the buildings didn't look the same and I could walk through walls. There were no loot spawns and it was surrounded by a fence with a guard stand you could overlook into the woods. I didn't get a picture of it though because I didn't think about it (how stupid). I assume this is the location on the map. Seems the most logical. Does someone have a picture of it?

I bought Arma 2: Combined Operations and downloaded DayZCommander. I can play fine on any mod for DayZ mod with the latest patch, but when I try to downgrade to the previous version, it's a different story. I made sure to download Operation Arrowhead Beta and ticked the option to opt into beta 108074, if that helps. I tried to install Arma 2 version 1.62, and it shows the "Wrong CD Key" error message and shows that my Arma 2 version is not found (out of date). So then I try to go into a fitting server and it says "There was an error launching Arma 2 with DayZ. Please check your directories in your settings panel AND be sure that you have the mod installed in the install/update panel. Details: The system cannot find the file specified."

My friend found one on the hood of a car in the Berezino police station the first time we looked within 10 minutes of getting online. Found a mag at Novo right after about 25 minutes later. Today, I found another one (forgot where) and another mag.

I logged out on top of one of the Berezino apartments (Yes, I know, stupid idea.) with my friend and I immediately got shot by an M4. A couple of minutes later, my friend kills the guy with the M4 and guess what? He has a hacked mag and a whole bunch of attachments, which he could have got legit. Just yesterday I was at the NEAF and I see 5 guys running around with M4s. I kill one of them with my SKS and take his M4. It had a hacked mag in it. So, to give them a taste of their own medicine, I use it on them and spray 3 other guys and finish them off. All of a sudden, I get sprayed and shot. There was no possible place they could have shot me from. (This one might be a glitch.) Today, I was at the NEAF again and I see my SKS and Magnum gone from my inventory but nothing else. My friend was next to me and they took his Blaze 95. No one was around. (Just like the one above) I was at Berezino with 2 other friends at one of the pubs and they start freaking out because they are losing things from their inventory. We were all fully geared and in about a minute, they get their whole inventory taken and I log out in time to escape it. What is up with the hackers?

How exactly do I set up DayZ mod on Steam? I heard you need a 3rd party program to play the mod because it sucks playing it on Steam. I have Arma 2: Combined Operations and whenever I try playing DayZ from Operation Arrowhead, I get an error.

-exThreads=[your amount] What is that and where can I find it? I have my launch options to -nosplash -skipIntro -world=empty -winxp -maxMem=4096, -maxVRAM=32, cpuCount=4, -exThreads= Is it fine the way it is or do I need to fix something (add commas, etc)?

Twice I've emptied a whole 20 round M4 mag into someone and they have lived and killed me. Am I missing something? Are they hackers? Lag?

I was 2 feet away from them both times. Maybe it was desync since zombies hit me from 10 feet away.
