What works well is if you chuck a flare across the street from the building you are in, even in daylight, since the zeds will aggro to it when the come close and you can sneak out. -

Hey! I love your servers! I have had problems connecting since 1.7.1.5 though. Usually I can spawn very quickly in your servers, however since the patch I get stuck at "Waiting for character to create" on all three of your servers. -

Its called the debug forest/zone. Its a bug. Hit escape and select "Respawn" >> "Abort" >> "Disconnect" >> "OK" and then you should respawn on the beach :) -
Assault rifles, because I just need to shoot zeds and not players.

I agree that some members of the community are garbage. Some members don't have a clue about how the game engine runs, or what is involved in coding; some don't understand the difference between ArmA II and DayZ, others have never had survival training or an outdoor experience in their lives. Eventually these new players will figure this stuff out, and hopefully they don't leave the community because we need them. IMHO there are too many players in the community who are teens just letting out aggression, and too many silent adults just watching and becoming frustrated. Its sad seeing posts from players complaining about this game being unplayable for a couple days, as if their world revolves around the game. Every post on this forum should be written as though dictated through your grandmother. -

Face death like a man! Sprint to the nearest town, aggro every zed, hide in a house, and drop as many of them as you can. Every time I have done this I end up surviving and finding lots of supplies. ( wait for 1.7.1.5 though, infinite zeds are hard to beat) -

I survived for 11 days, and then the first time I spawned in 1.7.1.1 I got shot in the face at the "Loading Screen". No idea who shot me. Then after spawning in 1.7.1.2 I got D/C'd in a barn, when I re-connected there were three guys in the barn, so I took out my flashlight and started crouch walking out of the barn. One of the guys with a whinny sees me, and blasts my face off with no warning. I dont understand why people murder others in this game other than pure sport... -

Invalid weapons are removed constantly. If you're found several times with an illegal/invalid weapon you might get a warning/ban depending on severity. You better not ban people for possession of "illegal" weapons if you are to incompetent to stop cheaters from spawning these weapons. All he was saying was that it is possible to receive a ban for a hacked weapon, not that you will if you have one. I imagine that in order to receive a ban one would need to be spawning tons of weapons in game. For the average player who finds a hacked weapon on a corpse, will receive no punishment other than a makarov. The spawning is an engine bug, that the DayZ team has no control over. -
[1.7.1.4] Crouch Volume

What I am wondering is if the zombie scream radius was increased... it would make a lot more sense as to why an entire town aggro's you now instead of just the zombie you aggro'd. As for why this is screwed up, I noticed rocket discovered that the original sound/sight system wasn't programmed correctly in the first place ( stacked if statements where only the extreme checks were used ) so he modified it. This is probably why it is so fucked up, because this version of the sight/sound was never tested before. -

Well, with the recent patches having screwed up spawns its pretty believable to not find any guns (I havent seen a single gun spawn all day). I just tried playing 1.7.1.4 and pulled zombies from +100m by crouch walking in a building. It is obviously not intentional, the game is broken, just wait for 1.7.1.5 (and pray it works!) -
So, out of utter curiosity, I googled dayz hacks. Every single site I went to had hackers talking about how they are all getting detected now no matter what. Any of their talk about new hacks was just scripting ammo boxes and stuff into the game, which has already been fixed with the makarov work around. I would just say be patient, and to stick away from servers where you see hackers being reported. I stay away from a lot of east coast servers and have never seen a hacker.

Hey, I searched and couldn't find an answer to this question: If one uses a client side movement fix for DayZ ( ) is it considered cheating?Just wanted to make sure! (Let me know if this is a repeat thread so I can delete it)

You can't get banned for it, but if it doesn't work you will be kicked from the server for having invalid key or something along those lines. Goodluck! -
I think these mods should be stickied on the forum so that people know about them and how to download them. Also, these should be bundled with DayZ in some way.

From BE point of view you'l be fine. [/quote'] See, that is my big conundrum! The mod is free and everybody can/should get it. But some people don't have it. So if its allowed DayZ staff could sticky it so it is a "Recommended" add-on mod or find a way to bundle it with DayZ... maybe I should post this in suggestions... -

In order to receive a perma ban, hacking tools must be detected on his computer, logged in game, and detected by BattleEye. If you feel as though he is innocent, please file a claim with BattleEye so that they can review his case. The sad truth may be that your friend hacked, even if he won't admit it. -
