    Large caliber handguns were designed for the explicit purpose of incapacitating charging enemies through hydrostatic shock. It doesn't matter how much adrenaline is in your body if you take 3-4 shots in the chest that liquify your heart and lungs.

    Lesson learned, DayZ team: in the future, just blacklist these servers from the hive without saying anything. Then they can keep their DayZ server that they paid for.

    I love the dawning realization that most of the internet tough guys filling up this forum probably camp Cherno with DMRs, using tags like XxXUSMCsNiPeRGh05tW0lFXxX and jacking off over how tactical they are every time they shoot some random in the back who just finished downloading the game 5 minutes before.

    This won't do much to stop hoarding unless the inactivity timer for out of bounds vehicles is really, really short. Otherwise they're just going to cycle through their fleet of Cadillacs once a day to stop them from despawning. I'd say make them despawn if they're off the map for more than an hour or two, regardless of whether or not they're being used by players. There's absolutely no legitimate reason for players to take a vehicle out of bounds for that long.

    It's pretty much pointless to play until Rocket gets the ALT+F4 shit sorted if your main focus is PvP. I can't remember the last time I actually 1) got a kill on somebody and 2) got to loot the body. It usually disappears becasue they're in the middle of disconnecting when they die.

    The way zombies behave when they're chasing you is pretty ass. I don't know how they're going to improve it though since they're handled client side (to improve server lag) once they start chasing you, which is what accounts for them being jerky as fuck and teleporting all over the place. I've had bullets clip through them many, many times as well.

    Yeah, some people usually bottle-neck some where. Usually they get like an i7 but have an above average nVidia card. It's kind of ridiculous when people expect to run an old game but don't understand that the way these huge maps exist is by rendering a slightly less huge area around you. What? Are you saying an i7 is bad?

    You know your community is a cesspool when it starts actively snubbing new players. Bonus points if they use the fear of their community turning into a cesspool as an excuse to snub said players. Who the fuck cares? You're not giving Rocket much credit if you think the game is suddenly going to turn into Hello Kitty Island Adventure because there (might) be more people complaining on the forum.

    lol @ the 'crappy computer' comment. I guess you need a six core CPU overclocked to 5ghz before you can even dare hope you get an FPS higher than 25-30 in Cherno. If your game can't run acceptably on an i7 quad at stock on medium-low settings then you should probably consider optimizing it a bit better. Anyway, it's alpha, and regular ARMA does seem to run a lot better than Day Z so hopefully most of this is just kinks in Day Z's scripts which will be worked out over time.

    Restarting the server to roll back your shit getting stolen is pretty disgusting. It's hard to tell when it's abuse and when it's coincidence' date=' though, because everybody automatically assumes it's admin trickery when the server restarts within ~30 minutes of them stealing something or raiding a camp. That said, a lot of admins [i']are doing it.
